Not a bad day but there is a very chilly wind making it feel a lot worse than it looks.
Not much on my to do list for today so I jumped a bus to the next town for a mooch around the shops. Picked up some books and dvd’s in a charity shop, thay will amuse me for a few hours.
Lunch was the last of the ham with salad and crusty bread.
I have a couple of chicken thighs cooking in the SC, I’ll use one tonight with some pesto pasta.

Yes, chilly wind here too although it was a nice bright day mostly.
One of those annoying work days where I didn’t seem to achieve very much but didn’t stop. There was quite a lot of grumpy people too (including me at times) 😂
Another portion of quiche with salad, coleslaw and bread and butter for lunch. Remembered to take sausages out of the freezer so had those with the other half of the creamy leeks, cabbage and cannellini beans tonight.

It's been a mild day, it did try and rain late morning but it didn't last.
Meeting today with SW and EF it seems they will decide if she needs to go to a permanent care home and not her they could still decide on home carers as they are funding it. She did say although EF has a greater mental capacity than in hospital she thinks her initial findings done in hospital still stands and that was she wouldn't cope at home. She had to speak to the care home, write her report and get sign off so it will be next week and is not definite yet. EF told her neighbour they were finding her a care home in town so obviously heard what she wanted to hear during the visit and afterwards with me repeating it, hopefully it will work out that way especially as the cat is going on Thursday.
New half price M&S towels arrived when I was out, they made me realised how thin mine had gotten. They are so thick and heavy I got two sets (hand, bath, bath sheet) and washed one set tonight. My old ones will go to the vets as they always ask for them.
I left her over lunch and went for a walk, the home is in the town I used to work in pre covid. I brought a M&S chicken and bacon Caesar wrap and was very disappointed with it, about half was binned.
Salmon and asparagus risotto for dinner, I picked up some nice asparagus on the fruit and veg stall

Seems I forgot to post yesterday, all ready to go but must have been distracted.
Nice pale sunshine, and quite warm after overnight rain. Up to Morries for a mooch, but mainly for Deisel, it's gone up 11p overnight, now £1.55 a litre
I was hoping to find the offer half price [£2.50] chickens but just a chicken sized space on the shelf 😒 My Morries has had a refurb, all the chilled stuff is now behind glass doors, not open shelves. All very well & energy saving, except it's hard to see what there. I gave up looking for kippers and lamb.
Did buy some posh bangers on offer, pork & leek, but seems it was bad day for YS, none at all, empty paces only
Lunch, posh banger sarnie
Dinner, posh bangers, not so posh eggs & AF chips

That's a horrendous jump in diesel Farway and the knock on effect means we'll all suffer one way or another all because of certain individuals with big egos and small ***** (fill in the blanks as appropriate) 😁
A bit more cloud around today but a good drying breeze so I got my bedding out on the line and dried this morning.
Lunch is crustless tuna quiche from the freezer with a salad.
I’ll use the other chicken thigh I cooked yesterday, a portion of cooked rice from the freezer add some peppers and peas for a fried rice dish tonight.

Good afternoon everyone,
Yep no doubt prices across the board are going sky rocket in coming weeks add in an 8% council tax increase and I'm certainly going to have less "spare" cash next year. I'm fortunate I have a decent cushion but so many don't will need to cut back on essentials.
Funny day here weather wise, cold with a really bitter wind mixed with torrential quite lumpy showers and brief spells of bright sunshine.
I'm still feeling pretty bruised from physio so another gentle day is on the cards.
Made a pot of bacon, leek and frozen pea soup yesterday based on a Tesco website recipe. Lunch will be a bowlful of that with a poached egg and AF asparagus. Trying this tonight Griddled lemon chicken with cauliflower | Tesco Real Food though I'm baking rather than boiling/mashing the sweet potatoes.

Bright and breezy here but quite damp first thing so I popped the washing on the heated airer to finish off, added bonus was it warmed the room so left the heating off. It still feels quite cold here sometimes, might be the wind actually.
Remembered to put the oven on and popped the last spud in during the morning so I had jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw plus salad for lunch. Prawn and green bean Thai curry with noodles tonight.

I swapped my day for Petworth this week as I can't work Saturday, it started off quiet but the sunshine brought out the people it's free this week if you have brought a lottery ticket.
My sister lost her card wallet today which also contained her driving license somewhere between the self service tills in Sainsbury and the car, she went in to look for it and asked at customer services but nothing. She then cancelled cards and understandably wasn't happy when I spoke to her later, I suggested she popped in again and luckily someone had handed it in 🙂 as she went into the bank to cancel cards she's not sure if she can uncancel or will have to wait up to 7 days for new ones but she can live with that.
Serrano ham and Manchego cheese roll for lunch. LO salmon and asparagus risotto for dinner

Back to dull, with a cold wind tagged on, which is easy compared to what I see on the forecast for further North
Cheery daff display there Brambling, and a relief for your sister with cards being handed in
I was umming and ahhing about today's meals, but have decided I need more fresh green items after a few days of the SM ready meals
Lunch BLT sandwich, at least the L & T will help
Dinner, poached haddock [defrosting] with salad & boiled new spuds

Lovely picture Brambling, our spring flowers are sadly getting a bit of a battering. It’s filthy out there, it’s been chucking it down for a while now with very strong winds too.
Re Council tax - In Aberdeenshire we have a 10% rise, the highest increase in Scotland 😲
I had another double yolker last night, that’s 3 out of the 6 so far, I don't think I’ve ever had so many in a half dozen before.
Soaked some yellow split peas overnight and got the soup on early to have for lunch. There's loads of veg chucked in it so there should be quite a few portions to help restock my freezer.
Dinner is an easy one of chunky fish fingers, oven chips, peas & sweetcorn.
