Sun & blue sky, and mild with a breeze. Still a soggy world, though with the recent rains

My lurgy is mild, just an irritating tickly cough left really, slowly using up my supply of Fisherman's Friends

All this soup talk, I have odds of celery & some carrots around, I think soup on the way  :)

    Lunch, tinned toms on toast
Dinner, Corned beef hash, or lots of HM soup

    Numerus non sum
  • I have a cough today, but don't feel too bad. It is bright and sunny and mild here and it is supposed to stay dry all day. I had a toasted bagel with cream cheese and will have a quick snack before I leave. There is a cafe at the place I'm doing the class so I might get something there later.
  • Feeling a bit better within myself although symptoms still persist. I haven't had a cold/chest infection like this for a long time, hope everyone else stays well as I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Sunny with a brisk breeze so I got some of the germ laden clothes washed and out on the line.

My appetite is still not back to normal and I can't really taste much. I needed to use up the last two eggs so had them scrambled this morning and I’m enjoying the grapes and pears in the fruit bowl but not thinking any further ahead as my energy seems to lapse around midday.

Grey & drizzly first thing, not inspiring at all, from the forecast, this may be the best it gets with maybe snow Monday

Finalised my Asda delivery shop, then found they'd just reduced the offer price for large chicken, which is now less than my ordered medium one. A quick amendment and all's well, unless of course it's OOS

Made my soup yesterday, carrot and celery the main items. so today is Soup day

Lunch HM soup + AF croutons
Dinner, more HM soup + croutons
    Numerus non sum

I found a whole bag of celery in the my fridge that I somehow missed the other day so I'm making soup too. Celery, carrot, potato and I have a carton of oat cream in the freezer so I'm going to whizz it all up with my stick blender.

I got out a portion of the lentil ragu pasta too. None of it is defrosted yet so i will just have toast and a smoothie before that.

    Good afternoon everyone,
Cold and dry here but quite gloomy. The wind has finally died back. My lurgy has progressed to a slightly scratchy throat and a cold sore outbreak but don't feel that unwell just not 100%. My poor sis on the other hand is feeling dreadful but my nephew has the same symptoms as me. DS2 has escaped it so far!
Anyway grumbles aside I'm delighted that after a 7 year engagement DS1 and DIL2B are quietly tying the knot later today in an extremely low key event but just what they want, if they could have just filled in  the paperwork online they would have done that!  <3
Fridge gravel for lunch and tonight it's a mini cheeseburger made from pork meatballs with salad and AF chips.

Frosty start here and a very chilly wind coming from a northerly direction but the sun is shining at the moment.

I’m starting to get my appetite back and feeling like doing a bit of cooking but won't push it too far  :D

Lunch was a fish finger sandwich and I’ve defrosted some beef stew and puff pastry to make a mini steak pie for tonight which I’ll have it with some brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes.

That is good news Caronc, not to jinx anything could there be another announcement coming soon  ;)

  •  Congrats to your son Caronc.

It is horrible out there today, wet and blustery. I just popped to the shop but was happy to be back inside.
