I caught a few glimpses of That Wedding - definitely not a royalist myself (how could I be - as everyone is equal imo?:rotfl:).

I admit to watching that as "observation of my Society" - and I was laughing at the expressions on the faces of many of the congregation - as they were determined not to enjoy themselves if they could possibly help it. Errr...hello...people...it's a wedding/lighten-up/weddings are supposed to be happy occasions - so break out a smile. Hence my laughing at the American style preacher - bet that gave them a shock to their system:rotfl:. Cue for me seeing a Facebook message from my best friends husband - commenting on how much he thoroughly enjoyed that sermon (as my best friend and her husband are both evangelical Christians - though I'm not any 'brand' of Christian).

Socialising Kittie - well I like it personally - but it is as well that I'm pretty much an "only child" mentality - ie eldest child in a family of two children. That and the Armed Forces childhood (ie I didnt have a chance to "put down roots":() has served me well in some ways as an adult. I make up my own mind about things for myself and don't give way to peer pressure and, faced with a choice between giving way to peer pressure to abide by some currently fashionable opinion (even if it's widespread across our country) and heels get dug in/I refuse to be pressurised and would be on my own sooner than give in to pressure. That is just as well - after email from local friend here today - in which she is actually telling me how she proposes to bring some "peer pressure" to bear on a woman (who I don't know) in order to try and make her conform or move away. I told her what I thought of her wish to pressurise this poor unknown woman in no uncertain terms:cool: (ie that I'm shocked and she shouldnt do it) and hope she'll act a bit more grown-up than that & remember my Home City is a "questioning/independent" city and stop expecting any different attitude than questioning/independent from me ever - won't be happening.

Food-wise - still basically in quite a prolonged spell of being cba about it (can't think why obviously:cool:).

Must tend to the garden before the "heat of the day" then...looks like it's going to be another nice day thankfully. Got over 30 varieties of "summat edible" out there now:D

Good Grief what could this Woman possibly be into as to warrant being pressed into moving? Serial Klller, Drug Dealer, human trafficking?

Really impressed with your 30 edibles would love to see a list.

I am going to alter my eating plan slightly in a couple of ways. Loving the overnight soaked oats but I know on their own that they don`t sustain me for long. I am leaving my stir fried prep in the fridge until brunch time. Plan today will be in small meal hops, oats, nuts, green juice, hemp drink, stir fry with protein pasta, cheese, cake slice and spelt toast last. I was missing my hemp drink and blackcurrants, didn`t feel like it on the king/prince/pauper way. I will have to slot my cooked beetroot in but probably with a bit of soft goats cheese as a treat, similar with blackberries and yoghurt. Whatever way, my mains will be by 11

I may make a food list and cross the foods off through the day, I will finish all food by 4.30 and won`t miss out on snacks but always spelt toast last. I have the kind of constitution that does best on small meals more often

Thank goodness for a bit of rain last night and a cooling of the air. It was just about to get too oppressive

The hosta hasnt worked out (flopped and died). The tomatoes havent worked out and I just cant really seem to get tomatoes okay here - I think it might be down to the wind? (wondering if those tomato plants I buy from outside stalls here arent actually ready to go straight outdoors - even though I've bought them from outside stalls???).

(....and...yes...by now I'm making it very plain this woman is to be left alone to do things her way without criticism).

My vote is that her garden is untidy. There are few things worse for the Gauleiters of would be best kept villages than the visible presence of weeds or, perish the thought, rusting cars. Serial killers, perverts - no problem as long as their gardens are immaculate.

Which probably means it's on it's way to us ..........

We could set up Southern Weather Watchers, PN first hit, then me then Brambling:) At least the plants got some water yesterday

Up early, so made pot of tea plus porridge etc for breakfast because I have time before I trot off to volunteer duties

The mention of Nasi Goreng brought memories flooding back, sitting in road side bar outside Sembewang gate, Singapore, eating it with pint of cold Tiger beer. I've never made it but always liked it:beer:

Sun's out, of to volunteer via L's on a YS foray

PS Money, it is a bit early for toms to be outside, unless sheltered spot. The fact they are on outside stalls is no guide, my Wilko has them outside, poor little things, blown to bits and obviously unhappy. I doubt they will grow well once home

    Good morning everyone,
Cloudy but dry this morning but there is still a decidedly chilly stiff breeze.
I grow some tomatoes on my covered deck but I'm only just about to start hardening them off to go out there. The baskets I made up the other day are currently on my kitchen table and the rest of the patio ones in the greenhouse. Over the years I've tried a few grown fully outdoors but without much luck. :(

"Unusual" for me breakfast of LO singapore noodles with an egg scrambled through, it was tasty:)Lunch will be mini pork pie and salad again, tonight I'm going to have Thai green curry with pollock & loads of veg. I may or may not cook some rice to have with it or just stick with loads of veg.

so far so good and plenty of energy ie not fading, more sustained with spaced out smaller `meals/drinks`. I have washed half of downstairs floors, involves moving things so not that light a job and I have cleared some things out altogether

I just had a small frozen hm flax/walnut cracker with soft goats cheese, just half a tsp, it was divine. I need to get that recipe down in my notebook and have ordered more flaxseeds and walnuts

Hi Klew :hello: That sounds typical for most of us.

I occasionally like to roast a whole chicken as I like to make stock / soup with the bones but I do find by the end of the week that I start to cluck :rotfl: I'm not a great fan of just putting cooked roast chicken in the freezer without doing something to it I'm not sure what I do wrong it just seems to come out spongy. I halved the last whole chicken I brought and frozen one.

Caronc it looks like you could be getting our sunshine, trying to rain here and muggy enough to thunder I think.

Yep, thunder & rain here, had to dash to shut door & windows.

Luckily i'd finished my gardening bit, finally pruned the grapefruit now it has decided to live post Beast, green shoots sprouting now after all it's leaves died & fell off, swept them up at long last, I was waiting to see if the tree would survive before I did anything

Job for another more bendy day, I spotted my outside drain needs a clean out, not a nice job but needs doing:(

Last of the tinned salmon used for lunch, the rain has clinched the last jumbo fish fingers, frozen chips & I think beans for dinner

Just checked prices for restock of tinned salmon, L's & Asda, I'm into L's tomorrow so will top up then, and hope I spot something while in there or it's freezer diving. The mini pork pie of Caronc sounds tempting

I know what you mean about the clucking!!!
I actually spent longer than intended out with a friend and our dogs last night so the idea of buying a chicken turned into a low fat tikka meal!! Looking ahead, it wouldn’t have been ideal doing the chicken as i am out tonight for spin and out Friday night also. I think after the bank holiday i will get a whole chicken, and do it then. Love a cheeky roast dinner, even if it is for one!

As for tonight after spin, im not sure i might nip to the supermarket and get some bits to tide me over tomorrow and tonight
    :D
