  • A weekend of socialising so not much CFOing.

I made scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toasted potato cakes for lunch yesterday but was then out to eat before the theatre last night.

Out for roast dinner today so just had a bit of cheese and crackers with a 🍷 this evening.

Trying to ignore the wind outside 😬

Weather made the decision to stay in today 🌧️ 💨  I even put off going to the compost bin 🙂 just some domestic admin and a little bit of sorting this morning then I caught up on the last couple of episodes of True Love this afternoon

one of my bread rolls for lunch with cheese and coleslaw.  Chicken and chorizo Mediterranean traybake baked with orzo pasta 😋 eaten with green beans and tenderstem broccoli.  Very tasty and very made up so after the LOs I doubt I'll have the same dish again, which will be a shame 😁

  • A bit wild night last night, I was woken around 3am by the wind, thankfully the power wasn’t affected so ended up with the TV on watching A Greek Odyssey with Bethany Hughes and Googlebox before I fell asleep again around 5am.

It’s a pleasant sunny morning now and the wind has died down, but the sea is still raging - not quite high tide yet and we have some spectacular waves crashing in. Lots of people out with their cameras, one poor guy got soaked - completely misjudged the overspill  :D

Nipped out to the SM for some crunchy salad bits, picked up an iceberg lettuce as I haven't had one for ages so it’s a prawn salad pitta for lunch. Not sure what I fancy for tea yet, might do something easy like egg & chips.

After the wind last night it's blue sky & sunshine this morning but still slightly windy.

Wednesday, delivery after 10PM, that is late, but needs must I suppose if first delivery cancelled. The drivers are earning their money at those hours.

I'm slowly working through my stockpile just in case supplies, some I built up during Covid and never used. One week will be a pasta week, I've a few jars of pasta sauce to use up, nothing exciting, just tom & veg type.

One of my clear outs will be today's lunch, a small tin of Macaroni cheese, BBE 2018 :o so maybe past it when I open it
Dinner, defrosting a W8rose MFO shepherds' pie, I'll use up the ageing broccoli & sprouts for some veggies

    Good morning everyone,
Hope everyone is unscathed by Isha. It's been wild here with bad flooding near the shore front and large sections of the town without power for a number of hours yesterday evening. Trains across Scotland are off until noon and then it will be a gradually resumption of some services. We kept our power, it wavered a few times but was only off for seconds, there's a greenhouse pane awol and a bit of fence damage but we got off lightly. DS2 is off at lunchtime to look at a crack that has appeared on an internal wall at one of DS1's mate's house!
It's still very windy but definitely calming now.
The jerk chicken dish DS2 cooked was delicious, thank goodness as he made the full "serves 4" recipe and it would have easily served 6 with LOs. Guess what's for lunch this week LOL. :D I might turn some of rice mix into soup.
Salmon in a bag with sweet potatoes and green beans for dinner.
  • The storm wasn't that bad here at all. I didn't have a good sleep as I keep having very vivid dreams.

I had a bowl of cereal with soya milk for breakfast. It is quite annoying having the Tesco delivery so late today. I'm going to have to go and out and buy loo rolls before then.

I'm going to have to close the window as it still feels quite windy here.

Lunch will have to be something from the cupboard or freezer as I don't have much fresh food left.

  • Slightly chaotic office day but all good in the end and a wfh day tomorrow to catch up.

Last portion of the celery and Stilton soup from the freezer with a chunk of my free Lidl crusty rye bloomer for lunch. Made a new potato, pepper and tomato traybake with feta tonight.

Blue skies after a windy night here as well we also got away lightly again.  I didn't have a good night sleep my hip was achy so I was awake at 3, 4, 5 etc unfortunately I then fell asleep without realising I haven't set my alarm last night  :s his lordship woke me up at 8.45am it was just as well I WFH as no time for a shower! Luckily the first meeting was 9.30am so I had time to logon, say good morning and grab my breakfast porridge. I prefer a more leisurely start

Last of my bread rolls for lunch with smoke sal on from the freezer and cream cheese,  I had some LO spicy pork mince and vegetables in the fridge which I pinged for dinner

Dull, drizzly & a bit breezy, supposed to be the next storm, but it's looking like we [including Brambling] are getting off lightly again

Still working my way through the cupboards using up the old stock of “stuff”
Lunch, back to Marmite on stale bread toast
Dinner, use up a jar of BBE 2022 tomato & bacon Pasta bake, which will give me chance to use up older pasta as well, two use up birds with one stone :)

It is raining here and I have to go out later, loking on the BBC I will catch the rain going there, but be okay coming home.

I have had toast and a banana and crisps so far today. I will need to have something else before I go and then make dinner when I get home. I'm having a Quorn stir fry with rice. I have a Wagamama stir fry sauce to try.
