Sunny morning, hoping to make the most of it & do a spot of gardening later, just pruning, nothing fancy. I did find a "lost" fig while out there yesterday, and picked some apples while at it

I need to finalise the Asda delivery for next week, I saw a review of their frozen protein MFO, so I may give them a try as they are on offer, 3 for a fiver, so not expecting Haute Cuisine. 😁

I just went out and did some shopping. I’m going out for lunch so I just got a smoothie for breakfast. It is a lovely warm day here.

Good morning everyone,

Running behind myself this morning as didn't wake until after 10, must be the quiet house!

Sunshine and heavy showers here, it would be good if there was more of the first than the second but not so far. I have looked out the highchair we were given for DGD from a friend of DS1, it's been in storage for a while so needs a good scrub but otherwise is in great condition. They are coming by for brunch tomorrow before heading to a 1st birthday party.

Had a nice easy dinner last night of egg, mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes and AF BNS chips. Small SC is currently cooking braised steak for tonight. Lunch will be the last portion of the soup I made the other day. Might make another batch as it was really tasty.

Yes Brambling the dolphins are lovely to watch although I haven't seen them in the bay as often this summer, maybe the fishing isn't so good this year.

I’m really enjoying my new book, it’s sucked me into the story very quickly but I’m having to ration the chapters to make sure I get the chores done too 😁

Lunch was another portion of the mushroom soup with a slice of toast.

Dinner is gammon, spicy air fried cauliflower and a side salad.

What's the book N2BT? I've just finished The Nightingale which I really enjoyed.

Fairly lazy day after a long week but did walk to the library and have cleared the ironing pile and done some tidying up and putting away.

Had a small portion of savoury mince kicking around so made a flatbread pizza thing with it for lunch. Portion of chorizo and chickpea stew from the freezer with pan fried hake fillet tonight 😋

Thanks JKS I’ll keep a lookout for The Nightingale. I’m reading Dan Brown “The secret of secrets”, set in Prague and with all the legends and folklore associated with that City I can't wait to see how this story unfolds.

My neighbour brought me the last pickings from the tomatoes he’s been growing in the polytunnel 😋 I'll savour these and live in hope that I’ll find something in the SM that has a bit of flavour.

Lunch will be a simple salad with rocket, the toms and a couple of slices of a nice dry deli ham

For dinner I’ll make a beetroot and feta tart and have it with a black eyed bean & mixed veg salad.

Dull & damp start, supposed to be same most of the day, but at least I did manage to get a bit of gardening in yesterday

Finalised the Asda shopping order for Wednesday so one less job to do

Dinner, an Out of Date feast, using up my Covid lockdown stock. If I'm not here tomorrow you heard it here first. Just getting fed up looking at these items week after week. Time for them to go.

Tin of curry, BBE 2025, frozen egg rice, BBE 2022. I expect the rice will be dry and tasteless, but I'll give it ago. The tinned curry should be OK, but happy to bin it should I feel the need to

I'm sure you'll survive Farway!

Enjoying a quiet cuppa after a whirlwind visit from DS1, DIL and DGD. DGD has grown so much since I last held her, she's at the super chunky stage, she'll lean out when she starts moving around. A brunch of filled breakfast rolls was much enjoyed and I'll tackle the washing up shortly. DGD wore most her potato and cauli mix and the high chair will need another good scrub though pooches cleared the floor debris very thoroughly. They'll be back to collect Frank in a few hours. Dinner tonight will be the other half of the braised beef.

I had a vegan roast dinner out today. Very yummy. I feel quite full up so I’m not sure what to do for dinner yet…

Ooh, I enjoyed the earlier Dan Brown books N2BT but looks like I have missed a couple so have put on my list, I had heard there was a new one.

Domestic day here plus swimming and grocery shopping. Turned into a lovely afternoon so glad I had washed bedding as it dried on the line ☀️

Poached eggs and smashed avocado on toast for lunch. Roast dinner cooked by someone else tonight 😋
