  • I had to take my dog to the vet last night as she fell and hurt herself and she started shaking.:( I had to get a taxi in the rain carrying her! The vet thinks it's just a sprain and she is on anti inflammatories. She seemed perfectly fine as soon as I got her indoors of course!:D

I've just been to my MH workshop. It was quite good today and everyone got on well. :A

I had a Quorn cutlet quickly before I left and I'm going to make tomato bruschetta in a minute.

Wednesday, hope all turns out well, seems everything in pairs on this board is continuing, c'mon someone, win the lottery:D

Small change of lunch plan, turned into sort of Ploughman's in the end, minus crusty bread. Very nice though

Because sun's out I did half an hour or so garden tidying, the buddlia is now fully shorn, as are the roses. The back is nearly Spring ready, just in time for hard frost forecast tonight

Next thing is spud in the oven, I've decided to "roast" the chop in there as well as oven will be on. MSE:money:

Just had E mail from fellow volunteers, seems even without me going in to cough over them some are down with lurgy and will skip tomorrow, as will I

Impressed with DVLA, I renewed my over 70 driving licence on line Sunday, new one was on the doormat with this morning's post;)

    A random grazing day today:

    2 pieces of toast/marg.
    chilli & chips
    2 hot sausage rolls
    3 chocolate biscuits
    3 chocolate biscuits.

Not bad going as it appears to still only be 7pm :)

    Good evening everyone,

Poor pooch Wednesday you both must have got a fright <<hug>>
That was a good turnaround with the licence Farway.

It's bitterly cold here tonight, no snow thankfully but we might get some tomorrow. We probably will just get sleet but inland a bit get a proper fall of the white stuff.
I've had a gently pottering kind of day which I enjoyed after yesterday's sink leak kerfuffle. Lurgy is still hanging in there:(. I really should have done some cleaning but it will wait until I cba as I'm not expecting any visitors.:)I'm looking forward to my bangers, mash, veg & gravy shortly, good cold-beating winter food.:)

Brambling, great scale news, hoping to follow in your footsteps when I hop on tomorrow, but excuses early, due to lurgy only rubbish has been nibbled this week;)

I've noticed that I never fancy fruit or veg when I'm feeling blah  it's usually something more tempting, sometimes soup but only if I don't have to make it.

Hope the dog is recovering Wednesday :). I use to have a cat who would recover as you walked into the vet, that is until the last visit :(. The vet would say his presence was enough :)

Work's quite repetitive at the moment and a bit same s**t different day but that than can be the nature of the job sometimes, won't kill me but may drive me to gin and chocolate (it can't turn me gray  I already pay for that to go away :rotfl:) I stocked up on the fruit and veg lunchtime and avoided the 'naughties' :silenced: i keep telling myself if it's not in the house I can't eat it, but I have baking ingredients and I'm not afraid to use them ;)

Lunch was the last of the pulled beef cheek ragu and pasta from the freezer, which was needed after going out lunchtime as boy was it cold . Dinner was also from the freezer a spinach and feta filo pie, i know it is similar to the spinach lasagna from earlier in the week but it's been annoying me every time I rummage in the freezer so it had to come out. I made a mistake by defrosting it before cooking and leaving it wrapped so a soggy bottom but tasted good and meant eating less pastry :D LO for lunch tomorrow

    Today it'll be:

Breakfast: 2x toast, as I've got bread to get through.
Meal 1: 2 hot sausage rolls, as I've the last 2 in the pack in the fridge
Meal 2: The remainder of the cheese/mash topped chilli "pie", maybe with beans

There are also chocolate biscuits on the worktop, so they might get visited.

I think that'll be it today ... unless I suddenly develop an urgency to cook something else.

    Good morning everyone,

Bitterly cold and grey here, there's been a few sleet showers but I don't think we'll get snow.
I had an errand to run first thing and I'm glad I didn't have to be out for long as despite many layers I was still chilled when I got home.
I'm not sure about food today, possibly beans on toast for lunch and something fishy for dinner.

The day has started well, following Brambling example, two pounds down, that's the mince pies gone, only trifle, fruit cake & stollen to go now:)

Last night's pork chop dinner was just right, I enjoyed it but glad it was only small portions

Lurgy still hanging on, but improving. My weight loss could be due to gunge blown into tissues this week:eek

Breakfast, back to standards porridge + banana combo
Lunch, a sarnie of some sort, contents undecided for now
Dinner, clueless, I've frozen fish + chips so that is one easy option. There are others, like MFO "dinners" in freezers but none I really fancy with lurgy CBA

PS, Caron, snap maybe "fishy dinner"
