    Good morning everyone,
    Dry, sunny and cold here.
Just enjoying a quick cuppa before I go and meet up with my ex-neighbour for a natter. I'll probably just have a cuppa when I'm out so lunch will most be likely more HM soup when I get back. Dinner tonight is jerk spiced salmon with roasted peppers, onions, sweet potatoes and some crispy kale.

Rain to start but brightening up now

Tesco is due later with the first of what feels like many deliveries over the next couple of weeks. I really need to finalise my shopping lists and double check that I am as organised as I think I am food wise for the holidays!
I feel the same, trying to juggle deliveries and sure I've forgotten something. Someone mentioned piccalilli, yep, I have run out of that, now added.
I'm hanging on to add the veggies next week, when I hope they will have dropped to the special prices
The offer special cheeses from Waitrose, none left for online order my area  :'(
Hoping I can pick some up from Morries later in the week, if my knee lets me drive

    Lunch, something on toast
Dinner, use up, I saw a You tube with corned beef stew, I have all the LO bits for that so I'll give it a go

  • There was a very heavy frost this morning which hung around most of the day. The cold air was horrid and gave me a sore head whilst walking around town.

I was glad to get home and have another portion of the curried b/nut squash soup for lunch.

Whilst tidying the freezer I found a piece of feta and had some spinach to use up so added some black olives & sundried tomatoes to make a filling for cannelloni, I’ll also do some hm garlic bread to go with it.

  • Much colder here today but drier and brighter. Too cold for washing on the line so the heated airer went on, trying to keep on top of laundry despite the weather.

Christmas present that needed posting had gone off, as have the small number of cards. Another present that will be delivered to the recipient has been ordered and a couple more are on their way to me for wrapping and giving in person. Feeling in control so far 🙃

Posh fishfinger sandwich for lunch. Made red Thai curry with sugar snap peas, baby sweetcorn and LO roast chicken from the freezer tonight, served with noodles.

Back to dull grey after a lovely red sunrise  :(

Waitrose delivery due in an hour or so, I booked a cheapo slot, within a four-hour window, they update on actual time once the route is known
Only one item short, posh cheese for Christmas, but I'm hoping to get to Morries tomorrow anyway, so will top up there, they have a good cheese selection at my one
I may get a half price Christmas joint while I'm there,at least I can see if worth buying go or not, wary of ordering online & unseen from Asda

Lunch, with my delivery due it will be grab & go, maybe just some toast + something
Dinner, the LO corned beef stew, just to clear it out and make fridge space

  • The panto was really good yesterday. I hadn't been to one since I was about 4 years old!

I stepped on the scales and I have gained half a stone back. I'm going to try and eat more healthily. It is definitely the winter months that I gain weight.

I had a toasted bagel with Flora and Vegemite and I made a smoothie.

I'm going to use some veg to make soup - carrots, cabbage, a potato and a tin of butter beans and whiz it all up so I have lunch for a few days. I'm not sure about dinner yet.

    Good morning everyone,
After a lovely bright day yesterday it's back to wet and wild this morning. I doubt it will get properly light at all! I'm glad I was out and about yesterday. I had a lovely catch up with my ex-neighbour. Her two kids match ages with my two and DS1 and her daughter are still good friends so lots of interwoven memories between us.
Today I hope to put my voluntary admin stuff pretty much to bed for 2025 so I can concentrate on getting the house clean and ready for Christmas.
More HM soup for lunch and tonight it's veggie chilli from the freezer with rice and salad.

Dull but dry here but it got windy and chilly this evening

I needed to get some bits in town today and used the opportunity of parking in Sainsbury's to spend my £17.50 of nectar points to buy my contribution for christmas. I spent a couple of hours at my elderly friend dropping off some shopping and then sorting her CDs I've a bag full in my car for Petworth.

We went up to see the Lights at Leonardslee Gardens this evening we didn't think it was as good as last year but it was free with our membership.  Little one was disappointed that there was no merry go round this year.  I was wee'd on by the youngest member of the family, I was walking him when his mum had some food and got very wet, not just a damp spot through his clothes.  It could have been a lot worst as I handed him over to wash my hands there was an explosion in the nappy area 🫣🤭 which mum was unfortunate to catch 🤢 she blamed my nephew's nappy changing technique, I should make him wash my thick cardi..

I brought some Crumpets YS and had a couple for lunch.  Burger and few chips for dinner at Leonardslee.

    Good morning everyone,
    Another dismal day here.
After thinking it wouldn't appear until the New Year my new wheelie bin arrived yesterday.  :)
Managed to get the admin cleared yesterday though it was a bit of a slog.  :) Today's extra tasks are to clear a heap of rubbish that has blown into the front garden and finalise tomorrow and Monday's Tesco orders.
Fridge bits for lunch and I've chicken breast defrosting to make some sort of pasta dish tonight.

Really rotten weather, pouring down, dark & misty

I went out in it earlier, prescription + Morries for last-minute Christmas bits, meat offers & cheese top ups, plus YS mooching
The Christmas veggies are down to 5P, so got Brussels, parsnips, carrots & a swede, plus small CFO size joints of pork, beef & gammon, at half price, vacuum packed, with good long dates.
Thought it better the Bird in hand than chance my Asda delivery on Christmas Eve

Also YS battered cod fillets, dinner sorted  :)

    Lunch, BLT
Dinner, YS battered cod fillet & AF frozen chips
