I did pop out in the end, and did find myself in a garden centre, well two actually:o
One had the tree, lovely ten years old dwarf, but gulped at price [£42.80], left that. The other had half price huge ceramic pots, bought one of them for "the tree" once I find it that is
Went in Morries on way home, jackpot YS MFOs, 4 of them at £1.25, destined for freezer
Lunch was the cheese on toast, with piccalilli
Dinner on target, beans & tin opener locked & loaded:D
Last bit of gardening yet to be done, lug the green waste wheelie bin round front ready for collectionEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I stopped off at L1dl on the way home.... bought fruit pastilles, sausage rolls and chips.... but can't eat yet as jaw is aching and I had the whole injection thing, so it's all numb/swollen.
It was "a rough ride", probably one of the toughest dentist sessions I've ever had... this one's going to be an "acher" once the injections wear off
Tooth is loose.... so, going forward, I can just expect more trouble from that I guess until it has to be tugged at some point in the next 1-3 years.0 -

Flubberyzing - sounds as though you made a good call in easing back after half-term nothing worse than the day from he1l on the first day back after a break.
Wednesday - call your rissotto pilaff , that's what I always did if I hadn't used rissotto rice:cool:
Good evening everyone,
The weather did warm up a bit but the haze never really lifted until late afternoon, it's turning very cold now though.
I got my bed changed though it took blinking ages as I kept having to go and sit down:mad:, still worth it as IMHO nothing beats getting into a freshly changed bed:D.
The cold lamb salad for lunch was just gorgeous, I had to seriously resist having seconds:). Dinner won't take long to cook as I've done the prep just need to bung it in the oven now.0 -

That sounds painful, please be gentle with your jaw when trying to eat. Do you have any painkillers or tooth gel?
I finished up the stew I made yesterday and am planning salmon fillet tomorrow night and porridge for breakfast. Lunch will be with dd and baby and is likely to be healthy and am looking forward to something I have not cooked.
Offered to bring dd some gluten free pasta and also some frozen chicken breast or burgers if she can use it as I am trying to use up food I already have before going out and buying more."This site is addictive!"

Just thought I'd put in my two pennorth and question the OP's assertion that that they have to shop online and (therefore) can't take advantage of the likes of Lidl/Aldi.
We've had more than one leaflet through our front door in recent days offering a 'go-and-shop-at Lidl-for-you' service. I believe they were asking a fiver for the effort. Is this hugely different from what you'd pay Mr Tesco or Ocado?
Is it really impossible in most people's localities to find someone who could perform a similar service?0 -

As the OP I'll challenge back - nope nothing like that here service-wise and nearest Ald/Lidl is around 10 miles away so nope no other option and also works out dearer than my annual Tesco delivery saver.
Ok, just wondered whether you'd checked out all the possibilities.
I suspect for most people, given the spreading of Lidl and Aldi stores now going on, contacting an odd job guy to do this sort of thing would hardly be out of the question.
We literally get people knocking on the door offering to do this. They put all the orders they get together, so it effectively means just the one daily sweep for them, and then split the load into the different deliveries. With Lidl being a standard average of 25%+ below Tesco's pricing, for most weekly shops this cancels out the delivery charge and, as the Yanks say, 'then some'...0 -

Evening all
Another sunny day after the frosty start, scraping the car was worth it for the good weatherWork started today with a 9am fire alarm. As a fire marshal I get to be assertive, sometimes it's like trying to herd cats getting our lot out and then I got to watch the firemen whilst standing in the sunshine
it seems someone in another company below us burnt toast  luckily the fire station is just down the road so they didn't have far to come, I'll resist taking bread to toast for breakfast tomorrow :rotfl:
Hope the teeth are ok PNsometimes the injection site aches for a couple of days if they hit a big nerve
Farway / Caronc I went into W*itrose for milk lunchtime and stood gazing at the lamb, I blame you two. as it was W*itrose I was able to talk myself out of buying any it was a bit pricey  and I've no room to shoehorn it into the freezer, TBH I really don't want to roast a joint after work
. I do have three lamb shoulder shanks in the freezer picked up individually YS from the meat counter so I may invite my sister and nephew for Sunday dinner soon.
I picked up some YS spring onions and portobello mushrooms so although life is too short to stuff a mushroom that will be tomorrow's dinner :rotfl: note to self don't leave onions in car on a warm day  just a slightly smelly drive home
Lunch today was HM ham and pea soup with some shredded gammon added to it, not to sound immodest it was darn good :rotfl: I'm glad it made five good size portions. Dinner was LO cauliflower cheese and gammon.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

Didn't get any baking done after that cos...erm... Walking Dead, so will do a Smiddy Dumpling tomorrow evening
Dinners at home and work lunches sorted for the week for aboot £15...:j

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.
