Nothing to tempt in L's, getting worse in there since the new large one opened a couple of miles away, empty shelves and zilch YS. I read on our local chat pages they are short of staff in the area, could explain the empty shelves

Back home, my Lakemont grape arrived, parcel was long & thin, postie got it through my letter box without damage. I've run out of compost, I had hoped to get some in L's, but nothing there, bum, not going out again, it'll wait until tomorrow.

Lunch I decided to have a change, used up last slices of stale bread with LO beans, thus it was beans on toast, with fried eggs on top. Just the ticket and a nice

Dinner will have to be baked spud & salad, probably grated cheese in the spud.

One spot of gardening, side de-shooted & tied in the tomatoes, in the conservatory

I bought sausage rolls this morning, so had two for "breakfast", I'll have two in a bit....

I also bought a packet of chocolate covered peanuts, which've nearly all been scoffed (~1000 calories/bag, so need to go easy on how often I buy those!).

:j I got 12 lovely tarts and 16 large assorted burgers frozen individually after vac packing. I`ll be ordering from costco again, they look very good quality. So that is 28 easy to grab mains, only requiring veg or salad

A calmly busy day today, been cleaning floors and dusting. Made a difference, looks brighter, all while listening to jukebox rock. Still getting rid of stuff and 5 bottles of liquor tipped down the sink. Little by little am clearing

    Good evening everyone,
You can't beat a roast dinner klew356 even if it does mean lots of LOs:). Roast chicken dinner is one of my "deathrow meals"...;)

kittie, I didn't know Costco did online, I had a look as I used to love a visit there but would I use it enough to justify the annual subscription? One to ponder I think and see if my kids/sister might want to pitch in. Which pies did you get?

It turned into a lovely afternoon and evening as long as you stayed out of the wind. I got a little done in the garden though not nearly as much as I would have liked. I'm not long in from watering pots & baskets and it's definitely turning chilly.

My new zimmer arrived and it was very easy to put together. It certainly seems sturdier than my previous one which was very basic as was got as a "cheap & cheerful" as I expected only to need it for a few weeks. That was back in 2016 so I can't complain about the use I got out of it. This one is a bit wider than my previous one which I'm sure I'll get used to but it will be a case of "watch your ankles" for a bit if you are anywhere near me:o.
I had expected my rhubarb crown to arrive today but it hasn't, if there is no sign of it by Thursday I'll need to contact the seller. I know I won't get anything from it this year but would like to get it and get it potted soon.

I'm just off to put together my Thai green curry, I don't think I'll need rice with it but might toast a very non-authentic pitta bread to dip in the sauce:D.

!Love a cheeky roast dinner, even if it is for one! :D

Me too I don't think it tastes the same if you only roast a single portion. I've been known to invite myself to my sisters' if she's cooking one, of course that works both ways :rotfl:

Work meant I came home a little  so I've talked myself out of a G & T as it's a work night and I'm just finished dinner a little later then usual but I had a late lunch.

Lunch was a salami and Gouda salad with the last of my LO roasted chicory and fennel. Dinner was courgette, aubergine and tomato with Halloumi, thanks for the link Caronc I had to cook it a little longer because of the aubergine (no one wants squeaky aubergine :D) one to make again although I may do it just with courgettes next time. You can never have too many courgette recipes in the summer :rotfl:

I'm wondering why I brought goats cheese today, it was on my list with the milk but  I must start writing next to an item what I plan to do with it especially as there's nothing else on the list to give me a clue. it's only a mild one as I don't like it too taste too much of goat :p I've checked and I haven't bookmarked any links nor have I left a cookery book out as a reminder. I'm sure it will come back to me :o of course I could blame Kittie for mentioning it here:rotfl:

I'm glad you're all too polite to mention it could be my age :rotfl: oh well off to look at recipes for goats cheese at least it has a good long date

Glad you enjoyed the halloumi recipe Brambling.
My two favourite goat's cheese recipes are either baked with ratatouille on puff pastry or in a green lentil salad. I'm not keen if it is too goaty either. I also like it squidged into a dried fig then wrapped in parma ham and baked until the ham is crispy. An excellent nibble that can be adapted for CFO. The unbaked version is just fine too:)

    No thanks re the job:)
Try this site for Bombay potatoes, https://www.mamtaskitchen.com/recipe_search.php , all the listed ones are good thoug I prefer mine with some chopped tomatoes like this https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/7348/bombay-potatoes- though tend to use a tablespoon of madras curry powder instead of the dry spices though do use fresh chilli & some garam masala at the end :)

My Thai green curry was lovely but I had forgotten how hot the Mae Ploy paste was:eek:......

Cleared my sinuses is an understatement.....
I must use less paste next time as it was a tad too hot.
