Up and about, had a good night's kip, better than Mrs May had anyway;)
My lurgy seems to be easing, just crackly chest and possible early onset death rattle when I cough
Breakfast of porridge, then off to [STRIKE]blood suckers [/STRIKE]phlebotomist. Failed, my left arm is bloodless, couldn't wring a drop out of it, quick lunge into my right arm produced enough to get on with. Equal patches now, cone of shame not required
Bit of shopping before doc'a appointment, milk, eggs etc, found YS W/r beef pie, and YS pork chop pack. Now need to choose which to freeze & which for dinner
Pie is front runner for dinner so far
Lunch was defrosted YS mine pizza
Brambling, no J Kyle, I'm saving that for when I'm drooling, comatose, wheeled in front of TV unable to fight back:DI'd look like sumut out of The Handmaid's Tale :rotfl:

Up date, plumber's been, new lever taps fitted in kitchen, so easy now. Anyone having tap turning problems I can thoroughly recommend replacing with levers
Dinner decided, now it's raining it is just right weather for YS beef pie, plus frozen mash & maybe open tin of beans. Brown sauce on standbyEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
My chilli was spot on - and today I decided to spoon some out, make some cheesy mash, top that with a bit more cheese, stick it in the mini oven and bake it
And it's utterly .... gorgeous
Normally I'd "skimp" and do all that, but heat it up in the nuker, thus not getting a brown/crispy top... but today, as I started cooking earlier, I decided to do it in the oven so that I was eating my main meal as late as possible in the day (saves me feeling I need to cook again later).
Nearly put beans with it, but CBA.
I've only served half right now, so that'll be covered and go in the fridge later, for tomorrow.... and/but I've still got a tiny portion of chilli left in the fridge... I should've just spooned it all into this creation really ... so I've a small portion of chilli, I've a portion of mash/chilli .... and four sausage rolls (but they have a date of 22nd on, so no worries there).
I can have the small portion with some 4ldi chips tomorrow (to try that out) ... and have the cheese topped portion the following day. That way none gets into the freezer. OR .... I could box/freeze the 2nd half of the cheese topped thing.... hard to decide.0 -
Good evening everyone,
Glad Zeus is home CG:D
Hope everything works okay on the job front wort.
Lever taps are the business Farway, fab if your hands are really manky as you can just nudge them. I have them in the kitchen and when I eventually get the bathroom done:).
IMHO PN the crispy bits on top are always worth the effort:).
My lurgy persists and I've had a "bit of day" today, last night I noticed a little water on the floor between the sink and the cooker which I thought was a spill from clearing up. Wiped it up and thought no more about. Went to make my bedtime cuppa and there was more though not much. Popped a towel down and hoped for the best as there was no sign of it coming from anywhere. This morning when I got up there wasn't anymore. However, I had a bit of a niggle that something wasn't quite right and decided to empty the glory hole aka under sink cupboard and have a proper look and yes there was a leak where the u-bend joins the main pipe to the drain. The joining screw had loosened and it should be easy enough to tighten except it wouldn't tighten. Cue a quick call to the local plumber who popped by, the rubber washer had perished which was why it wouldn't tighten. All sorted now and definitely a tenner well spent:). Cupboard has now been thoroughly scrubbed and put back together after a cull of what was in it but I'm shattered as it was a horrible bendy job....
I had cooked extra pasta last night with a thought of making pasta salad to have with my soup at lunchtime needless to say that didn't happen so I popped some of the pasta into the soup. Blinking good it was too so that will be lunch tomorrow too:).
Naan bread pizza for dinner tonight and a glass wine will feature;)0 -
Glad you got the leak sorted Caronc
Hope Zeus is recovering Candy
Horrible wet day, although the temperature is due to drop tomorrow it should be dry, I haven't manage to walk lunchtimes this week due to work and today's rain so I'm hoping to get out tomorrow, spending too much time in the office can make you a bit stir crazy
Lunch was a HM RM from the freezer it was badly labelled  said lamb and rice so I assumed curry but turned out to be lamb and fennel something? very nice but can't remember what was in the sauce  definitely rosemary and thyme as I saw them and some chopped fresh tomatoes but unfortunately who knows. Dinner was a quick pizza as I was going out, I just added some extra veg to a small cheese and tomato pizza and a sprinkle of extra cheese
Scales this morning say I've lost the last of the Christmas weight gain :j :j I just need to keep on track :cool:Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

I wish! I'm a second year Criminology and Law student and want to teach adults when I've (1) got my degree, (2) have done a teaching qualification and (3) work whilst doing a Masters. I'm an old student at age 52 but plenty of life left in me yet :rotfl:
Good evening all. Lurgy getting worse and all I've 'eaten' today are Lidl lemsips. I've managed to finish my revision on GBH, assault and battery for tomorrow - such cheery subjects :rotfl:
Wort I thought about you when the news about M&S came on. Keeping fingers crossed for you. I'm at uni due to redundancy and being unable to find another job.
Pastures I love the Aldi chips and they also do good bags of wedges for a change.
Caron Hope you recover after your bendy down day and that the wine helped0 -

Good morning everyone,
Good luck with the exam SG!
Bright but very cold here today and it's to go well into the minuses tonight.
I have a birthday pressie to organise so that will be today's challenge.
Soup with macaroni through it for lunch today and bangers & mash for dinner.0 -
Nice to hear leak was minor & sorted Caron, as I read your post I was waiting for the bit about a rat in cupboard:eek:
I keep playing with my lever taps, kid with shiny toy now:o
My lurgy is wearing off, but has left me feeling a bit weaker than "normal". Must be improving though, appetite is returning, last night's pie, mash & beans was excellent
Rained over night, fingers crossed my flat roof "repair" seems to have worked, at least until I get a permanent fix. Sun's out now, but cold
Breakfast porridge, for a change I stirred choc spread in, my bananas are still a bit under ripe. Result was OK but prefer fruit option
Brambling, great scale news, hoping to follow in your footsteps when I hop on tomorrow, but excuses early, due to lurgy only rubbish has been nibbled this week;)
Lunch, I've planned fresh apple & cheese, now I've bought some decent mature Cheddar
Dinner, planned one of the YS pork chops, baked spud & LO beansEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
