I have been loosely following Weightwatchers points (at home) over the past two weeks while I've been walking at least an hour everyday as well.

I stepped on the scale and I lost 8 pounds in 14 days!:T

I'm really happy with that as I have struggled to lose weight for a while now. I'm sure the weightloss will slow down a bit now though.

I like veggie samosas. I used to really like Jamaican patties, I grew up in Lewisham and I used to be able to get nice ones from a stall in the market.:)
Oh I've not had a Jamaican patty since I worked in Peckham in the 1980s - definitely not weightloss fodder but so tasty:)
That's a fab amount to lose:) but probably not a bad thing if it slows down a bit now.

I've still got roses in bloom, and I found some Yellow Balcony toms lurking under the foliage in the conservatory. Just enough for adding to a salad soon
Oh lucky you Farway wish I still had tomatoes growing, I'm down to the last handful of green ones ripening on a tray!

    Good evening everyone,

Oh my come early afternoon my oomph had completely disappeared so I didn't get everything done that I'd hoped. I'll need to rattle about tomorrow before the fire guy arrives. I'm not surprised as the past few days have been pretty full on so I just gave in and had a lazy afternoon:cool:.
I thought I was having a proper "wonky donkey" moment earlier but turns out it was the wheel on my rollator that was wonky not me,:rotfl::rotfl:all sorted now ;):).
Dinner is definitely going to be a bung it in the oven - swithering between chicken wings or breaded pollock. Didn't get my meal plan done:o- another thing for my "to do" for tomorrow after I've gone through the fridge properly.

Glad the party went well Caronc, gin is a good cure all :rotfl: sounds like you need to take it easier for a few days to recover :)

    Great weight loss Wednesday :D

Busy day today, catching up on last week holiday plus my usual beginning of month work, I was a little grumpy by the end of the day, not helped by trying to sort out one of our overseas offices who kept sending me 'top urgent' emails to get me to rectify a year worth of errors on their part  not going to happen within their deadlines as they clash with mine  Is Monday too early to hit the gin :rotfl: luckily my colleagues knew not to 'poke the bear' this afternoon and kept me supplied in tea and biscuits :)

Lunch was lentil and cheese loaf with salad, it could have spent a little longer in the oven i used a deeper pan than usual but didn't increase the cooking time, it tastes nice just a little wet

Dinner was pork chop, new potatoes, mashed swede and carrot, green beans and broccoli with enough LO veg for tomorrow :)

I had a tomato sandwich for lunch.

Somehow.... I ended up going out and coming back with sausage rolls.... so I had two sausage rolls for tea.

Also about 6 chocolate digestives... and four squares of chocolate....

And, just for good measure... I had cheesy chips and beans.

All food groups successfully covered I think :)

Thank you - yes easy does it for a few days.
Lentil & cheese loaf yummy not made one of those in years - not sure why!
After all my swithering dinner ended up being scrambled egg cooked with tomatoes and mushrooms on a buttered roll. Quick, easy and tasty :)
  • Morning all, hope you are all well?
I've taken your advice PN & bought some sandwich thins to take to work for tonights tea, with a couple of bourbon biscuits & a pack of crisps. Probably will have to take 3 thins cos they're pretty small...Tuna & sweetcorn filling just about to be made.

I'm going to weigh myself at the end of the week to see how much weight I've lost. I didn't have to make a snack last night, so at least I didn't come home hungry. "Lunch" is always about 3pm, so it's neither lunch nor tea, & I usually only end up eating some toast for brekkie & the work sandwich each day I'm on late finishes. Fridge is woefully empty.

Started walking the 2 miles to work & back again. The fresh air & exercise helps my mood. & It's nice to actually see some daylight.
  • I had weetabix with raisins and soya milk for breakfast.

I have more of that lentil soup for lunch. I'm going to have it with mashed potatoes today.

    Oh yes, Peckham! :)

I had my first/only Jamaican patty this summer. Simply never ever been anywhere where they were present before...

I was somewhere where they were selling them (the people looked the part and had a themed Caribbean style kitchen going on) ... and my companion said "Go on, I used to eat loads of those in London they're lovely" - so I did ... and so did my companion. It was from here: https://www.thescottarms.com/jerkshak/

I thought "pfft, nothing to write home about".
My companion said "that's nothing like the real thing!"

That's the trouble with food, when you first try something you need to be with somebody who knows how it should be, so you know whether what you had was the right thing, or a dud.

Yes, you can buy them from the supermarket too but they don't taste the same at all. It's like when you eat spring rolls from a shop but they don't taste like the ones from the Chinese takeaway.:D

More battery deaths to report:cry: This morning it was the toothbrush's turn, luckily with that item one can switch to manual:)

Into L's, mainly looking for batteries & tinned corned beef
The smoke alarm size are back in, plus toothbrush size bought because they were there
Zero tinned corned beef, I suspect it has been kicked to one side by all the Christmas stuff.
I have plenty in but was restocking because I fancy corned beef hash with the LO mash

Into doc's on way home to book an appointment, tum tablet review. nearly found myself in the chippy opposite but resisted for the moment

Lunch was a fried egg sandwich as warm consolation for F & chips

    Dinner, baked spud & salad.
I was given 6 large FR eggs this morning at volunteering:j, one of which went in my lunch, two more are dinner.
I may grate some cheese as well

I'd not heard of the lentil loaf, just looked it up & seems easy enough for me to try out sometime, not sure if I've got any lentils left, they are not something I use really but there were some from way back in my Veggie phase so may be lurking somewhere

I'm still fancying pork chop, I must have been distracted by YS or something because never did get one

I tried a pack of one of those once, didn't like the texture - and they appeared to be quite easily convinced to fall apart. They're quite pricey "each", so I'd rather have bread :)

£1 for a pack of six ... if they were nice then fair dos... but I found them most peculiar and unsatisfying.

Finding that L1dl's hash browns can disappear for months, I stocked up with a 2nd bag yesterday.... trouble is, if you use them you still run out - and if you don't use them then the freezer's full.... so it's impossible to win.

It's no longer the cheap meat it used to be is it.

    Food:

Today I had an apple mid morning and two sausage rolls for lunch.

I've made two rounds of tomato sandwiches which are boxed up in the fridge in case I get peckish.

I do need to knock up a kebab in the next 3 days... so keen not to forget to do that and end up freezing the lamb.

Tea will probably be .... jacket spud, beans, cheese - because I bought spuds, so have to get through them... and it's nippy ....

Not saying this one's any good ... but if you've not got a SC and just want a cheap one to try out ... this is 3 litres... which is about right for 1-3 sized portions of most stuff.

    And it's just £10. https://direct.asda.com/george-home-3l-slow-cooker-stainless-steel/001585477,default,pd.html

Note: if you're new to them, note that this just has off, low, high.
Why does that matter? It doesn't, except some have "Auto" which turns down after an hour - and without that you have to do it manually. Also, some have "keep warm", which you might not need.

Mine doesn't have auto; mine has keep warm and I've never used it.
