Bit of a mixed day today, made list for L's to buy on way to volunteering, blooming car wouldn't start:(

Because I'd booked the chiropodist & Drs' I had to go anyway, luckily it's mild & dry so walked and never made L's, short of time

Now better bits. last night's lamb chop was super duper, even though much more expensive they are worth it to me

At volunteer job, a nice lady gave me a Tupperware with HM beef stew in it, Yay, dinner sorted:D, The weather is ideal, dull. I'll nuke it later

Feet done, walking on air, blood test results, passed but rinse & repeat in about 6 weeks

DW update, gets worse. despite not being "on" it had filled with water, but was contained with the DW. Managed to pump it out but it is still not working:(

Looking like I will probably buy a replacement, it is about 10 years old and maybe near end of cost effective life
I am technically able to repair it, but not physically, the fault is probably flood switch, which requires the base plate removing, which means it has to be on it's back, with me on the floor.

No chance, even if I got down there I'sdbe found as a withered corpse by the cleaners, not having a dog to eat me:D

Call out & repair makes buy another more or less in same cost effective range. But that's what "rainy day money" is for

Nice to hear MTSM is lurking:j:hello:

Good lot of stuff in A's PN, I've found early doors is best YS at my L's, but it is hit & miss, which is part of the attraction for me

Lunch was LO last of the beef slices, with salady bits, sarnie

Phoned AA, very prompt response, magic app let's one track them, he was here in 15 minutes
As I suspected it was flat battery, his magic tester showed getting past it, not holding a charge. Kerching!, credit card flashed:(
At least it's now good for probably longer than me;)

Looking like an expensive year so far but thankfully I can afford it without too much worry

PS, mash spuds for breakfast, nice one, could go with pizza

Faraway That has been an expensive start to the year! Good job you have a rainy day fund :T With my massively reduced income (aka student finance and a part time job) I no longer have a rainy day fund, which bothers me but once I have my degree and teaching qualification I'll hopefully be in a position to start one again. I'm fortunate in that my Dad and eldest two children would help if I was desperate but I haven't had to put it to the test yet :o

Caron So pleased to know that Money is still reading our escapades and has got to her target weight  Not too much champers Money :rotfl:

CFO has gone out of the window today as I got busy having started to look for a lost sock in the airing cupboard. As these things do it ended up with me emptying it, having a good clear out and sort out then going to the tip with an old tv that was in my youngest son's room where the airing cupboard is located.

I did get the minced beef base in the oven and it smells amazing but I didn't eat anything until 4pm and it wasn't ready then. In true CFO style I had some crackers, cheese and an apple followed by the crumble and I custard that I made yesterday. I ate it out of the pyrex dish that I cooked it in too :rotfl::rotfl: PN Do you approve? ;)

I can honestly say that I have never eaten haggis or black pudding. I would try them if the occasion arose, even though the thought of whats in black pudding makes me feel a bit _pale_ Anyhoo to those of you celebrating Burn's Night I hope you enjoy it.

    Good evening everyone,
Ouch re the spends Farway, but as you say probably after 10 years more economical to replace than repair. Don't know about your area but we have project that collects then refurbishes & recycles white goods. Those than can be repaired are refurbished and used for starter packs for folk who need, others are used parts and what's left sold for scrap. Could be worth seeing if there is similiar in your area?
Did you find the sock SG?:)
Tbh what goes into haggis is no worse and probably better than a lot of sausages etc. It is an aquired taste though:cool:. I'll forego the dram with it as I'm not a whisky fan (though would rather that than Irn Bru;)) and stick to a glass of red.:)

Caron I don’t find it no  I’ve actually lost two both of which I like. My last Hope was the airing cupboard then ringing my youngest to see if it made its way back to Bangor with him accidentally. He assured me it isn’t so I’ll keep looking. It’s not that I’m overly bothered about the socks but I hate losing things in the house

Hi Money   great news on the diet front :D

Yesterday's frost was replaced by rain and thick fog this morning as least no scraping required

I haven't had black pudding in ages may have to buy some for a cooked brunch soon, I have an Irish BIL and my sister sometimes gets white pudding which I prefer but you don't see it very much down here :). I don't mind haggis either :)

My replacement laptop arrived at work today to replace my faulty 5 month old one  it seems they won't now send out an engineer to set it up and transfer stuff from my old one, even through they did for my colleague last week  Which isn't what made me really angry it was the attitude of the guy offshore :mad: definitely a condescending !!! I wasn't being a 'woman' the keyboard wasn't set to English so the @ key typed " and I couldn't log on, he just kept telling me what the key looked like and to make sure I was doing it correctly :mad: :wall: :wall: an hour later I may have put the phone down with some force and said a very unladylike word very loud  I shocked our very quiet Indian lady who sits next to me and had to reassure the boss that I had hung up before saying it :o. Sorry rant over :rotfl: but I fear there could be more, it's just as well I have low blood pressure.

Lunch was split pea and ham soup although I wanted gin :o. Dinner was steak and airfry chips, fried onions and mushrooms and LO veg from yesterday

Oh white pudding or a mealie pudding now you're talking:D, hard to get round here too. :( Skirlie is easy to make but not quite the same though tasty and good if white pudding eludes:D. https://www.greatbritishchefs.com/recipes/skirlie-recipe

Hope you managed a gin when you got home sounds as though it was needed;).

I know what you mean, I like it but try not to think about it to deeply! They can be difficult to get hold of, but it's worth trying a vegetarian one. Waitrose usually have a Macsween one, they do a packet with a few slices in that's handy, but I'll happily scoff a big one over a few days :rotfl:
