My dog seems absolutely fine now! Think it must have been something minor. She is only allowed chew toys and no playing fetch for a week just to make sure.:p

I've had vegan hot dogs for lunch after I got back from feeding the birds.:)

The lunchtime sarnie had a fried egg insert

Dinner, more or less decided it will be frozen breaded cod fillet, with frozen chips and nuked peas. For extra veg I'll add a pickled onion & a gherkin;)

I decided to paw through the freezer, to see what I could get round to using.... I pulled from it a crust and a slice of fruit loaf (Xmas Eve) and two bread rolls (from mid December).

They're now defrosting. I've boiled an egg, which I've just popped into cold water to cool.

The plan is to probably toast the two bits of fruit loaf later and spread a bit of marg on those. The bread rolls will be turned into two cheese/egg/salad cream bread rolls and wrapped in foil and popped in the fridge to be scoffed some time tomorrow.

    Good evening everyone,
As expected the snow didn't last and was quickly replaced by hail/sleet. It's still baltic though. When I was getting dressed this morning I decided to pop a pair of leggings (not something I'd wear as outerwear I'm the wrong shape:rotfl:) under my yoga pants. They are just a cheap pair from Asda but boy have they helped keep me cosy:D.
I must have the tidying/decluttering bug as I gutted out one of my bathroom cupboards this afternoon, didn't get rid of anything very much but my bathroom feels a tad more organised now, though I thoroughly upset a HUGE lurking spider which scarpered behind the loo:eek:. I don't mind spiders so it can happily find a new corner to lurk in as far as I'm concerned.
Lunch was tasty - cheesy beans on toast with tomatoes and spring onions chopped through it. I've half a tin of beans to use up so lunch tomorrow may well be a repeat of today.
I decided to go with the fishy option and a salon portion has been defrosted which I'll steam with charlotte potatoes, the end of a pack of green beans and some broad beans from the freezer.

Don't let my poor housekeeping put you off- gawd knows when the corners of that cupboard were last exposed:o;).

Otherwise open the doors, rattle about with a stick or something and any lurkers should have legged it. Alternatively if you wear specs don't put them on and hope for the best:rotfl:

    Good evening all.

I am finished with exams hooray, whoo hoo etc. Well until May at least, and the new lectures don't start until Monday so I've got a weekend free :D Thank you for the good luck wishes Caron and Brambling.

Unfortunately I am not improving with the lurgy. Temperature, shivery, red raw throat, headache, cough and alternately runny or bunged up nose. I am not impressed. Have spent the day curled up on the sofa in my pyjamas knitting and watching the very long Once Upon a Time in America with a very young looking Robert di Nero in it. Made a change from some of the very bizarre things I often end up watching on youtube.

Food has been random for the last few days as I'm not very hungry. Lunch today was a tin of Heinz tomato soup and tea was sausage pasta as I'd got a pack of sausages out of the freezer and wasn't going to waste them. I had one portion tonight with some cooked pasta and froze a further 3 portions of the sauce so it's there for another day. My stash of homemade ready meals has ran right down with all the revising and I need to get some more made this week.

I hope that everyone (and their poorly dogs) are doing ok?

Faraway A lottery win would be most useful on this thread of everything coming in twos this week!

....one of my bathroom cupboards ....

Ah, the luxury lifestyle! I've zero bathroom cupboards... indeed, only a slim person can use my bathroom. The door opens inwards and nearly hits the bath, you then have to step in, and "huddle" up the side of the sink to close the door - and only if you've got that far can you see that you couldn't have opened the door more than 90degrees as the loo's behind it and the loo seat biffs the door.

    :)

Bathroom cupboards indeed.... "one of..." indeed. :)

    Food:
I've just grated a bit of cheese and made cheese/egg/salad cream rolls, which are now foil wrapped in the fridge... but I kind of defrosted those yesterday thinking I might go out this morning... but it's raining. I'd thought about driving to an indoor market that's about 12 miles away (where I think there's an undercover car boot sale), after that I'd have done a "round robin" and visited a variety of other shops and looked around a general area I might be interested in moving to.... but in the rain that sort of idle driving around isn't pleasant... so I've not bothered.

Adding all that lot up ... it might be an idea to spend a little time pawing through takeaway/home delivery menus and, just this once, create a theoretical order that meets the free home delivery minimum value ... then store that information/phone number in your head so if/when you do feel better you can just order in a "celebrate the end of that chapter" takeaway dinner :) ... creating leftovers for DAYS to come :)
