Very sticky & sleepless night, not much better this morning, hot & humid with still air

Caught up on plant watering first thing, before it gets unbearable again

W2000, I keep craving baked potatoes, but I'm not in the mood to have the oven on in this heat. It feels hotter in my house than yesterday. I have taken to nuking them, not the same I know, with skins not crispy etc, but for me it was any port in a storm. Passable and makes a change

    Mainly salad again

    Lunch, cheese + salad sandwich

Dinner, fried salmon fillet, boiled new pots & salad bits

Lovely and sunny with a fresh breeze when I went for a walk around the bay at 8am then stopped off at the fishmongers on my way home where I picked up 4 Partan Taes (brown crab claws) which have produced just over 5oz of white crabmeat.

I cooked extra potatoes last night and hardboiled an egg that needed using so that I can have an egg and potato salad for lunch.

Tonight I’ll have the crabmeat but not sure how yet, maybe something simple and unadulterated like crab, tomatoes, brown bread and butter.

    Good morning everyone,

Yesterday was too hot for me, once it gets above 23/24C I melt. It was 38C in my kitchen/conservatory at 6.30pm so very glad to have round 2 of picky bits for dinner. Thunder came in overnight and we have three unsettled pooches so between the heat and the rumbles no one had much sleep. There is still the odd rumble but it well in the distance and it is thankfully a good few degrees cooler.

Admin and chores to catch up with and Tesco are due later with my "normal" shop. Fridge gravel for lunch and dinner is tbc.

I don't have a microwave Farway. I could chop the potatoes up and have them in the air fryer instead.

I have had a yoghurt and I'm about to have a smoothie. I'm going to use frozen bananas to make it more cold!
