    Good morning everyone,
My yesterday was a scorcher, it got to 37C in the kitchen/conservatory yesterday afternoon and even reached 25C in the north facing part of the house, Too hot for me tbh! There's a slight breeze today so it doesn't feel quite so stifling. My sis and nephew are coming over for a bbq tonight. I've lamb defrosted so need to get it marinated and do some veg prep. I better get my finger out and get it done before the kitchen heats up. LO chicken and salad for lunch.

I kept the curtains closed on the south facing side of the house yesterday and it made such a difference. I'm going to do that every time we have a heatwave from now on.

I have a bowl of cherries to eat in front of the TV. I had cereal for a change this morning.

Beautiful clear skies this morning and I'm so glad I remembered to close the curtains on the east facing windows before I went to bed last night, I'll shortly lower the blinds on the west facing before the sun moves round.

Disappointed with the ladies final yesterday, ended up switching off after the 1st set just hope the mens final is a bit more entertaining.

I had a good helping of chicken leftover for a lunchtime salad with some harissa yoghurt dressing.

Prawn and mixed pepper stir-fry tonight, cant make up my mind whether to have noodles or rice - I'll decide later.

Very warm again this morning but did the essential domestics early on. Then went food shopping as soon after they opened as I could and enjoyed the cool of the supermarket 🙃

Out and about over lunchtime so jacket potato with tuna mayo and a pot of tea purchased.

Mostly watched tennis this afternoon but did get two loads of bedding dried on the line late afternoon/early evening.

Burger, new potatoes, coleslaw and salad with some more of the lemon and caper dressing tonight 😋

My front curtains and windows were closed most of the day as the sun hits the front from noon it reached 28c again today but is due to drop by about 5c tomorrow.  It was a pottering day indoors sorting stuff out for Thursday.

i did fall asleep reading this late afternoon on the sofa and dozed on and off for nearly two hours so woke up stiff and sore 🙄 due to a sleepless night in the heat.

Omelette and bacon wrap for lunch.

i wasn't in the mood to cook after sleeping and it was after 6.30pm so when the brain was functioning again I cut up some melon, mango, strawberries and nectarine and had a big bowl for dinner. When it's cooler tomorrow I'll try JKSs courgette and halloumi recipe

The house feels very airless this morning. I have the windows open to try and cool the house down, but I am going to have to close them in a minute as the window and gutters man is coming.

I ordered a takeaway last night so I have leftovers to have today. I also made a chickpea salad yesterday so I will use that up too and I need to eat the rest of the cherries today.

    Good morning everyone,
Raining and much cooler here today. Yesterday it clouded over but apart from one very brief shower it stayed dry and we got our bbq.  :) The cloud cover lowered the temperature a bit and it was really pleasant outdoors. We sat out playing cards until it got dark. LOs had just been quickly bunged in the fridge so I need to sort out them today after we've used some for lunch. I've a couple of fajita steaks (rump tails) defrosting for tonight. We'll decide later if it's fajitas or steak sandwiches/gravy dip for dinner.
