Lovely news, caronc, hope they’ve had exactly the day they wanted 😊
Gloomy and wet all day here, it barely got light 😕
Braved it this afternoon to do a food shop but otherwise a lazy day, still fighting a bit of the lurgy.
Spinach and ricotta tortellini with tuna, sweetcorn and sun dried tomatoes for lunch. Made a chorizo and yellow pepper flatbread pizza tonight, with green salad and ready made beetroot salad.2 -
Congrats to the happy couple Caronc and a playmate for Frank 🙂
Although I said I won't do it, I did volunteer at Petworth today, it's their Christmas market all weekend and was manic even with the rain. I got there early to ensure a carpark space and there were already six cars ahead of me in the queue for the gates to open, we were told the car park was full by 10.06 the gates opened early at 9.45. I came home before the light show and choir, it had been a long day by 4 and another volunteer who lived local was working.
when leaving this morning I bumped into my neighbours with a new tiny puppy in a carrier, she wasn't looking amused, so I think he's in trouble as it was a surprise last night, their daughter was over the moon. To be fair my neighbour is on dialysis several times a week and isn't very well and she's the one who WFH. I think she would have taken me up on my joke to swap him with one grumpy tabby! As we got into our cars she was promising a catch up with me with no little ears listening.Last of my salmon poke bowls for lunch. Lovely sunshine & blue sky, such a change from yesterday.Congrats to all Caron
I hope yours turns out as tasty as mine did, one of my better efforts, which may not be repeatable due my not measuring ingredientsWednesday2000 said:
I found a whole bag of celery in the my fridge that I somehow missed the other day so I'm making soup too. Celery, carrot, potato and I have a carton of oat cream in the freezer so I'm going to whizz it all up with my stick blender.Farway said:Made my soup yesterday, carrot and celery the main items. so today is Soup dayHow on Earth did folks manage before stick blenders? Good afternoon everyone,
Thanks for all the good wishes, the happy couple had a brilliant day and my DIL looked stunning.
My lurgy lingers but isn't any worse so I think I've got off lightly.
I've as big pot of turkey and veg soup simmering, there should be at least 6 portions and a bowlful will cover most of our 5 a day! I finally liberated the second half of last Christmas's turkey carcass, make stock in SC overnight on Friday and started the soup yesterday. It's going to be rib sticker but relatively calorie light.
Some of that will be dinner tonight. Lunch is tbc probably cottage cheese or tuna salad. 2 -
I feel much better today. I had a hot shower as soon as I woke up and have been doing some reorganising and laundry.
I felt hungry so I had a very unheathy breakfast of fries in the air fryer with a buttered half a baguette. It is lovely and sunny here today, although a bit chilly.2 -
Quite a lot of rain overnight so thankfully no frost and it’s another sunny day today.
Hummus, crusty bread and the last of the grapes for lunch.
I put a curry sauce on to cook earlier this morning, heavy on the garlic and ginger
I’ll defrost some prawns and add them later and have that for dinner with some boiled rice and a mini naan.2026 Grocery Spends

Lovely sunny but cold day, nice change after yesterday. Had windows open this morning while wiping round the bathroom and cleaning floors.
Early lunch of scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toasted bagel before heading out for a walk and a look at a Christmas market and an art installation at local NT property. Left everyone queuing and came home for a cuppa and a chocolate chip cookie 😋
Roast chicken tonight with garlic and rosemary roasties, roast carrots, broccoli and port gravy. LOs for tomorrow plus a bit of a rubber chicken week I think.2 -
After yesterday's rain I woke up to frost this morning. A day of housework as my sister has come to stay for the week. My sister who lives local to me was down in Dorset for the weekend and gave her a lift back late afternoon as she doesn't drive.
Prawn and avocado spinach salad for lunch.

Another wet, grey & windy morning, drab is the wordI have to get back to my home insurance, they have not reduced the premium as promised last week, grrr, why are things so uphill? If I fail I'll cancel and go elsewhere, CBA to keep phoning. Some things are good though, I while on to amend my Asda delivery with the reduced chicken, I spotted salmon sides half price, they had similar last year and they are easily divided into decent portionsThen I spied offer shortbread, so some of them as well, to put by until Christmas
Lunch, more HM soupDinner, freezer rummage, or more soupWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray2
