Typical Easter weather this morning, dull & a bit breezy, with maybe rain this afternoon.I've put off watering the pots at the front, just in case it does rainKnow what you mean about hot cross buns Brambling, I got some “richly fruited” ones on offer in my Waitrose delivery, they are dry as dust, perhaps they will be better if I warmed them up, but so far I CBA.Another one here with a fishy weekend, breaded cod fillets, fresh salmon and a pack of kippers, which I may freezeLunch, cold LO roast lamb in a sandwichDinner, rinse & repeat yesterday, breaded cod fillet, AF frozen chips + frozen peasButtered dry hot cross buns as requiredEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

I'm going to have a toasted onion and chive bagel with cream cheese for breakfast. It looks like another nice day here.0

Good morning everyone,
No hot cross buns for me dry or otherwise, I'm the only one that likes them but I only want the one - one half with toasted cheese and the other half with butter and marmalade. I don't want to buy a four pack and sadly the local bakery closed recently when the folk running it retired when their lease was up. I'm sure I'll survive.
Grey, damp and chilly today but to improve tomorrow.
Hector seems better today thankfully. Ari has had the same symptoms so they've shared a bug, I think, as they have different diets. He's a bit better today too!
Fridge gravel veg chilli worked well and cleared loads of lurking veg so it meant 250g mince and a tin of pinto beans fed us both last night, will be the basis for a burrito lunch for two and there's two full portions for the freezer.
Tesco due later, no subs or OOS and includes two decent sized sides of salmon which DS2 will skin and portion for me to vac pack and freeze. This evening I need to make the macaroons for Sunday's dessert and take the lamb shoulder out of the freezer. My freezer is brimming with lamb as I always take advantage of the Christmas and Easter offers.
Might not be about until after the weekend, so I hope everyone has a lovely Easter.0 -
Glorious sunshine after another chilly start, slight breeze but perfect for a brisk seaside walk this morning.
I did snack on a few seafood sticks after lunch yesterday Brambling but there's still a good amount left for another lunchtime salad today.
Tesco's extra fruity HX buns were nice, had one yesterday, froze two will have the other one today.
I decided to cook the lamb today so tonight I'll have a rarely cooked roast dinner with roast carrots, red onion and baby potatoesJan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

Easing into a 4-day weekend here. Bit dull but had a good walk this morning for a coffee meet up.
Beans with toast for lunch as there wasn’t much else in. Went food shopping this afternoon 😊
Creamy sausage and leek pasta tonight, with broccoli and peas. LO pasta for another day 😋0 -
I had a toasted HC bun for breakfast and stuck the rest in the freezer, even though only brought yesterday they needed toasting 😕
I popped around to my sister this afternoon and was given another HC bun with a cuppa, it wasn't a proper one it was cinnamon and chocolate I think. I'm more of a traditionalist 🙂 I CBA to go into town today if I had I would have brought a proper old fashion one from thebakery store in the market, only one as they aren't cheap.
Blue cheese, pear and walnut for lunch. I wasn't hungry when I got back from my sister so a late dinner of gammon salad for dinner

Overnight, and much needed, rain, sun's coming out now so apart from a breeze it may be OK for folks out & aboutBrambling said:I had a toasted HC bun for breakfast and stuck the rest in the freezer, even though only brought yesterday they needed toasting 😕I'm in freezing Easter bargain food mode at the moment, sausages gone in, roast lamb leg meat, pork chops & salmon portions to follow laterIt was a sausage bap for breakfast, just for a changeLunch, cold roast lamb bap [then rest of meat into freezer]Dinner, portion of pan fried salmon, jacket spud & salad [Rest of salmon into freezer]Maybe toasted HC bun if requiredEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

It did cloud over a bit yesterday afternoon with a spot of rain but the sun is shining again today.
Although I enjoyed them I'm glad the seafood sticks are finished, lunch today is lettuce "cups" with cottage cheese, cucumber, tomato & celery, drizzled with sweet chilli sauce.
I had a constructive morning in the kitchen portioning up the lamb, some for the freezer, some for a curry I'll make this afternoon and the crumbly/shredded bits made into a moussaka mix which I will probably have for dinner tonight.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

A damp start to the day which turned sunny by the time I went into town for a hour this afternoon, I brought a pair of trousers 4 or 5 weeks ago and have lived in them so ordered a pair in a different colour which needed collecting in M&S. I wandered the food hall but nothing I needed, so just picked up some YS half price pears and a pack of YS crumpets for 35p. Home via T express as I needed something chocolate for little one tomorrow and forgot when in town.Gammon and raw spinach wrap for lunch. I portioned up the salmon and kept the tail portion back for dinner before freezing the rest. Salmon and pea risotto for dinner with purple sprouting broccoli on the side (£1 on offer in Tesco 🙂)Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0
