    Good morning everyone,
:mad: re the burst bin bag Brambling not what you needed. Glad birthday celebrations went okay though:)
It's very windy here with torrential showers and odd spells of sunshine. I nipped to the bin and just about got blown over:eek::eek: and it's fair to say I'm no feather weight;).
Still looking for my oomph but I finish the antiBs today so hope it might return over the weekend but until it does I'm just taking it easy. I've discovered that "All Creatures Great & Small" is on YouTube so as I'm re-reading (and thoroughly enjoying:)) the books at the moment I plan to indulge in a good bit of nostalgic TV watching:D.
Lunch is going to be soup & a sarnie and tonight breaded pollock, HM wedges, peas & either cabbage or spinach.

Changed my mind - and whipped up a Yorkie for the sausage casserole, will also defrost the last portion of mash from the freezer, which will get rid of that.

Freezer's been emptying nicely recently .... just today that's the sausages and some mash gone from it.

WILD weather here. When I open my front door the large rubber backed entrance mat flies up in the air.
  • I know just how you feel PN, I have just taken some end of root veg from fridge which I had saved last week for soup, Going to do roast in oven, not something I particularly like but has to be done, I find that I have brekkie and then around 11.00 I decide to make an effort food wise so go into kitchen and prep whatever veg I am having later, get protein out of freezer (or decide to fry and egg !!) then I go away, either go out/ back to de-clutter/watch TV/go on internet until around 4.30 when I feel like going back to cook whatever. Its goof to be retired and on your own.
  • CG - the afternoon tea sounded lovely as does the pizza and chocolate cake Brambling.

It's really horrible weather here. Cold, rainy and very gusty. I decided not to go to my reflexology today so I had to re-book it for next Wednesday.

Next week now I've got to go to get two blood tests, see the hygienist, see the dentist, see my reflexologist, go to my MH workshop and also two GP appointments.

Oh, actually I can cancel one of the GP appointments as I don't need antibiotics anymore!:)

Here's another one with wet & wild weather, it was Ok this morning when I was out, good job back in for the day now

Yesterday's savoury mince thing + dumplings was a belly buster. I made the dumplings larger than I expected, too many really but gobbled them anyway. LOs for another day of course

Came across a YS FR chicken in L's, that'll go in my new freezer, it was for that sort of thing I bought it

Now I've remembered I forgot to buy carrots. Not that I need any in foreseeable future this weekend, just mildly irritating knowing I don't have any:(

Coincidentally a couple of mentions today of things also on my "must do" list
PN, sausage casseroles, I've had a mix for yonks just needing a Round Toit to get cracking
SG tuna pasta bake, yep, I've got all the bits, except the Round Toit

Lunch was a tasty bacon butty, just plain, no sauce / ketchup. Excellent

Dinner, no idea and very much CBA, could be cheesy beans on toast, it's that sort of weather. I could have the rest of the mince but don't fancy it two days on the trot

Yes, my meals often build up over the day, sometimes starting the night before.... get the SC out, so I don't forget, get veg out on the top so it's there.... lay out the packets/tins/spices etc involved on the worktop... slowly, over several visits, lining things up.... all working towards the hope that I'll actually get round to it at some point :)

Today I wished I'd started some bits/bobs last night.... could've chopped the onion and peeled/chopped the carrots - I did think about it last night, but CBA :)

Yorkie cooked, mash defrosted/nuked, casserole ready/served.... added peas too. OMG that was good. Must use sausages more often.... really must.

Having had the Angel Delight idea planted in my head, I suddenly thought "what the heck" as the milk's date's tomorrow and it is the easiest way to get rid of it. Did a butterscotch one, into three portions.... already eaten one of those too :)

Casserole should do for four portions .... rest is boxed up in the fridge for now. It's probably 50-60p or so per portion.

Had a fright, the PC mouse died, no light, no arrow, just a useless bit of plastic on a wire:eek:

[STRIKE]Press the off button & start again[/STRIKE] Initiated master recovery plan, and now I'm back, the weather is atrocious, must be foretaste of Brexit Day:D [Joke BTW for any who may be triggered by mentioning it]

Cheesy beans on toast is a goer, tin of beans out, pan out, cheese out, grater on standby, toaster on high alert

Noticed my years old plastic / metal combo grater has bad case of the bends and major splits and looks like it may enter fail mode any time, another job when next in town:(

It's not even 6 o'clock yet .... but I've already managed to plough my way through all three portions of that AD. Oops. I did try to wait longer for the 3rd one. First one was always going to be an early scoff; second was OK as "still got one left" .... then came the time when I wanted the 3rd one, but feared regret later when I'll wish I'd not been so hasty .... but it was on my mind .... and finally I snapped and ate it :)

355 grams.... when AD sell their ready-made pots they're in 70g pots ... so it was four portions, but I've only got a set of 3 little dishes that "match", so it seemed best to just use those and not seek out 4th pot that was entirely different just to divide it into three. AD want 50p for a 70g pot, that's 71.4/100g. Making my own, even if I'd had the branded AD packed and I bought milk in a 1-pint bottle (so dearest way), it'd cost about 60p to make four....

I guess it's "mostly milk, which is good for you" :)

And, I've had a lot of veggies today for those 5-a-day/10-a-day recommendations, as I had: baked beans, carrots, onions, peas.
