    Good morning everyone,
I remembered I had a bunch of prawn shells in the freezer so they have been added to the salmon stock and it's back on simmer. My neighbour's cat was sorely disappointed that it's not for him:rotfl:
Damp, grey and raw this morning and still feeling bitterly cold, one of those days that don't seem to get properly light:(.
Domestic challenge for today is to restore my bedroom to the oasis of tidy calm I like it to be:) - it has become a bit of a dumping ground over Christmas.:o
Lunch will be a sarnie of some description, salady bits and fruit. Tonight I'll have some of the LO lamb & gravy with veg and mash. Might turn it into a shepherds pie or more likely will just have as is. What's left of the lamb/gravy after dinner will be getting squeezed in the freezer. The freezers are very full but I think as much as anything they are needing reorganised.

'morning all, at last the sun's out, we've been part of the dull & grey bit of UK for past few days, now our turn for some sun, but it's colder now

    Porridge for breakfast
Then house type stuff, washing on
HM yoghurt made & in the fermenter thing
Beef stew assembled and in the cast iron pot in low oven, it looked & smelt yummy even before it's cooked

I found two small tins of beans, borlotti & another type, not red kidney, LO from my veggie days and need using up. Not enough room in the stew but maybe add later once it's cooked down a bit

Lunch to be a cheese & onion sarnie
All the weight I lost last year I seem to have put back on again (although some might be muscle mass).

Same here, but mine's certainly not muscle mass, unless bellies have muscles?:D

    Another ratty free day:o

Update, stew checked, more water added, plus tin of unknown beans were Pinto, stirred them in

I'll make some dumplings to pop in later

Has a sip on stirring spoon, this stew has hallmarks of a tasty one:j

I had a yoghurt with my first antibiotic this morning and then a sandwich with my second one. One more to go today. I have a vegan pizza in the freezer so that might be the third meal today. I might have berries with the choc Ben & Jerry's afterwards.

I actually fancy a bean stew with rice but really CBA to cook today!

Obviously dieting has gone out the window for the time being too, lol.

When I went out to the GP last night I was standing next to a man at the underground station and he had a box of takeaway food and he dropped his plastic knife and fork on the ground. He looked so p*ssed off that it made me giggle. He saw me laughing as I was standing right next to him.:o:o:o

I was in the chemist afterwards and I managed to drop my entire collection of change all over the floor in front of everyone. It was about £20 worth of change in my purse.

That will teach me for laughing at him. Karma.:rotfl:

    Good evening everyone
Stew sounds lush Farway - hope you enjoyed it:)
:eek:re the change dropping Wednesday but :rotfl::rotfl:re the karma;)
I made a start on my bedroom and it is certainly less cluttered than it was, but it definitely a "work in progress". I have a couple of cupboards that are full of random things. On the grounds that I'm not sure what's all in them I reckon most of it can go but quite a big job to sort out and I wasn't feeling bendy enough to tackle it today.

Lunch was a cheese, ham & pickle sandwich with tomato salad and a bowl of grapes and strawberries. Tonight I'm having lamb shoulder in gravy, mash, LO carmelised shallots that need using and sprouts. My house is smelling very fishy but the stock is lovely - well worth the pong:). I'll get a scented candle burning once it is cooled and in the fridge.

Glad to see your Siberian Hamster has gone Farway :D. It's definitely beef stew weather now

Attack of the laziness today so I sat in lunch time and read rather than going for a walk, I decided it was too cold so I would end up in a shop buying something I don't need. However I was good and talked a colleague into having the last cupcake left from a birthday, I did stand for a while glazing at it whilst I made the tea but talked myself out of it :D

Lunch was the last of the chicken soup, it's probably my favourite soup and the reason I buy a whole chicken :p Dinner was LO veg from yesterday root veg mash, green beans and broccoli pinged with some fresh gravy and a lamb steak from the freezer pan fried with a dollop of mint sauce

I dont really eat breakfast, but have a brunch instead. Today was grilled cheese on toast and dinner was a fish cake, 2 hash browns and cauliflower

Lamb here too Brambling though LO shoulder instead of a steak. Found a small tub of LO garlic & rosemary roast charlotte spuds so had those instead of mash.

Apart from the mash I made yesterday and the fish stock today, I finally seemed to have used up all the lurking LOs in tubs:). One portion of lamb & gravy has gone into the freezer.

Welcome Shoogly Peg  you'll find our cooking varies from sausage rolls to steak with vegan and vegetarian ideas added in as well :) and we have been known to encourage the eating of things like crumpets and choc ices, I'm blaming Farway if trifle appears in my menu planning soon :D

How did you cook your lamb shoulder Caronc? I think lamb tastes better cooked on the bone in a large joint but rarely cook it  I walked away from a YS shoulder in W*itrose on Wednesday looked lovely but no room in my freezer for a whole shoulder :(. The lamb steak was one of four half price ones I brought a couple of months ago I do like how quickly they cook when I cba :D
