Hard frost overnight, I turned the heating dial to about 6 degrees, but I don't know if it came on for a bit about 3-4am. No heating required this morning anyway (even had the window open).

Saw my first sunlight of the year through the window - for about 15 minutes in total before it moved behind next door.... that's the "trouble" here, I don't get to see that it's sunny outside as I only get the sun at certain times of the day (never after 5pm) and in certain months of the year.

Lunch today will be two hot sausage rolls.

Gave up with the soup I made the other day - and portioned it into two portions and it's in the freezer :)
  • I threw away the last kombucha, that is an expensive mistake I won't make again!:rotfl:

I've had a sandwich and a bowl of strawberries and blueberries.

I think I'm going to have a ready made vegan mac and cheese with steamed veggies later.

Wednesday Do you stay awake all night to match your husband's sleeping/working pattern? It's a really good idea, when my DH was on nights I barely saw him as only one of us was actually in the bed asleep at any one time!

I do try to stay up as late as I can, last night was 2 am.:p The dogs woke me up at 6.30 am just as he was walking in the door.

He usually gets up about 3 pm and leaves for work at 10.30 pm so we see each other quite a lot.:)

  • I was so cold when I got in last night as the rain was freezing. My husband went out into the garden later and said it was snowing! It didn't settle and it seemed to warm up a bit after that.:)

Back from the Volunteer buffet, stuffed full of posh triangle sarnies, sausage rolls, cake & scones:o

Loads left over, so doggy bags were order of the day, so I'm home with beef & horseradish sarnies, sausage rolls, cakes & a scone, which will see me through until tomorrow evening I reckon:)

I'll try & remember to take a lamb chop out to defrost for tomorrow dinner, I fancy it with "baby" potatoes & fresh veg, I've bought some on offer broccoli in L's yesterday

Brambling-- I use juvela white mix for cakes etc.
But used all cornflour for the Yorkshire puds, as I was given a recipe using that ,which I was told turns out well, which they did.

I've been freezing all day today our store, particularly the part I work in, is super cold all year round.i wear lots of thermals and layers but my feet and hands are still cold and I left work an hour ago.
I made spicy patatas bravas with lo chicken with them yesterday and there was enough for today too. I was so thankful just to bung in micro to warm it through.
It was a huge portion so might wait an hour before I can fit in the last piece of cake and custard!!;)

Farway, well done seeing the wolf moon, I looked but it was thick fog, that day!!

I also have not heard any further scuffling from the mouse/rat in my cavity wall for a week so I'm hoping it's gone!!!
Fingers crossed for your viewers making an offer PN.

My cat had a funny one on Sunday ,I was digging up more of the allium, and he kept leaping at my gloves, he even hissed!!
I wondered if it was the smell as I could smell cat, also the onion smell of the allium.

    Good evening everyone,
Hope the DW is fixable Farway - thankfully buffet LOs will mean minimal washing up so a result all round;):D

Glad mousey seems to have moved on wort :)
Well the sunshine didn't last and it got cloudy & murky but not much warmer meaning the ice didn't go. Consequently I've had a day in the house just pottering, one of those days where I couldn't seem to settle to anything! It's raining now but due to freeze again later so another icy one tomorrow morning is forecast.
Lunch was a small bowl of stovies followed by a large bowl of grapes & clementines:). Dinner shortly is naan bread pizza and then I think an early night in my cosy bed with a cuppa and my book.:)

Looks like you got your stove at the right time Caronc :) the frost missed us last night, so no car to defrost :j although I think tomorrow will be very different as when I went out earlier at 7.30pm I had to clear the windscreen :( there wasn't a lot but too much for the wiper to cope with it was very cold as well.

Grumpy cat got his own back last night, he pulled the laundry basket over just before 1am  he uses it as a scratching post, unfortunately it's in the bedroom, I got one heck of an awakening, once i realised the cause of the bang he had taken up residence in it and had to be shaken out  I then had problems going back to sleep and clock watched for the rest of the night :( so I was tired and headachy all day :( Are you sure no one wants a slightly used second hand PITA ?

I had my dental check up today all ok and I got to leave work early :j I may have sneaked out 15 mins earlier than I needed to but I was in at 8.15am and it was lovely to drive home in daylight

Lunch was more of the same soup, last portion will be tomorrow and dinner was also a repeat of yesterday's stir fry veg with crispy tofu.

Hard frost overnight, which I guess meant you had to scrape windscreen free again Brambling?

My heating clicked in during the night so temperature must have dropped a lot, I've over ridden the timer this morning because I'm in all day today, too cold and dull to bother going out

Breakfast was porridge, this time with chopped fresh apple in, the bananas I bought, Hobson's choice in L's, are still green:(

Lunch, it'll be LO doggy bag sarnies
I may have mid morning cup of coffee & doggy bag scone:o

Dinner, I did get the lamb chop out, defrosting ready for tonight

I will have to You tube DW flood switch, I think I know what to do but may as well have a look in case there is a way that avoids oiking out & tipping over

Meanwhile the "in soak" bowls are slowly building up in the sink:o

  • My friend and I went to the theatre on Tuesday evening - free tickets (yay) and she made me cauliflower and Stilton soup for tea before we set off. It was gorgeous.

So, inspired by her efforts I made some last night, googling the recipe and it got the thumbs up from my (very fussy) daughter - only used half a cauli and half a piece of Stilton so I reckon it has cost me £2 - I have some with me for lunch and at least 3 portions in the fridge/freezer. Very MSE!

Have a great day everyone :)
