I keep a supermarket carrier bag in my sock drawer.... if I've ever a single sock it goes straight in there... when I've a mind to, I tip them out and see if I've got a pair that can be re-joined... else they go back into the bag and back into the drawer. It keeps the singles separate and helps them to be rejoined to a pair as they're not "floating about" here and there. Single sock found ... it immediately goes into the bag.

No idea re food. Yesterday I made/boxed up two rounds of tomato sandwiches for the fridge. This morning I ate one of those.

I've still got the remainder of the chicken I cooked Friday, which I need to either eat or freeze... so I guess the best thing to do with that is to reheat it and eat it. I was umm-ing and aah-ing over whether to split it into two portions, or leave it as one.... and it's too hard a decision, so I'll just eat it I guess. Not sure yet whether that'll be with rice, noodles or chips :)

Later this evening, as I've got bread, I might do a beans on toast. I had a beans/cheese on toast yesterday .... but it is nice :)

I've still got three apples I bought before Xmas in a six pack.... CBA to peel/cook them... what I should do is peel them immediately, toss in some sultanas ... and cook them down as simple stewed apple with sultanas (maybe add in a pinch of cinnamon) .... and then serve that with custard... but I can't eat that today as I've already got too much food to be eating already ... so then I think "might as well not bother today then, do it tomorrow".

I also have three remaining peppers from the bag I bought Friday, with a half price sticker on. Used two from the bag (one with the chicken/Friday; one as a pizza topping yesterday)... so trying to decide whether to slice/freeze those three today ... or leave it until tomorrow :)

EDIT: I had the sweet chilli chicken (with peppers/onions) I'd cooked Friday. I made up a whole packet of instant noodles (without the flavour sachet) and I dug out a whole/small pack of mange tout I'd bought/frozen. So that's one item that didn't make it into the freezer; one item that's been used up having been in the cupboard 3-4 years and one item from the freezer that was annoying me/cluttering it up :) Three wins :)

I've had half a Valsoia grilled vegetable pizza. Yummy. I only went to bed about 3 this morning and then got up about 3.30 this afternoon.:o:D

    Recipe?:A
I just use a plain tortilla wrap, spray it with garlic fry light, spread pasta sauce , cheese, onion on top, then bake it on gas mark six for about 10-12 mins, or a bit longer if you want it crispy:D

I store my singleton hose in a different drawer and annually hold a moratorium on dead socks and have a clear-out. That's when you stumble across its twin!

Cheese + salad sarnie scoffed for lunch

Def will be full on freezer food for dinner, the fish fingers are big fat posh ones from W/rose and really need oven cooking from frozen, at least it'll warm the kitchen up a bit

Anyone here old & was poor enough, like me, to go to school with socks, not gloves/mittens, on their hands?

Never cared if they matched, although thinking back I suspect they were all standard schoolboy grey wool anyway

    Good afternoon everyone,

Glad errant socks have been located:), I have a small drawstring bag I keep in my undies drawer for singles.
AWOL yesterday due to a storm knocking out the phone/internet in the area. It's still blowing a hooley but thankfully the torrential rain has stopped. Due to go well into the minuses tonight though.:(
I was out yesterday evening for a meal at a local hotel to celebrate a family birthday. I had scallops followed by lamb chops and it was all lovely. :D

Back to CFO today and more mundance offerings, had bacon & egg for brunch and tonight it's roast chicken thigh, veg and a baked spud.

Some of the boys used to do this with football socks when I was at Primary. My Mum used to knit our mittens and then seew them onto a ribbon and thread them through your coat sleeves. Worked a treat at avoiding losing them but you could get in a right tangle is you weren't careful taking your coat on and off:rotfl:

No, I had knitted mittens ... always big enough to put your foot in though! My mum was a really good knitter, so knitted all our cardigans, jumpers, hats, mittens .... then, dresses, ponchos. She was knitting every evening and I often helped her to unravel old items and roll the wool round into skeins or balls.

My mum used knicker elastic, not ribbon :)

You could cook your fish fingers in your airfryer Farway to save putting the oven on :)

It's been wet and windy here Caronc but luckily not as bad as you've had it, I did wake up regretting leaving the bedroom window open, there was a cold breeze coming in 7am :(

Pottering day today getting bits done and filling the recycling bin. I've made next week's soup for lunches it's a little hot  maybe I shouldn't have added the chilli stock pot I found in the cupboard :o it's mainly squash, carrot and sweet potato but also odds and ends from the veg draw including swede, celeriac, 1/2 yellow pepper, stems of purple sprouting and leek.

I also made a lentil and veg lasagna which I'll cook later, should have been two portions but it's three good size ones  I think I'll freeze one I'll have to swap out another RM as I've added a loaf of YS gluten free bread to the freezer and it's taken up too much room
