It has been a nice weekend weather wise and it is sunny and bright today, but chilly. I have eaten out a lot so back to more healthy eating again today. I had a mashed avocado and sea salt on two slices of toast with a bowl of cotton candy grapes and two clementines.0

I haven't minded the frosty starts probably because I'm not going anywhere early and it's melting quickly 🙂 it's worth it for the blue skies
Easy day pottering around the house, two loads of washing done and some bags filled for charity shops.
Bagels with smoked salmon and cream cheese for lunch. Picky tea using up some odds and sods from the fridge.

I had planned to go to Borde Hill gardens this morning which is about 14 miles away and recently opened again after winter unfortunately there was a road closed a couple of miles from it which would have meant back tracking about 10 miles for the diversion route (traffic news never mentioned it 🙄) the trip home took me via Leonardslee Gardens so I went there instead. I'm a member of both but was looking forward to the cafe at Borde Hill which has fantastic cakes 😋 the piece of lemon cake at Leonardslee was not that great far too dense for a sponge 😕 although I did enjoy sitting outside in the sun with it and a cuppa for lunch before wandering to look at the wallabies. I'm didn't walk down to the ponds as the hip objects to climbing back up the steep hill, next time I'll look into using their buggy. Lovely to see the primroses out and surprised at a couple of rhododendrons in flower although not in their main display in their rock garden.
I came home via Lidl as I realised my milk was dated the 1st, tasted ok in my tea but thought I would be pushing my luck for tomorrow. Lidl had a Greek week last week and I wanted to see if they had any of their canned giant beans in tomato sauce which i like, just as well I didn't need much else as their F & V was very bare. I did pick up some pomegranate vinegar to try and some of their marmalade (jars look like Bonne maman) which I haven't seen before.
I made a cottage pie for dinner with some tenderstem broccoli and French beans, there are LOs

Good morning everyone,
I had a lovely few days with my friends, I don't think I've laughed so much in a long time. Yesterday I spent the day with one of the women I had been away with and another friend who was back on a fleeting visit to the area.
Back to "old clothes and porridge today"!It's a manky day weather wise so I'm quite happy to catch up on chores and plan to tidy out the fridge and if time allows declutter under the sink which has become a bit of a glory hole!
Soup from the freezer for lunch and I've Italian sausage defrosting to make pasta with for dinner.
