The mild weather has brought the dreaded sea haar, it was pretty thick first thing then burned back but it's hanging around out there ready to come in again  :(

Caught up on a few chores this morning then a picky platter for lunch - salami, cheese, pickles & crusty bread.

Also put the SC on with a couple of pork chops in pizzaiola sauce, one for tonight the other for the freezer.

I meta friend in town this morning for a cuppa and catch-up, it was really nice to walk through town without a jacket 🙂 I bumped into a old work colleague I haven't seen for about 12 years so a quick catch-up with him.

I picked up some milk, fruit and veg in Waitrose which is where I parked the car and a couple of Swedish cinnamon buns in the Swedish cafe.  I popped into see my sister on the drive home and shared the buns for a late lunch and made it home for 4pm.

His lordship woke me at 7am this morning and I was a little bleary eyed when I got home, a small snooze was taken 🥱.

JO one pot pasta with smoked salmon for dinner

Sunny & mild, so mild my heating did not come on this morning, few pennies saved there

Hoping to dabble in the garden later, nice & warm by the looks of it

Asda online list completed for Wednesday delivery, prices keep creeping upwards despite all the rollbacks etc.

The pork joint has defrosted, looks OK, without freezer burn, so I'll roast it later

    Lunch, cheese + salad sandwich
Dinner, roast pork + salad bits?

I had to google that. My uncle mentioned "sea fret" as I noticed it when I first moved to the seaside.

I haven't had anything to eat yet and I'm hungry.

    Good morning everyone,
We don't really get haar/fret here in the West. Gorgeous sunny day here, a few degrees cooler than yesterday and to be chilly tonight but so lovely see some proper sunshine.
Bits and bobs to do today, it's DS2's birthday tomorrow and the family are coming round tomorrow evening for a mainly homemade Indian meal, well the main bits are homemade though it will be bought pakora, naan and poppadoms so I want to get some prep underway today.
Yesterday I turned a bag of heading past their best parsnips into a pot of soup. I had some last night with a griddled chicken wrap for dinner. Lunch today will be another bowlful. Steak dinner tonight.

Fret was a new word to me Wednesday, probably just regional differences. The haar/fret is not too bad today but it's still there offshore obscuring the horizon.

Decided to bake a batch of cheese scones this morning, ordered a nice flavoursome cheese in my online shop and thought it would make the perfect scones.

Lunch was one of the scones with some pickles and tomatoes.

Tonight I'm having a gammon steak, cauliflower & brussel sprouts

March is definitely coming in like a lamb this year hopefully the lion will stay away at the end 🦁

I had a disturbed night sleep so woke up with a headache, which lingered until early afternoon so a lazy day for me. I had a lovely long phone call with my eldest sister we caught up with all the family news, there will be another great grandchild for her this year.

Ham and cream cheese bagel for lunch with a watercress salad. Pasta with chicken and bacon in a creamy sauce for dinner.

Bright grey & mild after gorgeous weekend sunshine where I managed to get some gardening done at last
The flowering cherry opposite me has a pink haze along the branches where blossom is due any day now, and the neighbour's magnolia is about to burst as well

My long time frozen pork joint turned out fine roasted, it'll keep me going for a few days

Lunch, cold roast pork in a roll
Dinner, cold R Pork, boiled baby spuds, HM coleslaw & salad bits

    Good morning everyone,
It's more lion than lamb here this morning, strong wind, cold and grey. At least it's dry as I'm heading physio soon.
DS2's birthday today, how can my "baby" be 32?!!
Spicy parsnip soup for lunch when I get home. Indian tonight, we did a lot of the prep yesterday so not too much to do today. DS2 made a vat of lamb keema, I put together spicy onions and  have chicken marinating with pakora, popadoms, naan, rice and HM raita we're not going to starve.  :)

Ooo that sounds a lovely feast Caronc, its also back to cold, windy and occasionally wet here, sadly a couple of weeks before the temp due to pick up again.

Not much planned for the day other than a bit of freezer tidying and menu planning.

Crackers with pate, pickles and a side salad.

Spaghetti and meatballs tonight with half a garlic baguette.
