    Good morning everyone,

Glad new f/f is up and running Farway.

I had a lovely afternoon in Glasgow, my DGD has grown lots over the past few weeks. Her and Hector were very taken with each other which was sweet to see. Frank was just glad to be home I think, he was so excited when he saw DS1 from the car when we arrived. DS1 had made a love roast chicken with veg and salad so dinner last night was just a few fridge bits.

Off out for lunch again today which is a recurring theme this week. Enjoyable but hard on the waistline lol! Dinner this evening is tbc but will be something light.

Feeling so much better today and definitely ready to catch up on some chores. I had an online delivery last week but was not in the mood to deal with it so portioned and froze a lot but finally felt ready to deal with some of the veg this morning.

I whizzed up mushrooms, shallots, garlic & thyme to make a duxelle which I’ll portion and freeze to use another time.

Made a pot of soup to replace the emergency stash in the freezer, because I was so glad of it last week.

Lunch was some leftover chickpea curry and for dinner I’ll have the remaining saag aloo with some posh fish fingers and salad.

Happy new fridge freezer Farway 😀

Glad to hear you more like yourself N2BT, duxelle sounds very posh!

Nipped into town at lunchtime to run a couple of errands so quickly made avocado and scrambled eggs on toast for lunch eaten al desko. Leftover hake and chickpea stew tonight so just had to reheat and toast a pitta bread.

I've also made a couple of days of packed lunches and had a fridge tidy. The weather gets significantly hotter from Wednesday so I have a strange mix of normal and silly hot food options in there 😜

I'm glad you're feeling more human N2BT ar3 you planning a wellington with your duxelle?

Probably a good idea re the meat Farway not worth the risk 🤢

I met my friend for lunch in Chichester and we had a lovely catch up and a Prosecco and raspberry cocktail to celebrate her birthday last week 😋 Chichester was also several degrees cooler with a nice breeze, the benefit of being on the coast. When I got off the train here a wall of heat hit me 🥵 definitely not so pleasant.

After lunch out I haven't had much dinner just a ice cream and a packet of crisps I may eat some fruit later

Getting ready for suppose ten days of heat, which feels like it started today, it's roasting in the sun already.

The busted F/F forced me to shuffle & sort the contents in freezer 2, upshot is two tubs of blackberry & apples from 2024 summer are defrosting. Crumble time later

Lunch, run out of bread & salad stuff, so no sandwich, but Asda delivery tomorrow so not worth going out to get some. With the freezer shuffle I have frozen small macaroni cheese to nuke for lunch

Dinner. Same run out of salad problem, so frozen chips, frozen sausages & fried eggs

Not posh JKS just french 😁 and tbh Brambling a wellington would be wasted on me, it is a delia recipe from her complete cookery course, I use it to make mushroom quiches, or a mushroom pasta sauce I’ve even whizzed it up with cream cheese to make an easy mushroom pate. I couldn't find it online but it’s similar to this one https://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/collections/easy-entertaining/baked-eggs-in-wild-mushroom-tartlets

Light lunch of cottage cheese and fresh pineapple salad.

Dinner is spag bol with garlic bread.

    Good morning everyone,

    Glad you have recovered N2BT.

I had a lovely catch up with friends yesterday but after being out two days in a row and out again tomorrow and Friday I'm looking forward to a day in the house today. I've a fairly long to do to work through but thankfully apart from one thing there's nothing that can't wait if I don't get round to it. Last of the peri peri chicken for lunch with some salad bits. Pomegranate and lime salmon with cous cous and veg for dinner. Pomegranate And Lime Air-Fryer Salmon | Tesco Real Food

I'm getting quite into the World Cup. I was going to go on a walk tonight, but I'm going to stay in and watch the football instead.

I had two apples and a yoghurt and I am making a chickpea, sweetcorn, celery and mayo sandwich when I get back home.

Office day and very much enjoyed my lunchbox of sweet potato and feta couscous salad.

Prawn, baby corn and tenderstem thai red curry with noodles tonight.

Planning salad for the next few days 🙃

Unfortunately Farway is sharing the heatwave 🥵 I remembered today after getting in my very hot car that my windscreen frost cover will also reflect the sun.

I picked up my meds today and then had a long Telephone conversation with local authority chasing invoices for EF to pay her portion of the care home, they had no idea why we haven't received on since the end of March 🙄 I did annoyed with their virtual assistant it took three attempts to persuade them to put me through to a human 😡

LO sticky chicken and veg for lunch. I did cook salmon, jersey royal potatoes and veg for dinner then didn't fancy it so just picked at some potatoes and had a banana about 9
