I have no excuse not to try a black pudding as they're quite famous in the town where I'm from :D

    http://www.buryblackpuddings.co.uk

They do mail order and having bought a hamper of mixed puddings for a friend a couple of Christmases ago I can vouch for their quality :)

Kerching!! dishwasher replacement purchased from @rgos, being delivered sometime Monday between 7AM & 6PM, MSE cheapskate opted for free delivery so time not specified:D

Decision to replace was confirmed this morning, it had flooded again overnight:( Kitchen floor mopped, again
I managed to oik it out & disconnect it, it'll be taken away when new one arrives, only one more washing up day to go:j

I've got a missing sock, maybe it has run away with SG's one to Sock Island?

I like black pudding, buy it if I spot it in YS L's, tried haggis but found it too greasy for my taste. I did look out for the W/r veggie one but never seemed to be around when I fancied one:(

Last night's "free" stew was lovely, even tastier because it was a gift & I only needed to nuke it

Breakfast was porridge, with diced fresh apple & HM yoghurt
Lunch is going to be fried egg sarnie
Dinner planned to be more eggs, frittata thingy using LO veg from lamb chop day

Unexpected food outside of the home....

With the slow cooker providing me with my meal, I suddenly got a text asking for a favour, a 15-16 mile round trip to be made... in about 2 hours' time. So I quickly wolfed down a meal and boxed up the other portion of chicken. Funny thing that, portion sizes; I'd cooked the chicken to be "without a sauce", which then makes a portion look small. You can bury 4-5 small chunks in half a pint of sauce .... but if you serve just 4-5 small chunks it looks a bit "where's the rest?"... so I knew I was having "too large a portion of the actual chicken" (being 200g worth when raw), but I didn't care. Undecided whether to split the remaining 200g into two portions and serve them with a sauce ... or just to eat it :) I'll think about that awhile.

Anyway ... the road trip .... favour done, we popped into a pub for what I thought was "a bit of a little drink".... which turned into two drinks and my companion ordered food.... just a small side dish of chilli/cheese topped chips ... but when it arrived at the table she said to me "you're helping me with this" because she's on a diet. It was really nice though :)

This morning I've eaten the tomato sandwich I made yesterday and popped into the fridge.

No idea what I'll eat later.... might try out one of those pizza bases, I've got chillies, tomatoes, cheese, onions ... and I could even pick out 2 chunks of that chicken and chop it up and plonk it on top... so that'd be sweet chilli chicken pizza! That's almost coherent thinking isn't it, almost "meal plan" like, except I only just thought of that as I was typing up this post and thinking what I could put on a pizza :)

Do you think they’ll have sun loungers and drinks with umbrellas in them on their island? :D I hope so!

Think you did the right thing with your dishwasher. I’m waiting for mine to go really as it’s approx 10 years old now although it doesn’t get the welly it did when there were 5 people living here.

An at home day today as my lurgy seems to have come back for some strange reason and I’m coughing and sneezing again. Back on the magical Benylin medicine for me.

Had a call from my Dad which is unusual as Mum normally does all the chatting and texting and Dad’s phone is for emergencies only. Mum had washed her dressing gown with her phone in the pocket so could I let the family know to contact him instead. A new phone will be bought on Monday. They both have old fashioned brick style mobiles as they don’t use them for anything other than calls or texts. I sometimes wonder about ditching my iPhone and doing the same but I’d probs feel like my right arm was missing. What a state modern technology can be :o

Lunch today will be the rest of yesterday’s tuna in a sandwich and dinner is sausage casserole. It was frozen as a portion of sausage pasta sauce but I’ll add cooked potatoes, beans, some paprika and Worcester sauce to change it up.

After post byCaron I checked duvet cover, and there the blighter was, not on sun lounger with umbrella drinks and SG sock after all, just skulking in a corner of duvet cover;)

Sorry to hear lurgy back SG, bummer that, Benylin, chocolate & Netflix should fix it

If your Mum's phone has been washed I guess the SIM is done for as well? Would her number change? I know when I've washed my phones the lot, including number, was lost
I think some sort of fraud prevention stops number just being passed back, no matter how plausible. Worth a try though
Nothing wrong with brick phones, they work and also not attractive to sticky fingered folk. @rgos have cheap bricks:)

Ingredients, AKA LO's ready for frittata & dinner

Rubbish on TV tonight for me, hello Fletnix, I've started on House of Cards, quite liking it, I liked the UK one as well

After checking every duvet on each bed in the house plus the spares (6 in total) I have found my socks!! Not in the duvet covers but having fallen behind the tumble dryer which is in a small pantry style room that is not easy to manoeuvre about in :rotfl: They had fallen down with 2 bags of carrier bags that are also stored on top of the dryer. Not sunning themselves with cocktails and Faraway’s sock either.

I’ve had a good sort of various cupboards and under bed storage in my hunt so not all bad.
  • I've had half a Valsoia grilled vegetable pizza. Yummy. I only went to bed about 3 this morning and then got up about 3.30 this afternoon.:o:D

Thanks Sunny, I may have to order some white puddling :) although I'm not sure I understand vegan black pudding

Ouch re the DW expense Farway, I'm very much aware that my washing machine and microwave are all reaching that stage.

I spent most of the morning doing housework although I did spend an hour talking to neighbours when I went out to the bin. Unfortunately one side of me lost his wife just before Christmas and the other side has been in hospital for 10 weeks and according to his DIL he's not good it was her I was mainly chatting to. Before we knew it was 1.30 and we were both really cold, I would have invited her in for a cuppa if I knew how long we were going to chat

I just had time for a quick lunch before meeting my sister to walk into town in the rain  I'm happy as I brought a 'hoodie' in Fat Face sale I've been dithering at paying full price for it for a couple of months so was really happy to get 2/3 off :D the only one they had and it was in my size, I didn't see it but my sister did, she has her uses :rotfl:

I brought some YS beetroot wraps, gluten free etc in w*itrose I wouldn't normally buy especially at £2.79 for 4 but didn't mind trying for 50p, I had one with beef and salad for lunch. I'm not sure about them, not sure if it's because they are beetroot colour my brain said they should be slightly sweet or they were  I may turn the rest into tortilla type chips.

Dinner was pork chop, root veg mash, green beans and tender stem broccoli, I had planned lamb steak but the pork chop was closer to the top of the freezer drawer when I went rummaging :rotfl: as I was eating it I realised it was a repeat of last Saturday  but I did enjoyed my mini roast :)

Well ... I know I didn't pay attention while cooking it ... but I didn't think a lot to those 4ldi pizza bases. The base got really hard/crispy.

I wasn't sure how long to cook them for as the destructions were far too small, even with my strong reading glasses on and holding it close to the window/daylight... but I put it in too long clearly (20 minutes; 10 minutes at each of two temperatures).... I'll try the second one just on the lower rack at 160 I think - and if that doesn't work, then the next two I'll do in the SC. I don't want a brittle thin biscuit base :) I like a "tearable" base, no matter how thick/thin it is.

    Topping tasted lovely though :)

SG, maybe we need to set up a "Socks reunited" web site?;), or a sort of Sock Exchange?:D

Very windy out there, sunny & cold, was not going out anyway, and Tuesday's weather is looking grim for us softies down here

Porridge, apple, honey & HM yoghurt for breakfast
Lunch, thinking it will be a cheese + salad bits sarnie

Dinner, all out of freezer today I think, probably fish fingers, chips & peas. I noticed my !!!!!! are past best date, Dec 2018, so thought I'd crack on & makes some space by starting on them

Brambling, I had similar mini roast last week. it makes a nice change and not too much hassle with CFO, especially as I roast the lot in one tray, veg & all

Not this weekend though, sans dishwasher:o

I'll have to be up early tomorrow, just in case @rgos is knocking my door at 7 with a dishwasher, doubt it very much but will be if I'm still in my pit
