It is bright, but not sunny here today. I just had two slices of bakery bread slathered with Flora.0

Imay have tempted fate with the lion / lamb comment 🙂 although not too bad today just greyer and cooler.
I tackled a wardrobe today and cleared out two big bags for CS, I'm dithering over a couple of heavy cardigans which I haven't worn for a while. After lunch I tackled my books and filled another two bags to get rid of, i'll run them pass my sister first, i easily led astray at the bookshop in Petworth and my neighbour gave me loads last week 🫣
I used a couple of small wraps to make a cheese, ham, onion and chilli quesadila. Monk fish coconut curry for dinner, four portions of the sauce with enough fish for three portions so one portion of curry in the freezer and a portion of sauce as well for a prawn curry at a later date. LO for another night in the fridge 😋

Good morning everyone,
Tasty sounding curry Brambling.
Overcast and here today but the wind has eased so it's a tad more pleasant out.
Physio was his usual thorough self yesterday so apart from residual tidying up and routine chores I'm for an easy day today.
DS2's birthday meal went well. There's a couple of portions from the vat of lamb keema, a little rice and 1/2 a tandoori thigh fillet LO so no worries about over catering as it seemed like a huge amount when it was all served!
Last of the spicy parsnip soup for lunch probably with a tandoori chicken wrap. Pork chop with veg and spuds for dinner.0 -
Cool wind this morning, sun trying, and falling so farWater bill arrived yesterday, just for sewage really, it's shot up £20 a month extra, gulp, there goes any pension increase. Not had the council tax yet, no doubt another shock dueCFO will be easy, bread & pull itLunch, cold LO pork & pickle sandwichDinner, repeat of yesterday, LO cold pork, HM coleslaw,+ salad bitsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

I just had my Asda order delivered. There was only one sub that I kept. I think they have improved in recent months. Ocado is still the best delivery IMO.
I only just had breakfast which was two wholemeal rolls with veggie pate and lettuce. I'm about to make a mango and banana smoothie.
I went out to the shop and it isn't as cold as I expected. I feel chilly now I'm inside so will put the heating on for an hour.2025 GOALS

A very lazy day here, weather was a repeat of yesterday so I stayed home with my feet up.
Another picky lunch using up crusty bread, salami, pickles and olives
HM chicken nuggets, AF chips tonight and so the plate wasn't completely beige I had some garden peas and a "pimped up" mayo dip.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £113.010 -
I drove into town for a hair cut lunchtime, I put two hours on the car as one is cutting it a bit fine and I had a few things I needed to do as well including confirmation in the Nationwide re a fixed ISA which is just about to finish. I had a 10% off SMART voucher for laundry products in M&S, I'm limited what I can use as most make me wheeze and they had the one I usually buy (they don't always have the sensitive scent free one) so a win win for me and will tide me over for a while. I did see that NW customers will get £50 in April reference their merger/takeover with Virgin this should be as well as the £100 we should also get from them 😁 probably both in time for car insurance.
Ham and cheese sandwich for an early lunch. I had some cooked chicken in the fridge so made a mushroom and chicken risotto for dinner with some broccoliLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good morning everyone,
Trying to be sunny but not really succeeding here today and it's pretty chilly.
DS2 headed off to his office early doors, he should be back around 9ish tonight so just Hector and I today.
I needed to do some voluntary admin which, deep joy, will involve phoning HMRC at some point if I can get through.
Fridge gravel for lunch. Yesterday I made up a lasagne using lentil ragu and bechamel from the freezer so an easy one for dinner tonight.0 -
Bright grey but cold.Asda order arrived, two items not available, one sub of larger bananas for same price as small.I sent potato salad back, because one non-available was coleslaw, and one was useless to me without the other. It does seem to be hit & miss lately, but nothing too bad to force a move. The missing coleslaw etc actually did me a favour, because I have LO HM coleslaw, and now I've made my own potato salad with some LO new spuds I had lurkingI got the Nationwide dosh as well, but Southern Water & local council have snatched that away PDQLunch, BLT sandwich now I have more B delivered this morningDinner, it's all LO & use ups. LO cold roast pork, LO HM coleslaw, HM potato salad, + salad bits.Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

I had the same thing this morning, a wholemeal roll with veggie pate. I got some potato croquettes so I will have some of them with a veggie burger and a big salad for lunch or dinner. I just made some tea with fresh mint.2025 GOALS
