Hope puss is ok, if only they could tell us what's up with them:(
LOs in my experience nearly always taste better, thank goodness for that in CFOland as we seem to have to deal with them frequently:cool:
Thanks Caronc, with rescue animals comes a lack of knowledge on what's gone on in their life. He came with a clean bill of health from the cats protection however the way he reacts shows he has been mistreated he's frightened of men and there a long list of what terrifies him, so with a strong possibility he's been physically hurt we're just checking there's no lasting damagejust as well he's cute :rotfl:
I think I paid for the vets holiday last year with my last two catsI'm hoping I won't be paying for it this years
as the 'kitty kitty' is still recovering
I should have been able to have LOs tonight as a quick meal but I froze it all in error :rotfl::rotfl:Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
money, you might be interested and so might others over 55
nationwide are proposing a lifetime interest only mortgage for over 55s. Very exciting, it means that people can move/escape or get jobs done without having equity release
Had a quick look thanks and I'd need such a huge mortgage to both "move back and move up (ie from first house I had there)" that I can't see it as possible. But I guess things may change at some point. Who knows?
I did see that Nationwide were making mortgage terms available up to age 85 as from a couple of years ago (after I had moved ). Felt a bit sick when I saw that - as I'd been basing payments for "what I was looking at" at finishing a mortgage by 75 and the payments were just way too high.
Shouldnt have had a quick look at a starter house that has just come up in Home City literally one road over from the starter terrace I "shoulda bought" back originally (ie before getting the one I actually did get). The guy concerned decided not to sell to me (or, for some time after, to anyone else either I think...) after all - and never did tell me. The next road over house is very much the same - in one of THE two best terrace house roads in the city (the shoulda-been house is in the other one of those roads). Now - it's 2 bedroom/small back garden/one bathroom/one kitchen and up for £325,000. Two bed terraces in average area of my home city are now around £200-£250k. What I want there is around £400,000 (more than twice the value of the house I have here).
Still - I should think positive I guess - and right now that has consisted of arranging to buy those last bits for garden-as-currently-is on this house and it's starting to attract favourable comments (so I've made quite a bit of progress on that).
BRAMBLING - hope the cats and their vet bills settle down soon.0 -
I think my neighbour's cat sounds like yours, again a rescue rehomed but unforttunately his new owner died. He's lovely but very wary of (new) men though loves my younger son, which is surprising as he is a big bloke!! Now he knows he has a safe home he is building his confidence and likes to go wandering which is lovely.
I originally had 3 pooches (from the same litter) rescued at 5 weeks from an alcoholic relative, sadly mum and one of the litter didn't pull through and we nearly lost one of the other pups due to sepis from flea bites & malnutrition and he did end up with slight brain damage. It was a huge amount of care & cost to get the three surviving pups healthy but completely worth it. I'd banned from here if I honestly expressed how I feel about how they were mistreated.....:mad:Your kittie will be worth the vet's next hols but hopefully we are talking a tent in a field....;)0 -

I'm the same as you Caron :mad: I have said many bad words as did my big gentle vet. I've used the same vets for nearly 30 years very small, just the two of them. Last year was a lot of big vet bills and unfortunately I still lost both my cats
My boy is worth it even if he's currently sulkingit hasn't help that he can't eat until after tomorrow's sedation

money don`t ever give up, having an aim is good, not just living but loving your life
I don`t know the interest % but think it will be around 3%. If you borrowed 200k then you would pay £500 a month. I do know that this is a hefty chunk but perhaps there are small prints ie paying off capital over time and reducing monthly payments.
Don`t get it mixed up with mortgage or equity release, it will be a whole new product and details are not yet released and I heard that it will be until death, so no insurance involved. Don`t also forget, to add to this, help to buy on a brand new home. I think it is an interest free gov loan for 20% for 5 years but you would have to be house-free first

Haha! Glad it's not just me that thinks goats cheese tastes of goat!!! My sisters always laugh when I say I don't like it cos it tastes like goat smell euwww.
Gf cornflakes, ham salad roll, and hot smoked black pepper salmon with jacket potato and asparagus. Yesterday.
Today I'm working till 1. So I'm having toast with spread cheese now, not sure about anything else.
I had a letter from gp, my NON fasting blood test for diabetes came back at 44????
So he wants me to go to a group , discussing best management of diabetes.
I thought I'd be asked to do a fasting one first? But what do I know.
Still waiting on my thyroid one , which was overdue, I had to ask, as I knew it was over 12 months, though my medication rarely changes.
Still no rain up here its been hot everyday, I needed to water the garden last night, and it's looking beautiful, so much in flower the standard lilac is wonderfully fragrant, as is the choisya near my front door.
I can't grow food , I've tried a few things but they're never worth the effort for the yield I get, so I'm envious of all you green fingers!Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -
I think goats cheese smells of goat too!! I also think lamb smells like the lambing sheds and i can’t bear it bowk.:(
The ratatouille was better than expected, exceeded expectations haha so im looking forward to the leftovers tonight yum yum.
Lunch is a very boring but nice tuna and sweetcorn hm sandwich possible packet of crisps, there some watermelon kicking about also.
Tomorrow is going to be hit and miss, probably do a jacket potato for lunch as dinner will be late as we are out and about following the horses and will either be a takeway or some sort of food van
So looking forward to sorting the picnic for Saturday though, we all contribute to it :T0 -
I love/prefer goats cheese, it is better for me than cows cheese and I can get organic from small uk sw producers.
I was out planting kales on the allotment at 7 and sowing swedes. Now fingers crossed for rain this week and then I will be able to leave it all alone. Been to the tip as well and was so tempted by toast and jam just now but quickly grabbed a handful of nuts pistacheos/walnuts/almonds and made my hemp/cacao/blackcurrant drink. I know these supp;y my body with first class nutrients and am glad I didn`t succumb. I leave my small amount of spelt toast to last meal
I am looking forward to my toms tart, the one I have out is red onion and gruyere cheese. I am inclined to stir fry today, want to use some pak choy and the marinaded onion and fennel will be nice, I can get garlic in too. It is that sort of day, grey and jobs are done. Just going to sainsburys soon, hope they have some cherries in0 -
Good afternoon everyone,
It's an absolutely stunning day here:).
I've had a domestic morning, just the floors to mop now. I'm just heading to the library and then it's quiche & salad for lunch. I'll mop before I then head for a much needed couple of hours of rest.Once it's cooled down a bit I'll get some more planting done.
I haven't clue what's for dinner tonight, something simple as it's too hot to spend much time in the kitchen.0 -
Afternoon folks
Seems the nice weather has moved oop north, dull & gloom here, but not much of needed rain
All the ratatouille talk, I love it, which is good job now I have that extra courgette plant. I used to buy the tinned one from Asda, but I seem to have gone of that lately
Normal pot of tea, porridge, banana etc for breakfast
Nothing at all of interest in the shop mooch, I have been looking for decent Iceberg lettuce for the last few days, everywhere I look they are rubbish
I have a 30p off veg coupon from W/r so thought they at least would be good, honestly I've put better on my compost heap
Is it just here or has there been some growers problem? Very much a first world problem, I'll survive without Iceberg lettuce
Lunch was a PB baguette with corned beef & tomato
Dinner will be LO boiled new spuds, sliced & fried in butter, with egg mix over the top, and sprinkle of shallot & corned beef chunks. Maybe a sliced tom on top as well. I could go for protein overload and add some grated cheese
I was going to have baked beans with it, but CFO hell, I've run out of them:( I thought I had a tin lurking around. Bummer:mad:Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
