A breezy morning followed by a warm afternoon and evening. I woke early feeling a bit headachy probably due to shoulder keeping me awake so fed his lordship and let him out before grabbing a couple of hours back in bed. I did pop to the SM after lunch for milk I had 50p off voucher from Waitrose I also picked up some Cornish Yarg cheese as I had 50p off that as well 😋

Brunch rather than lunch, overnight oats with banana and raspberries.

AF fried chicken with jerk seasoning in the panko breadcrumbs with coleslaw, corn and mango salsa (using YS corn on the cob) runner beans and tenderstem broccoli. Figs, blue cheese and walnuts picked at watching tv.

I've a date for my windows replacement 14th and 15th July so some money movement between BSs took place this afternoon so I can easily pay on the day now it's all in the bank.

I had rigatoni with chickpeas, sweetcorn and broc in a tomato and basil sauce last night for dinner.

I haven't eaten breakfast yet, but I will probably have my usual toast with a smoothie.

Sun, warm & blue sky. Not ideal with my duff fridge freezer.

Luckily the fridge bit works, but some of the frozen stuff i had to bin, defrosted peas etc. Only opened & part used so not a huge financial loss, a tenner maybe as there were some thawed out fish fillets & fingers in there?

I'll have to amend next weeks shoping, I don't want to overstock with items like butter, fresh meat etc

I have use ups from freezer defrost for today's meals

Lunch, MFO chicken curry. Ex freezer, only Asda Essentials at 99p, but shame to waste it

Dinner, LO mash & cook in bag kipper fillets, ex freezer defrosting

Rest of day will be trawling internet for replacement F/ freezer. Luckily only need to please myself, so colour etc is not a stop if a bargain appears

    Good morning everyone,

Glad you haven't lost too much food Farway and hope you can get a new fridge freezer sorted out quickly.

Grey and showery here today. Yesterday did brighten up but not until mid evening. At least the pooches late walk was a dry one. Domestic bits on the to do today and Tesco are due later. May or may not catch up with the ironing.

The Hugh F-W dhal was tasty but under spiced for our taste. Easy enough to rectify and have noted the tweaks on the recipe. There's LOs for lunch and 2 portions for the freezer which we'll either have a dhal or I'll turn it soup. Dinner is tbc probably a chicken or salmon oven bung in of some description.

😷 Just dropped by to say I'm on the sick list and not doing any cooking. It started on Tues and I'm still feeling pretty yuk, thank goodness I had soup in the freezer and plenty of bread and jam.

Hoping I feel up to doing some cooking tomorrow.

    Feel better soon N2BT.

Another busy day, was hoping for a quiet, catch up day but that didn't quite happen 😅

Spinach and ricotta tortellini with sweetcorn and sun dried tomatoes for lunch. Sort of nicoise salad with tuna steak and a few new potatoes tonight.

    I hope you'll feel better soon N2BT

Bad news about the fridge freezer Farway

First tomatoes picked tonight I only grew cherry ones this year I picked a dozen and six made it out of the greenhouse 😋

Usual Friday volunteering day and it was quiet again, the sunny weather keeps people away.

Salmon salad for lunch made of spelt grain, tin of 10 bean salad, fresh herbs and lots of chopped up veg. Only problem is I made a very large bowl full.

Dinner was LO chicken, salsa and veg from yesterday.

    Warm & sun again.

Wow on the picking your own toms Brambling, I've just spotted tiny ones forming this morning, be at least another month I'd guess

Hope you improve N2BT, thank heavens for bread & jam, solves a lot of just not hungry but need something

Fridge / freezer is resolved, all very MSE as well. I scan my shopping and get "points", points get vouchers to use at various places, Amazon is one such place. So, used the e vouchers and have a new Bosch one being delivered tomorrow. Part of deal is take packing & old one away. A "free" fridge. 😊. Now need to clear out old fridge and an easy path, no tables, chairs etc in the way, for them to carry new in & old out

    Lunch, salad sandwich

Dinner, salmon fillet out defrosting, new spuds + salad
