Hot already, with the sun out, of course. Likely to be really too hot because not a puff of wind.I'll probably do much the same as Caron, enjoy sunshine & plant out some toms, plus a sweet pea my neighbour has given meLunch, fake Spam sandwichDinner, more salad, with fake spamEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

It is nice and sunny here. I don't like it too hot either. That heatwave in 2022 was too much for me.
It is a use it up day today. I am using the last of my fruit for a smoothie. I have the last pot of leftover bean salad and I'm going to make "dirty fries" with beans, cheese, salsa and jalapenos on top. I need to eat the last of the ice cream too so I will do that sitting in the garden.0 -
Good morning everyone,
Overcast and cooler here today, ended up just noodling in the sunshine yesterday so potting on remains on the to do. I'm potentially hosting two bbqs this weekend, one on Sunday and one on Monday so need to finalise menus and update tomorrow's Tesco order. Weather wise if the forecast doesn't change we should at least be able to cook outside even if we eat indoors.
LO Mexican chicken for lunch, I just followed the recipe using a bit less chicken and there's lots LO. It said serves 4 but there was easily enough of the rice, bean, veg mix for six. I'll freeze what's left after lunch as it would make a great soup base. Yoghurt lamb curry tonight with rice and salad.0 -
Changeable here, rain during the night, nice sunny morning but clouding over again and the temp seems to be dropping as the day goes on. Hairdresser appointment this morning, don't know where the past 6 weeks have gone, they've just flown past.
Cottage cheese salad and crusty bread for lunch.
A bit of a hotchpotch tonight, portion of chilli from the freezer along with leftover roast vegetables and couscous.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £103.530 -
Bad start to the day, my milk was off
probably because it was dated the 25th April 🙄 and I forgot to buy some yesterday. Not getting my morning cuppa can make me grumpy 😠
I went out to pick up the milk and some salad stuff in Waitrose as I had a voucher. I forgot there was road works on the way to the four major SMs!
Quiche and salad for lunch. Sirloin steak with chips, mushrooms, fried onions and broccoli for dinner with a salsa verde. It was a YS steak from Tesco and I'm thinking I wished I brought both of the reduced ones as it was a very nice steak and very tender.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
It looks like another nice day here and I have all the windows and back door open. I am having a bowl of blueberries and white toast with Flora and marmalade.

Good morning everyone,
Shame about the milk Brambling, nothing worse than not getting your morning cuppa!
Sunny but on the cool side here this morning, it got really quite chilly yesterday evening.
Tesco are due later and I suspect today might be one of those days that just disappear on you!
LOs for lunch and usual Friday tbc for dinner.0 -
Sunny and heating up, another hot day forecastI was out to Morries first thing, milk & bread mainly before the whole world realises the sun's out & it's bank Holiday, and time to clear the shelvesBrambling said:Sirloin steak with chips, mushrooms, fried onions and broccoli for dinner with a salsa verde. I don't use much milk Brambling mainly for cooking/baking so started keeping some in the freezer, 250ml containers and ice cube bags if I need very small quantities.
Sunny intervals but a chilly breeze here, our gardener made an early start this morning - luv the smell of freshly mowed grass
Last of the leftover couscous and roast vegetables with the remainder of the cottage cheese for lunch.
Tonight chicken curry from the freezer, and maybe AF chips for a change.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

Volunteering day and it was very warm in the office, when I got back to the car which wasn't as much in the shade as I hoped it was reading 32c and the steering wheel was blooming hot. It was probably 25 or 26 outside.
'Crab' stick and cottage cheese salad for lunch. Turkey soup from the freezer for dinner
