Sunny & warm again, another chance for Brambling to get the windows open & paint smell out. 😁

Despite the set fair for week weather I picked most of my tomatoes yesterday, the cooler nights are starting to slow the ripening now, most are near ripe so few days inside will finish the job

Managed to finalise & order the Waitrose delivery for tomorrow, I chose a, cheaper, flexible, four hour slot, sometime in the morning

Lunch, maybe another salad sandwich with sun out

Dinner, use up the gammon steak, eggs, use up mushrooms & AF chips. maybe grilled tomato as token veggie portion

    Good morning everyone,

Hope you feel better soon Brambling and the tomato soup soothes. I always associate tinned cream of chicken with being poorly as child.

Dry and brightish here, like others I'm giving the house an airing before temps drop and rain returns.

Voluntary admin to tackle today and if time permits I'll start cutting back the greenhouse. Still have some cues and toms to come but really not a great growing year at all.

More soup for lunch. Trying this Moroccan fish stew recipe - BBC Food made with cod tonight, I'll keep the base quantities the same but reduce the fish to two portions. Sides tbc, I'll see what we fancy later.

Hope you feel better soon Brambling.

I just had overnight blueberry oats. I'm going out tonight to eat so I will just have a smoothie for lunch.

Lovely warm day again, temp is quite surprising for this time in September although some of the trees have decided over the weekend that it’s time to change colour and release the leaves.

Lunch was another portion of my “crazy red soup”

Stir-fry dinner tonight - a large chicken breast and some pineapple from the freezer. I picked up some wonky peppers, ss peas and babycorn from aldi this morning, I’ll add in some ginger, garlic, sweet chilli and soy sauce. It should make two good portions so tonight I’ll have it with some boiled rice.

  • Much too nice a day to be at work, didn't want to go back after lunch 🙃

Volunteering late afternoon/early evening so had sausage and spinach gnocchi for lunch. Just had mushrooms and scrambled eggs on toasted bagel.

A lovely day here, still tee shirt weather. I had agreed to cover a shift at the bookshop and decided I may be better out of the house 🤧 I'm still not feeling great but definitely sneezed a lot less, two sneezing fits during the day at the shop rather than two sneezing fits a hour! And they aren't gentle lady like sneezes and about a dozen each time. Unfortunately the sinus have decided to join in as well 😡 At least the house smelt a lot less painty when I got home.

Lamb and mint sauce roll for lunch. I feel asleep in the chair so a late quick dinner of lamb and sweet potato fries with broccoli

Cloudy but supposed to brighten up later, no wind so quite mild really

Sounds like you are on the mend anyway Brambling, hope it continues.

Message from DD yesterday, water dripping through ceiling light. 😮Cause found to be shower grouting & seal. Tiles bulging, plaster "blown" flooring ruined etc etc. Upshot is a rip it all out & new bathroom needed. Luckily it's just her & partner, kids grown up & gone, so although disruptive not as bad as coping with children at same time. Just needs the money now, looks like they'll be curtailing the holidays for a bit.

My Waitrose delivery due this morning, due between 1040 - 1140. One sub, very posh eggs [offer] OOS, replaced by some quite posh Duchy organic ones. You do get a better class of subs at Waitrose. 😁

Lunch, bacon butty, bacon is in the delivery

Dinner, TBD. Depends on dates of items in the delivery, I have chicken bits & pies in there. Whichever one has shortest date, with either mash or boiled new spuds

    Good morning everyone,

Dry and bright but much cooler here today. Need to get my act together and get organised for the stove being serviced and swept pm.

Last night's fish stew was lovely though I did need to increase the spicing. There's some LOs which if DS2 doesn't have today I'll have for lunch tomorrow. My lunch will be the last portion of the soup I defrosted on Monday. Tonight it's JO's gingery, garlicky black bean mince something I've not made for yonks so looking forward to it. We'll have it with rice and steamed veg.

It does feel hot again! It is typical as I changed the duvet over to the winter one.

I ate out at a new to me local Thai restaurant last night. I had papaya salad, marinated tofu, veg and rice and it was delicious. I took a menu home so I might order again next week.

I just had a veggie sausage roll. I am having a new veggie burger in a roll for dinner. I'm going to make a type of coleslaw with courgette, carrots and cucumber with mayo. I'm not sure about lunch yet.
