The weather here can only be described as filthy, so it's a great day for staying home catching up on some cleaning and tidying.
Online SM delivery arrived this afternoon so some portioning and stashing away kept me busy for a while.
Fruit needed using up so had a pear, a couple of satsumas and a mincemeat pie for lunch.
Use ups from the freezer and veg box tonight = cauliflower grill, mashed potato, brussel sprouts & ss peas.

It's not been a good year for pers in the family this year, 2 sisters and my niece lost dogs and 1 sister a cat. I've told his lordship who's 13 not to get any ideas for a few years.

We have gotten the larger milk bottles also and have learned to save the smaller sizes and transfer from the bigger size to 2 smaller sizes. We put one in the freezer for later and only put one in the fridge.5

Blue sky is back, and mild
Sounds a good idea, but thinking on I may look at lidded glass / plastic fridge door containers I can bung in the dishwasher.weenancyinAmerica said:We have gotten the larger milk bottles also and have learned to save the smaller sizes and transfer from the bigger size to 2 smaller sizes. I’m going out for an early lunch so I’ve only had some pineapple and half a chocolate bar. It looks like a nice sunny day today.2

Good morning everyone,
Still quite wild here but the rain has eased (for just now anyway) a bit. I need to venture out to take a photo of one of my wheelie bins to prove it is actually broken. Seems a bit unnecessary but needs must I suppose if I want a replacement. It's the original green bin from when they introduced them 15+ years ago so it's certainly lasted well.
I can thoroughly recommend the baked sweet potato recipe I posted yesterday, a good use up for cooked chicken though I didn't any so AF'd a chicken breast and sub soured cream for yoghurt or mayo.
Lunch is tbc, either fridge gravel or soup from the freezer. Dinner tonight is hoisin sausages with rice and microwave steamed veg. Hoisin Sausage Rice Bowl Recipe | Stir-Fry Recipes | Tesco Real Food

Some lovely sunshine today although still very windy, such a pleasant change from yesterday when I had to have the lights on most of the day.
Caught up on my christmas correspondence and got everything posted, I can't quite believe how quickly this month is passing.
Lunch - mini naan pizza.
Dinner - beef stroganoff, boiled rice and a crunchy green salad.

The handyman came and cut the worktop down this morning, moved the cupboard, and the new fridge freezer is now in place. I had moved the old ones out of the way but kept them plugged in in case of difficulties. After leaving it switched on for a few hours I transferred the food and managed to fit the 4 pint milk container into the door tray but not sure how it will fare with a full bottle. I will see how it goes before buying more containers. The taller condiments also fit into one of the door trays, and the smaller ones and chutneys have gone into a plastic basket on the shelf. It still looks half empty (or half full for the optimists). A couple of years ago I read about a 30/70 split f/f (i.e. fridge was 30% and freezer 70%) but couldn't find anything when I looked. That would have suited me but I'm sure I'll be able to adapt my shopping/eating.The freezer is pretty crammed but I did manage to fit everything in after making the effort to eat some of the stuff this week. More will go this weekend as I plan to use the random mixed veg. in a soup, and I'm planning a couple of burger meals to use up more of the bagel glut and the 7 burgers I seem to have accumulated. Sausage and mash tonight as a friend rang last night and I ended up with a tuna sandwich2
