Right, back to CFO after a couple of days of hosting a guest. I did heat up a YS Lidl pizza last night for my tea but hardly cooking lol (it was a long day after a couple of busy days).
A quiet, catching up day today - small food shop (quite a few LOs to use up), bit of tidying, load of washing and went for a swim. Also did a bit of voluntary admin.
Free Lidl sourdough with ham, coleslaw and salad for lunch. Made a prawn and pepper saffron orzotto tonight, served with the end of the bag of salad.
Nana’s magic soup made - 3 portions in the fridge for this week’s work lunches and 2 in the freezer. Feeling quite organised 😉0 -
Dinner last night with work colleagues past and present a late Christmas meet-up! It was good to catch up but the pub isn't one we would go back to. Only my boss knew I was retiring so I dropped that into the conversation 😲 an ex colleague on finding out that pensions tend not to be the same as salaries! asked me if I had checked I could afford it. My manager is still offering part time work, I'm still declining as 'yes I have checked I can afford it' 🙄 the next get together will probably be my retirement 😁
I was due to lunch with my sister today but little one was in hospital Friday night with gastroenteritis, 111 were t taking chances because of her medical history, my sister had been with her Friday, she has no symptoms but I was not taking chances. They were told the hospital was full of gastro and flu patients 😷
Sausage sandwich for lunch. I didn't fancy cooking the pork dinner I planned so a late dinner of beans on toast

I haven't had anything yet even though I woke up at 4 this morning for some reason. I think I will have toast, as usual!0 -
Good afternoon everyone,
Lol re the pensions not being like salaries, they certainly aren't!
Dull and definitely cooler today.
I'm girding my loins for a couple of days of doggy day care! DS1 & DIL2B are dropping Frank off tonight (and staying for dinner) and we're having Ari overnight too. I'm glad my wonky donkey is more or less back in the stable. My sis and nephew are joining us for dinner too. I'm making a massive pot of Dutch style pea and ham soup, DIL2B has made bread and there's various cheeses and cold meat in the fridge so we should be well fed. LO lamb in a wrap with salad for lunch.0 -
Another lovely spring day and finally the temp here has got into double figures, supposed to dip again later this week so I’ll enjoy it while I can.
Went to sainsers ended up with quite a big shop because of the nectar savings, so the freezer is starting to fill up again. I was never one to buy a lot of RM’s but have acquired a taste for their TTD scotch eggs and their own brand filled pasta, its usually the spinach and ricotta I buy but decided to try the four cheeses instead.
Lunch is a pitta stuffed full of salad and mortadella - good job I live on my ownand tonight I’ll do a beef, mixed pepper and noodle stir fry.

Back after AWOL yesterday, I was over DDs looking at her new house now she has sort of settled in, she still has lots to do, but that's what happens isn't it? At least they are in now.Makes it a bit longer because she has started a new job as well and is going in for training for a few weeks, she will be WFH most weeks once training completed, times have certainly changed. Her employer is one of the Google types, free food, health plan, sofas to sit round on, PlayStations, football tables etc., hope they can fit work in there somewhere.Dull with bit of a cold wind, went for prescription & then onto Morries earlier, only YS item in Ms was a bit of cheese, however I did buy a couple of fruit plants so sort of food relatedLunch, some Melton M pork pie, with salad bitsDinner, I'm roasting a pork loin ATM, it was on offer from Asda, nearly 2 kg lump of it at £4kg, but will last ages I think. I'll probably slice & freeze most of it once cold, then I can have some as and when required.Tonight it some of the roast pork, maybe with more salad bitsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Back to work after a couple of days off and I was in the office, surprisingly calm and not too many emails to catch up on 🙃
Had a portion of nana’s magic soup and a bread roll for lunch. Use up pasta tonight - it had ham, bacon, sweetcorn, broccoli and green beans in plus a pesto and creme fraiche sauce 😋0 -
A day off in lieu today and for a change it was sunny 🙂 I had a list of things I needed so caught up on those when it was a quiet Monday. I knew they are digging up the town but it seems they are also digging up in the other direction so I got caught by two sets of temporary lights. In the town they have closed one of the main roads into town for 12 weeks and today I noticed someone was digging up part of the diversion route for the next 4 weeks 🙄 they have also started on two other main roads seemed they were delayed by weather. It's expected to cause chaos for 3 months in fact the local MP has chipped in, must be a election year 🤔 as a safe seat he is usually conspicuous by his absence his PR team must have reminded him things aren't going good for the Tories at the moment
As I was In Homebase I went to the 'big' Tesco which is next to it and realised I haven't been there since lockdownI bet it will get busier as the road next to Sainsbury is closed. I didn't need much but had a wander and replaced my washing up bowl (I know how to live) and thought I would try their pillows as mine are getting very old and flat. It seems you now buy different pillows depending on what position you sleep in?
It was after 2pm when I got home so lunch was two YS custard tarts 😋 the box was damaged. Dinner the pulled pork meant for yesterday in a wrap with coleslaw, chips and corn 🌽Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Misty, dull and grey. Having it all here, sun yesterday, grotty today & yellow rain warning for tomorrow. There does seem to be lots of road digging up going on Brambling, they seem to take it in turns, Gas board, water, then road widening. If they ever get over the planning & environment hurdles we have Interconnector cables arriving from France all the way through Portsmouth to local substation, that should give plenty of traffic problems for a few yearsLunch, last of the MM pork pie + salad bitsDinner, the cold roast pork, with HM AF chips & LO beans

Good morning everyone,
Good old nearly the end of the financial year roadworks, we're the same here!
Doggy day care is in full swing. Frank is full of beans and very vocal - not barking just chatty! Really don't think I'll get much done today with lots of "helpers" lol! Frank finds the dishwasher and kindling bag very hard to resist!!
While we made a good dent in the pea soup there's lots left as I made 5L and in the end up there was only five of us as my nephew was offered an extra shift so soup for lunch today along with a slice of very good bread that my DIL2B made. JO's double pepper chicken with roasted sweet potato for dinner.0
