I had a toasted pitta with red pepper houmous and coriander this morning. I had a cup of coffee too.
I just made a big batch of tomato and lentil soup. I had a bowl and have three more lots in the fridge.:)
I fancy pizza and salad tonight. I have some of those little bases but might need to get some other things from the shop again! Sweetcorn, tomatoes and passata as I just used the last carton of passata for the soup!yup cold sore is in fact the shingles, talk about lousy timing.
Sorry to read that,:( my mother-in-law just had that too.soup with oven cooked cretins
That made me lol!:rotfl:0 -

All I've done so far is type in 2-3 postcodes and seen the boundary lines... then I was bored.
Can you recommend anything on the site to explore/have a nosey at?
Nowt "nationally known" - unless you fancy looking up 10 Downing Street for instance:rotfl:
You click within the red boundary lines of any property you are interested in and a left-hand panel will come up and will tell you the type of ownership/hopefully price paid/etc. Over on the right-hand side are icons to click on - can't recall whether they were any use to me. You can zoom in a bit for a closer look at a satellite view of the properties concerned.
I've just been looking up every house I can think of personally. So I've checked:
- my first house = no surprises there
- my parents house = I'd had "suspicions" about an odd little bit of land near recreational land and found it was owned by a pension fund (think it's a "ransom strip")
- my brothers house = there's quite a substantial bit of scrap land one side of it - that has a "private owner" and I can see some of my brothers garden features extend into that bit of scrap land (well he "might" have bought it - but then, on the other hand, it's all rather "hidden" from the road and I know my brother better than he wishes I did. So I would not be surprised if he's "adversely possessed" it:eek:)
- best friends house - no nasty surprises
- my current house = astonishing what a high proportion of these 1970s houses nearby havent changed owner in the last 30 years or so - ie they're still showing as Unregistered. Also, I found out something useful to know about my own house - confirmed suspicions I had that someone doesnt own communal land they have been making out they do own and they won't be able to "adversely possess" it and are definitely "up to summat" I suspected they were.
- nearby properties = several houses in a row look as if they've nicked a bit of our public land (that "adverse possession"). Well it's either that - or they've got some very odd boundaries..always helps to know whether one can trust someone or - no - as in this case). If someone has gone in for "adverse possession" - I'd rather know they are someone I don't wish to know.
So that comes up as a 60% chance you will find out something you didn't know if you put in a handful of "houses you know best".
You might find it useful for finding out about nearby buses to houses you are considering - one can see bus stops indicated and which number buses use that stop.0 -
Hi all and welcome GP
Mel have you though about taking a flask of HM soup for lunch, that way you wouldn't have to ping itthis time of year I make a lot of vegetable soup for lunches, it also uses up odds and sods of veg CFO tends to generate. Wednesday you've reminded me I haven't made tomato and lentil for a while
Pizza for lunch today, it's my sister's birthday tomorrow and my nephews were taking her for lunch and I got an inviteO2 priority also meant we all had £5 main courses
. My nephew made a lovely birthday cake as well for when we got back, he's working tomorrow which is why we did it today
Dinner was just a burger and salad with no bun  but another item out the freezer :TLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Shingles is nasty Caronc ,hope you're ok, and take it easy. I'm sure Saturday went well for you.
Brambling, people with house cats often grow catmint inside! If that's an option! Not trying to set you up as a drug farm or anything!:rotfl:
Friday I met up with friends for lunch and I had salmon in dill sauce with pots and veg. With a nice glass of wine. Tea was jalfrezi with rice as dgson was here.
Yesterday I worked so cba tea was fish fingers on a roll with cheese. And a slice off the aero like choc from aldi.
I'm working again today and have no clue what tea will be! I really need to think of a bit of a meal plan for this week.
The bathroom is finished and I love it! Pity it's so small as I'd live in it!!Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -
'morning folks
My HM chicken soup turned out exceptionally tasty last nigh. It is not reproducible though because it was a BITSA recipe, but some items were sweetcorn, mushrooms & phake Philly
I had two bowls plus the oven baked cretins
I've got half a pot left for tonight:)
Dull day, staying in doing "office work".
Breakfast of porridge etc
Lunch is veering towards LO beans, on toast & maybe fried eggs on top
Dinner definitely the HM soup repeatedThe bathroom is finished and I love it! Pity it's so small as I'd live in it!!
Glad it's done. Mine is like that, beats the rest of the house hands down:(Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Morning gang,
Popped into the next estate early this AM to get the newspaper. A nice little write up and a picture as part of a bigger write up on the event it's for.
Came home and then went out again for the weekly food shop. Mum is coming to stay on Tuesday night, so that we can go down to London for this opening ceremony on Wednesday evening.
We've got to go down separately, as I'm due there for 9ish to do more press interviews and the like, then there's a launch party at 6:30, which mum is coming to. Busy, busy. We're then staying in London overnight.
Then Thursday we're staying in London for a get-together with one of dad's cousins, who lives near by. We've not seen her since his funeral, so it'll be nice to catch up.
Which reminds me, I'll go and book my train tickets now.Because it's fun to have money!

I'm going to go for a walk and then make salsa and rice and beans when I get in.
Oh, I forgot about the lentil soup. Might have that for lunch and then the other thing tonight.2025 GOALS

The daal went well last night even if I didn’t have all of the ingredients, I’ll have to add it to the meal plan again to have another try. I had a drink of port after, I nearly always get a bottle given to me for Christmas (I ended up with two last year) so want to get the last bottle finished off before then.
Today’s breakfast was a large mug of coffee and 2 fried egg rolls to use up the last of the packet. I have a Bonfire party tonight so I’ll get feed there...not sure what it will be.
The weeks meal plan has been written up and it can be mostly done without going food shopping, I’ll need to pop to Tesco after work on Wednesday to pick up more fruit, sweetcorn and oat milk but that should be it till I go on holiday the following Monday evening.0 -
Loaded the nimbus ... and it showed something interesting (to me) re boundaries of an adjoining development.... the people there don't understand/know that they own different strips of the land, they think it's "shared".
What I noticed is of no consequence... but I was interested to see it for myself
Also, the developer here left themselves a strip of land.... for no good reason as it's a 1' wide landlocked strip. Who knows how that happened, maybe they made mistake.
It is interesting how it shows the boundaries... I know they aren't "exact", but it's interesting to see roughly what's what.
Lovely food last night. SC chilli, served with 4 sides... and a sponge pud/custardOverate!
Breakfast this morning was a sliced/toasted bread roll topped with baked beans and scrambled eggs.
No idea what on earth I can eat later, got nothing in ... probably end up with chips.... although I've nothing to go with chips either and I don't fancy making a cheese omelette to go with it. Might be cheesy chips and beans.0 -

Could it be a ransom strip? - ie a tiny bit of land that someone somewhere hopes will be wanted for access to future development or the like. They've worked out they will let that "someone/somewhere" have that tiny bit of land - but charge a hefty price (ie "ransom") for it if they get the chance.
Hence what I think is possibly the case re an odd strip of land near my parents house. Years back the land the other side of a row of back gardens (including my parents) had a private owner. Funnily enough  since those houses were built and my parents etc moved in - that bit of land got taken over (one way or another) and is now Council property and amenity land. It's a distinct advantage those houses have got. I'm wondering if that odd strip of land nearby was bought by that pension fund that owns it back before this happened - as they were hoping the amenity land would get built on and they could charge a "ransom" to a developer for that. Followed by said pension fund never clicking since they'd been "cut off at the pass" on that one by local residents nearby:cool::rotfl:. I couldnt possibly comment on what those local residents nearby might have done - considering my mother was/is one of them.....ahem... LOL.
I'd say it would be nice for those nearby residents to you to know about the specific bits they owned - rather than just thinking it's communal. They might take a bit more pride in it for one. It would also solve any queries anyone has in mind about maintenance of it - as each person would be responsible for maintaining their bit of it.
I've got the reverse situation here. I've got neighbours making out that a bit of land is theirs and I've found it's Council land - so it's good to know I can use it too if I wish to (which they certainly weren't lettting on about).0
