Good morning!
faraway So glad that you remain ahead of Ratty
Caron Thank you for the lovely welcome back. I have noticed that PN isn't posting but am not sure why not. Also what has happened to MITSTM?
Plans for today are more revision for my exams which start a week tomorrow  I'm working on my Policing module questions today which are how women protesters at Greenham Common and the Suffragets were policed and how black and ethnic minority people are policed - starting with the 1981 Brixton riots and onwards. Big topics but I'm enjoying them and am learning plenty.
Need to nip out for milk shortly then will be having either beans on toast or a tuna sandwich for lunch. Dinner is going to be a chicken breast roasted with potatoes and carrots and whatever other green veg I find lurking. It may be sprouts or it may be peas :rotfl: such is the excitement of my CFO life!
I am onto the edging of a crochet blanket I've made myself now and will continue with that when I've had enough of Policing.
Unfortunately PN got suspended from the site for a couple of weeks but it should be lifted by now. I'm not completely sure how to check but I think MTSTM may have suffered the same fate:(. Hopefully they'll both be back soon:)The problem re mouse is he seems to stay in the cavity wall! Of which I'm quite glad! But it means most methods of catching him are difficult.
Dgson is here today but not well, tonsillitis and a bad cold, he's due back to school tomorrow, so I e suggested he goes home to sleep, as mouse may keep him awake. He's just had a lightly toasted thin with cheese and chicken on, then pineapple with ginger yogurt.
We're having the obligatory curry for tea. Jalfrezi.
:j
That's for sharing that extract Farway how interesting and what a range of food for breakfast, though I suppose it was a big household.0 -
Farway I've never been over interested in my sister's 'obsession' with our family history but I do like the social issue side of things like your GG Aunts diary
the one time I was asked to go to the records office with my sister to look through the estate books from the local 'big' house now national trust I got in trouble with her for not looking for family names but spending too much time looking at the pencilled notes made by the estate manager in the margins it included who hadn't pay rent, who beat their wife etc.
Caronc I think PN was released from the sin bin on the 31st but looks like she hasn't been back, hopefully she will feel she can come back soonI think I saw that if you have the older version of the forum you can see under their profile if they have been suspended
I've done some cooking this morning making soup for work lunches, sweet potato, butternut squash, pepper soup I made a couple of portions of chilli when I was at the stove. The jerk chicken is in its marinade and I've eaten the scotch eggs I made for lunch. I'll make the dirty rice when the chicken is cooking later but for now I'm sitting with a cup of tea thinking that I'm going to have to put stuff in the freezer  it's never going to empty is it

I suspect PN has opted out for the time being, can't say I'd blame her
Money, not sure but sin bin could be right, I know she was "discussing" over on prepping for Brexit thread and somethings were getting warmed up, I now just lurk there now, my life is too short for such things
I opted for onion in the lunchtime cheese sarnie
All that is left to do now is get stew onto simmer and add a couple of dumplings
I just may clean the "in soak" cast iron ex beef stew pot while I waitIt is not burnt on, just bleurgh and I wish I had a Victorian era skivvy to do it, trouble is that would probably be me, as a Pot Boy:eek:

We were both in bed until about 2 as we both have the cold now. The cold on top of my ear/sinus infection. I don't know what is going on, seems like one thing after another!
I've made some tomato and sweetcorn pasta for lunch with vegan cheese on top and then a packet of chickpea crisps called Hippeas.
Lots of sparkling water as well.this brought back childhood memories Caronc
winter Sundays were roast lunch followed by a long country walk and arguing whose turn it was to toast bread in front of the fire when we got home probably watching black Beauty, Follyfoot or a more cultured Austin or Dickens on TV. The toaster also got the warmest spot in the bungalow as the fire was the only heat
toast tastes completely different done over a fire even the black bits :rotfl:
Oh yes, I remember those shows.Good evening everyone!
I have been MIA for the last 18 months as I changed my degree and life got verrrry busy! I'm still here though and still CFO.
For all the new faces I am a 52 year old mature uni student who was widowed 6 years ago. My kids are now aged 26, 24 and 20 and all live away from home.
I was used to cooking for a family and utilising all sorts of tricks when I was working full time, but struggled with CFO - the quantities, the repetition and general CBAness somedays.
I hope that you all don't mind me jumping back in?

Good evening everyone,
It's been a wet & miserable day a good day for pottering indoors:). I'm making slow but steady progress in my cupboard sorting out. I decided to change around what goes where so that involves parts of another cupboard and the cupboard under my bookcase so it's a job that has grown arms and legs. While I like the house to look tidy I'm definitely a bit of a pack rat when it comes to cupboards and drawers so I'm being pretty ruthless about what stays and what goes:).
I'm for an easy dinner of scampi, oven chips, sprouts and green beans. Lunch was bacon, egg and tomato with a splosh of HP.0 -
Well guys if I disappear it's probably not because I've been sent to the sin bin but because the men in the white coats have carted me off  I think lack of sleep is catching up with me this afternoon  four cups of tea have sat and gotten cold, with two not making out of the kitchen, I didn't add enough water to the rice (Farway if you PM me your address I'll send the burnt saucepan to you to clean with your manky pot) I rubbed tired eyes with chilli fingers
and then I opened a sachet of cat food and emptied it straight into the bin
really confused the cat :rotfl:
I salvaged most of the dirty rice and peas in fact there seems to be four portions leftso dinner was jerk chicken with the rice and some green veg. I'm off to rejigging the freezer to fit in LO otherwise I will be eating it all week :wall:
Wednesday you definitely seem to have been hit with one thing after another the last few weeks, looks like lots of fruit and veg and rest needed this week to try and recover <<hugs>> hope you didn't pick up germs in the doctorsLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Evening all!
brunch today was a ciabatta roll with ham
Dinner was a pork chop, potatoes, carrots and cauliflower
Hope tomorrow is a better day for everyone who is under the weather today0 -
