I had to search for pension paperwork this morning the last time I tidied the drawer I moved it, unfortunately not to the correct folder. I had been confused over an item on my tax paperwork, I forgot I had worked some of the 2024/2025 tax year 🙄 before retiring at the end of May. At least last minute remembering that avoided sounding like an idiot on a not needed call to the tax office.
My sister and I went to see Wicked tonight before it finishes, there were very few of us in the small screen, but the theatre was packed when we got there for the Panto we had problems pushing our way through and then they forgot to open up for us 🙂
I emptied a peanut butter jar and had peanut butter on toast for lunch.Freezer rummage to fit Tesco shopping in produced a surprised portion of lasagna 😋 (very nice if I have to say so myself 😁) which I had for dinner. I'll have to remember what went in for next time.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1 -
Good morning everyone,
It's still blowing a hooley here but dry and trying to be sunny.
The sunshine is showing up just how badly the place needs a through hoover and dust so once I've finished my cuppa I'll crack on with some housework. I think I only need to actually post two Christmas cards this year and everyone else I'm sending a card/message to via social media.
Soup for lunch. Tonight's it veggie chilli using some SO Quorn mince, I started it yesterday so it just needs to simmer for bit later. There will be at least four portion which I'll freeze to have next week. We'll have it with a baked potato and salad.1 -
I had a pot of fresh fruit and a croissant just now on the train home. I got some photos done so I’m going to apply for my passport when I get home.1

Afternoon all, late clocking on today, got waylaid & distracted this morning
Hope your council is better than mine.caronc said:I need to venture out to take a photo of one of my wheelie bins to prove it is actually broken. Seems a bit unnecessary but needs must I suppose if I want a replacement. It's the original green bin from when they introduced them 15+ years ago so it's certainly lasted well. When the bin men broke mine by bouncing it down steps, a slope is available, all knowledge & responsibility was denied & they wanted me to pay for a replacement
Seems unless our bin men report they broke a bin it's not their fault !However once I queried and asked about the complaints procedures etc it was "discovered" my bin was an older model and it would be OK to replace FOC to me.Lunch, Use up LO cold sausages.Dinner, more use up, cheese frittata using LO boiled spudsNumerus non sum1 -
Dry and cloudy here today but there is still a bit of a breeze so took the chance to get some washing out and got it mostly dry.
Met up with a friend for coffee and a toasted teacake late morning so I just picked on some fruit and a mincemeat pie this afternoon.
Roasted butternut squash and spinach lasagna with a crunchy side salad for dinner.

So nice to have a dry, sunny day, it was really quite mild too, felt a bit like spring 🤔
I popped some towels on the line and they are definitely drier than when they went out, they’re finishing off on the heated airer. I also went for a short walk round the block at lunchtime as well as sorting out rubbish and recycling, so much easier when it’s not raining non-stop!Beans with toast for lunch. Salmon with pesto and broccoli pasta after swimming tonight. Might have a square of good chocolate with my cuppa in a bit 🙃1 -
I spent a chunk of the day trying to sort stuff for my elderly friend, her neighbour came down for a hour and we tried to gently to persuade her to make some changes to her flat as she desperately wants to stay there but has recently fallen a few times (her neighbour picks her up as he's first on her call button). Too many trip obstacles, I did manage to persuade her to let me fill out an assessment form to see if she can get help at the very least she needs a carer in the morning. We also had to explain Chat AI on her WhatsApp she had a very confusing conversation with it this morning thinking it was her neighbour, she accused him of saying some weird things. I didn't laugh but had to avoid eye contact with him, it was an interesting conversation and it did tell her what it was 😁
i ended up with no lunch just a cuppa with her. Dinner marinated salmon with jasmine rice and raw veg in a salmon poke bowl. LO for tomorrow volunteering lunchLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0
