I would say take it easy Caronc but I guess that will have to wait until Monday
hope all goes well Saturday night
Sounds like you will have a busy but fun few days Flubberzing
I had to smile re the smoke alarm comments as the last time I changed my battery it was 3am and I was standing in my birthday suit (sorry TMI) wobbling on steps on the landing trying to get the battery out whilst half asleep when I though it's not going to be pretty if I fall I had visions of my sister finding me naked at the bottom of the stairs, not a pretty sight :eek::rotfl: many years ago when they started to give them out to OAPs a elderly friend of my mum was driven mad my an intermittent bleeping for several days, she even got her son to check there was nothing trapped in the blocked off chimney, luckily a friend popped in and knew :rotfl:
Novice I frequently take in LO meals or soup for work when I freeze meals I try to include the rice etc and veg so it's a complete meal and then just ping in the microwave, ideal if you're working late
First heavy frost today so I needed my porridge when I got to work. I was a little disorganised last night and forgot to plan for today's lunch so I just had LO Stilton cheese and biscuits with apple and grapes. Dinner was a YS W*itrose chicken schnitzel with Katsu spices with HM chips and veg. I don't think I'll buy it again but that's the joy of a good YS price, you can try something newthere's another lurking in the freezer which I'll eat when it floats to the surface :rotfl:

I used to book out 2-3 press photographers a few times a week and see all their returns... they'd typically return with 5-10 photos and use no equipment to speak of, just their knowledge and camera ... maybe they might've had the odd light in the car, but there was no piles of equipment being loaded...
I was working with one of the top UK crews/preferred suppliers for "doing this type of photo to go with articles in the nationals" stuff
I could see a lot of it was all about "jobs for the boys" with their boarding school contacts and similar.... lots of ex-posh boys with top educations, "meeting the right people in the right social circles to get on the inside track"... not a nice industry either....
Sounds like it was someone "normal" on this occasion doing the job - but I was remembering that I think it was a society photographer that married one of the older generation of the Royal Family wasnt it?? - ie married Margaret (Windsor?)
I am guessing there is a lot more of "keeping things for Us (ie a small group of people)" going on in Britain as a whole than most of us realise. Yep...I have a (:() feeling I know who my new neighbour might be:(:(. They can't be as bad as the old one - if only because they've not been around in the house since Year Dot. But it's clear that the group of houses mine is in are regarded as "being for Us" locally here. I'm not sure how I managed to buy mine actually -as they are so much regarded as "Ours locally" - and am wondering whether I got charged the "Incomer premium" I've been told exists here and that's why I got it.
Keep your fingers crossed it's going to be sold freely to "Anyone/everyone" and not "reserved for Us" as I'm coming to suspect it is. I've had quite enough "heated discussions" about doing things the standard/official/legal way (that would be me then) v. some rather more obscure way I neither understand or agree with.

On the house front - Pastures - did you find anything of interest on that Nimbus Maps site? I checked out my brothers house yesterday - and found out something he hasn't been telling us.0 -

That's what I thought! Never anticipated lights, reflectors, furniture moving as part of the process! :rotfl:
I got the impression he works solely for the Express and is their photographer for the Midlands area. He told me he can even go as far as Peterborough, which from Birmingham is a bleep of a trek. That could push 2 hours, easy, if the traffic was heavy. Rather him than me, but he said he enjoys the variety, and the sense that "every day is different", which I can understand.
Treated myself to a Costa coffee and a panini, which I hadn't had for ages. Used to go every week, but now only once a month.
Popped into Waitrose for pizza, chicken wings and a chocolate brownie dessert, which was on special offer. One or the other will be nice in front of the telly this evening.Because it's fun to have money!

Good morning,
Well its been over a month and a half since dd#2 went to Uni and I still haven’t really adjusted to cooking for 1 yet, I’ve still made enough for 3. However I have made sure I’ve frozen all the leftover portions. I thought I’d continue until I had 15 separate meals then live off the frozen stuff, therefore hopefully saving some cash (I was dreadfully wasteful when girls were at home, leftovers went in the bin ) I am a cook from scratch girl, although working 4 13hr shifts straight a week means I have to be super organised. I find cooking a good de-stresser after a hard day at work. I’m slowly getting over my reheating food phobias due to necessity.
I’ve still not got a grip on lunches though. I can’t guarantee where or when I will get a break so I can’t rely on heating up leftovers. However I cannot continue eating junk as my waistband is ever increasing!!
I really enjoy reading the posts on here, even if I do not always make a contribution, gives me lots of ideas!
Have a great weekend.0 -
I'm pursued by battery Devils. TV remote ones were flat. I keep spares of that type luckily
I suppose in reality they are much the same vintage and I've used all there was in them
Breakfast porridge, banana etc
Removed my HM chicken soup from the fridge and I'll get to work on it this afternoon, my intention is bowl of yummy HM chick & mush soup with oven cooked cretins:)
Sum total of prep this morning is remove the fat scum whilst it is still cold
Lunch, LO mini pork pies & more piccalillimoneyistooshorttomention wrote: »Sounds like it was someone "normal" on this occasion doing the job - but I was remembering that I think it was a society photographer that married one of the older generation of the Royal Family wasnt it?? - ie married Margaret (Windsor?)Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
After disappearing from the money saving expert forums for over a year I’m now back and ready to get my meal planning and budgeting back under control.
Hopefully the action of typing up what I have eaten for the day along with writing a meal plan for the week will improve the quality of what I eat (need more veggies and less nachos for dinner)
As it is now November along with it being a weekend I have so far had a nice big bowl of porridge with a large table spoon of mince meat stirred in. I don’t have anything planned for lunch, I tend to find that I’m not as hungry at the weekends but hope to make Daal for the first time for dinner. I have most of the ingredients for a recipe I found so will use what I have, it should be fine without onion or yoghurt.0 -

All I've done so far is type in 2-3 postcodes and seen the boundary lines... then I was bored.
Can you recommend anything on the site to explore/have a nosey at?
Food:
I had that last frozen/defrosted crust topped with beans and cheese for lunch. It was a bit of a skinny/thin crust, not the deep/fat ones. It's hit and miss where the slicing machine ends up isn't it.
"Being fed" later, so that'll be it for me for today ... except scoffing chocs randomly from the bag of "my favourite chocs".0
