Hmm, bit late posting, MSE took a mini break and my post went with it:(
Up early, wanted to take advantage of sun & breeze to put washing out, rain forecast tomorrow
Pegging the washing out I couldn't but notice my Merton Thornless blackberry flowers in the morning sun, this year I've trained it up in a sort of arch, covered in flowers, and from a distance it could be mistaken for a rose arch. Fits my garden cunning plan, flowers that fruit
Off into town, compost and mooching.
Dinner was decided in Asda, YS fresh fillet salmon, plus YS broccoli.
Into W/rose, for milk but spotted YS https://www.waitrose.com/ecom/products/waitrose-pome-dei-moro-tomatoes/006290-2796-2797 down to 69 from £2
Supposed to be "intensely sweet", thought I'd try and maybe save some seed for 2019. The couple I've eaten so far are nothing special, good job it wasn't 2 quid I spent. Maybe imrove as the age?
Lugging the compost back indoors, thank goodness for my shopping trolley, saw a neighbour had put a tray of "help yourself" free courgette plants out. Now I have an unplanned courgette planted out the front:o. Always find a space somewhere
Lunch was new tin of corned beef opened, I'm getting fed up with cheese, think I'll be squeaking soon. Had CB & tomato sarnie for a nice change
Dinner will be the YS salmon, steamed in a foil parcel, along with YS broccoli, LO limp celery, new spuds and some thing else as yet undecided from the freezerEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Was summer weather here today - so somewhat tired from going out taking advantage of it for a walk in the direction of a beach.
Followed by ...ahem...more Internet browsing and plans made to spend yet more money - you can guess on what at the moment - ie my garden. But that will be basically that on the garden then until I can rip lots of it at some future point and pretty much re-do it.
So - cba still and feeling bit tired - and dinner was a bit of a use-up. So sorta ratatouille type baked vegetables, steamed new potatoes and some vegan "sorta Parmesan" scattered over the top. Full now - and, funnily enough, the housework planned for today didn't happen (ie as I was spending so long checking out exactly what I require for my garden).0 -
Kitchen's been a bit awkward for 2-3 days as I was doing a tiny bit of painting and turning a small job into something stretching several days
The method is: "Dab a bit ..... go off and rest .... go back and do a bit ... go off and rest.... ah, look, it'll be getting a bit late soon to be doing this, so stop...."
I had two hot sausage rolls for lunch - and in a bit I'll have a bread roll filled with boiled egg and tomato as I've got tomatoes to use up and bought bread rolls earlier today0 -
Good evening everyone,
It's been an absolutely cracking day here, too hot too plant until early evening so a good excuse to laze in the garden with my book and a cold drink (fresh orange, tonic and lots of ice):D. I did get quite a bit done once the sun had moved over a bit but my there is still so much to do!
My house really needs some housework doing but as we get so few really good days of weather I decided it could wait.....
Slight change of plans for dinner as I'm popping the oven on to heat up quiche I'm going to have a baked spud instead of some Jersey Royals. Veg to go with it will be the rest of the beansprouts, baby corn and whatever other bits I can cba chopping quickly stir fried but I'm definitely holding back on the spice tonight:)0 -

money, you might be interested and so might others over 55
nationwide are proposing a lifetime interest only mortgage for over 55s. Very exciting, it means that people can move/escape or get jobs done without having equity release
I am hoping for cba stuff to eat tomorrow as in a small quiche tart, ready made salad stuff and hot sweet potato chips. I have some jobs to do like going to the tip and supermarket and I know I will be cba when I get back0 -
PasturesNew wrote: »I had it once, in a staff canteen .... it was awful. I'd not try that again. I know it's got tomatoes (which are OK) and courgettes (which I despise) .... but all I remember is a pretty tasteless sloppy dollop of red with dark bits in it.0

caronc, take your time doing stuff, I know mass emissions from the sun affect you and there are a lot hitting us now, you can tell by the pixelating on the tv0

Quick trip to the vets tonight as the cat is occasionally stiff in his back leg and I wanted it checked out, he can still scale a 6 ft fence
. I ensured it was the female vet but he was literally scared stiff so difficult to see him walk normally or to feel his joints but she thought he didn't flex his right leg fully, so X-ray tomorrow just to check and one stressed cat
Lunch was left over nasi goreng without the omelette, it tasted even better, it had obviously matured well in the fridge. Haven't eaten dinner yet so will probably be the last couple slices of bread toasted and maybe the last of the melon definitely feeling cba now, after i got back from the vet I had a hour phone call with a sister  they've been away for a couple of weeks so we had to catch up :rotfl: she was ok they had already eaten
PN if cooked correctly ratatouille isn't tastelessbut if you despise courgette not for you

LOs in my experience nearly always taste better, thank goodness for that in CFOland as we seem to have to deal with them frequently:cool:0
