Grey day here as well with some rain on and off.
I visited my EF this afternoon and she was back to being really confused again and seeing people not there, the nurse said she's not trying to walk either. After an enlightening conversation with the nurse about another visitor I've fished out my LPA documents for her and will go back tomorrow for a conversation! I too took to alcohol a small glass of sloe gin

Good morning everyone,
Hope your EF perks back up Brambling.
Dry, on the chilly side and trying to be sunny here this morning.
As I expected yesterday's physio session was a sore one and I'm very tender today so will be having a gentle one. Made a start on the wardrobe clearing yesterday and a large bag of "not good enough to pass on" stuff has been decluttered ready to be recycled. I'll start sorting the rest out this afternoon.
The sweet potato hash was very good and the chickpeas a good addition. I made the full base recipe so DS2 and I will have the other half for lunch today.
Trying this tonight Roast Cod with Lentils - Recipes - Hairy Bikers which we'll have with green beans and crispy Calvo Nero.2 -
Sun at last, the clouds cleared too late for any chance of Aurora spotting last night, though
Very good idea, I was glad we caught my Mum before it was very obvious she was not able to make informed decisionsBrambling said:I visited my EF this afternoon and she was back to being really confused again and seeing people not there, the nurse said she's not trying to walk either. Drizzly grey start to the day but there is a bit of a breeze so when it dried up a bit I hung some washing out in the hopes it might dry a little.
Another portion of the yellow split pea soup for lunch and I’m defrosting a chicken breast to do a chow mien dish for dinner and hopefully have leftovers for tomorrow.

It is quite a nice sunny day here. I just had a class and I’m in a cafe having lunch before my reiki session. I’m having avocado 🥑 toast and apple juice.2

Farway luckily we did the paperwork and registered both financial and health LPA pre covid so it was just a case of taking in the paperwork for them to scan. I found out at the bank that I needed paperwork I didn't have so had to go to EF flat to search for it, luckily she had loads of plastic box files most on a shelving unit under the stairs, unfortunately none were labelled, it would have been a longer search if I hadn't spent the afternoon sorting through some of it last June. There was some humour that her will and funeral plan documents were in the only black file!Farway said:Sun at last, the clouds cleared too late for any chance of Aurora spotting last night, though

I left at 10.30am and got home at 4pm realising I hadn't eaten or drank anything 🙄 but I have sorted her LPA at her bank as well and put her Attendance allowance on hold as well as some other stuff. Currently they don't think she can come home as she needs night care so I'm just waiting for that decision. Then I'll have to make decisions over her 14 year old cat, hopefully the Cinnamon Trust can help with a foster home until we know if it will be permanent or point me in the right direction. As I parked in Sainsbury's for my first trip to the bank I picked up £10 worth of groceries which on fruit, veg, cheese and milk isn't that much! But it meant free parking.

Oh yes, I have heard of the cinnamon trust as I’m on an early retirement group on FB and a few people have mentioned them. She is lucky to have you to help her Brambling. Make sure you are taking care of yourself too.
I’m about to make a hot chocolate.2 -
Good morning everyone,
Your EF is lucky to have you Brambling.
Cloudy and chilly but dry here today.
I have a committee meeting this evening so need to get some prep done for that today.
I thoroughly decluttered my wardrobes yesterday and including the new bits I've bought now have less than a third of my previous amount of clothes. Given that I hate clothes shopping and have no interest in fashion trends I have no idea how I accumulated so many pieces!
We thoroughly enjoyed the cod with lentils recipe, I made the full base recipe using a tin of lentils and there's LOs, for lunch I'm going to have a portion with wilted spinach and a poached egg. Fridge gravel pasta tonight, I started the sauce base yesterday so just need to get that finished. My meeting is at an odd time so it will be a late dinner for me tonight so I'll try and hold off having lunch until mid afternoon.2 -
More rain, Ark time again, looks like it's "In for the Day" as they sayGood news on LPA Brambling.I thought one advantage of the "new" style was that they're all registered, and anyone who cares to, like a bank, can look up full details using the reference number. Supposed to save the need for umpteen certified copies, seems EF bank never got the memo
Asda delivery arrived, one sub, posh vine tomatoes for cheapo
But had to send spring onions back, closer to compost heap than a salad
And the fresh fish was too close to use by, so also went backLunch, the watercress in the delivery looks good, watercress & TBD sandwichDinner, despite the rain it's salad, lots of fresh items in the delivery, plus on offer baking spuds. Cheese filled spud + salad sounds goodWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray2 -
Well done on your efforts so far Brambling, an LPA is something I need to put some thought into as there are certain members of the family I wouldn’t trust as far as I could throw them

We have a yellow warning of rain until the weekend although it hasn’t been too wet so far. My concern is the very squally sea and SE wind. There are huge waves coming ashore and reaching the sea wall already - it doesn't reach high tide for almost two hours
Lunch was pate & toast followed by some fruit.
Dinner - there’s some of the chow mien leftover and should be enough if I add some broccoli and green beans.2026 Grocery Spends
