Good morning everyone,

Lol Farway, yep the frozen tuna steaks are great value so no doubt will leap up now we are enjoying it!

Grey, wet and feeling more like late rather than early Autumn. It's heading to the September/race weekend here and often the weather is quite pleasant but not this year.

Very pleased with the results from deep cleaning and then polishing my stove. A mucky job but really quite satisfying. It's beginning to show it's age (almost 8 years) but hopefully it will be good for a few more years yet.

Last of the current batch of soup for lunch, depending on how the day goes I might make another potful of veg based soup later. A favourite for dinner which I've not made for ages - Jamie Oliver’s Crispy Golden Chicken Is Perfect for a Weeknight Dinner – Tamron Hall Show . We'll have it sweet potatoes and either salad or steamed veg.

Sunshine and showers here, and definitely feeling a bit cooler this evening. Another productive work day.

Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toasted bagel for lunch. Creamy sausage and leek pasta with purple sprouting broccoli and sugar snap peas tonight.

I had watermelon for breakfast, then a veggie burger and wedges for lunch.

My dinner was sourdough pizza.🥰

i meant to say yesterday Farway if your council gave you a free roll of bags with your food bin and they are like ours they fell apart after 3 or 4 days they compost too quickly! I found M&S ones do the same so have resorted to Amazon which seem to last the week if needed.

Decorating is nearly finished, dining room is finished apart from the curtain rail being rehung and the lounge has one wall to finish off and the curtain rail. I'm still allergic to my house! After a rainy start I did some gardening this afternoon to fill the wheelie bin and the garden drew blood 🫣 my fault I know to wear long sleeves and gloves. Between brambles, plant allergies and insect bites (again) my hands and arms look like I've been attacked by the cat. Then to finish off I broke a nail really short on the wheelie bin handle 🙄

I went out for lunch yesterday which was a nice treat, then it was using leftovers of pizza and falafel later in the day so not much cfo going on.

Today it is feeling much cooler but I’m resisting the urge to put any kind of heating on, I’ll just add another layer of clothing and have soup for lunch.

Dinner is undecided as yet but probably something from the freezer.

Thanks, no bags supplied with ours. The leaflet does say use any plastic bags, carrier, bread bag etc and they will be mechanically removed at the depot. Mind you this is same council that initially said for plastic recycling bung it all in & we'll sort it. Now it's Bottles & tins only, it seems the rest is wrong sort of plastic 🤔

I'll be wary of the bio ones, probably resort to Amazon because the reviews on the Asda ones speak of flimsy & thin. I don't want peelings or worse everywhere, I can do that unaided

I'm hospital taxi this afternoon, so dinner is quick & easy with whatever time allows post waiting room

Smashing looking pizza Wednesday.

Another grey, wet and chilly one here. No central heating on yet but the stove is being lit in the evening for a two or three log burn.

Made a batch of fridge gravel soup yesterday - spiced leek, cauliflower, broccoli, coriander and parsley thickened with a tin of butter beans. It's a tad sludgy looking but tastes good which is the main thing.

Tried and failed to get my voluntary group's mobile banking app set up so I could pay in a cheque. Definitely much more convoluted than my personal banking ones. DS2 will give me a hand at the weekend, I suspect I'm being a numpty so expecting a bit of eye-rolling!

Tesco due later and I need to take the hem down on a pair of jeans so I can take them up a bit more than I did before as they are still too long for my stumpy little legs!

Soup and corn thins for lunch. Dinner will be the usual Friday tbc.

lucky you Farway, there is always someone moaning about the bags we have to use on FB. We can you newspapers so I pick up free Waitrose ones and use it for raw meat/chicken bones especially when it was so hot then bagged it.

Decorators finished just after lunch today and he's going to quote for hall, stairs and landing, but seeing as I want a new sofa that may be a job for new year.

Cheese and crackers for lunch with sliced tomatoes.

my take on burritos for dinner using up some pork mince from the freezer, tinned tomatoes and chick peas as they needed eating.

Thanks for waste bin liners links & tips. I think I've decided against bio ones because from reviews I've read they do tend to start decomposing after a few days with wet /damp waste in them, so I'll go for strong plastic, because I can.😁

Just fancied a hot breakfast, so had a couple of grilled fish Fs & grilled tomato. Made a nice change

Good morning everyone,

Chilly, wet and windy this morning. I need to water the greenhouse at some point but hopefully can avoid getting soaked.

Domestic bits and bobs on the agenda today plus some personal care. DS1, DIL and DGD are back for brunch again tomorrow. I'll not join them for food as I'm off to my friend's for lunch but will enjoy the company and hopefully some cuddles and smiles with DGD before I get picked up. DS2 will be in charge of hosting and subsequent pooch watching.

More of the latest batch of soup for lunch. Easy one tonight courtesy of the freezer/M&S - chicken long dogs, waffle fries and corn ribs. I'll make a salad to go along with it.
