  • Wow, I actually had a (NSD) No Spend Day yesterday. I think it is only about the 4th one of the year so far. I have the dentist later and I'm not sure how much that will cost. I feel a bit chilly so I'm going to put the heating on as I need to wash my hair.

    Meal plan:

I'm going to have a coffee and a toasted bagel with PB and some fruit for breakfast

I got some rolls out of the freezer last night. Lunch will be either soup and a roll or a Quorn chicken burger and lettuce in a roll. This depends on what gets done at the dentist and whether I can eat comfortably!

Dinner is pizza and salad. I'm sure I will snack too.

    Good morning everyone,
    Glad your back online N2BT
Tipping it down here but not nearly as windy and definitely milder.
DS2 off at 5am to head to the office will be back mid-evening.
    More admin to do today.
No haggis for us today, we're having chicken & cauliflower curry. I'm sure Rabbie would have enjoyed a curry if given the option! We're having Balmoral Chicken (chicken stuffed with haggis) on Sunday though. Fridge bits or soup from the freezer for lunch.

Back to dull & drizzle this morning after yesterday's spring like weather, maybe brighten later, allegedly.

Made a fresh quick loaf first thing this morning, for lunchtime sarnie, maybe cheese & tomato or salad stuff if it's not gone manky
Dinner, nuked LO pasta bake. It was OK but checking the price of the sauce now, £2.80, :o it's not a meal I'm likely to repeat.

  • I know choosing the right haggis can be a bit of a lucky dip and I normally get a mass produced one like Macsween or Simon Howie, but this year opted for the local butchers one. Unfortunately my lunch of haggis, neeps & tatties was a bit of a disappointment, way too peppery and a strong smell of offal, so wont be going for that again.

They also do a Balmoral Pie, Haggis BonBons, Chicken stuffed with haggis & wrapped with bacon, any of those might have been better than a plain old haggis pudding - lesson learned.

Tonight I’ll have a bit of a use up of odds and ends, some salad, daal and toasted pitta.

  • An edge had been chipped off my filling, but she said it was still intact. I got it replaced with a white filling as it was bothering me. She said that botox could work for my teeth grinding. She said she has it done too.

My mouth felt numb for ages after. I haven't had a filling in years. I did just manage to have soup and a roll with Flora about 5 mins ago.

The pizza is out now as I will stick to soft food today. I might have pasta instead. I did buy a casserole dish from a chazzer today so I could make a pasta bake.

  • Ooft, is it the weekend yet? Back in the office today and there’s a lot going on. Had a 🍸 when I got home!

More Thai sweet potato soup and pitta bread for lunch. Tuna steak with lentils, spinach and sun dried tomatoes tonight.

    Good morning everyone,
What a shame your haggis was disappointing N2BT.
Back to cold, wet and windy here.
Still working my way through the admin pile, I'm hoping a good effort today will clear enough that I can leave it over the weekend. We are looking after Frank from tomorrow until Monday and I don't think I'll get much chance to concentrate!
LO curry for lunch and usual Friday tbc for dinner.

Sun's back, blue sky & seems mild. .
Job for the day is to complete my Asda online list, nearly there, but I keep changing my mind. Whole chicken has been on & then off a couple of times already as I spot alternatives, and find I'm running out of items like detergent.

    Lunch, unknown sarnie, filling TBD
Dinner, the LO pasta bake I failed to nuke yesterday

Yes Caronc I was really disappointed because I do love a nice haggis dinner, never mind next time I'm in the SM I'll pick up a tried and tested one and have another go.

Smoked mackerel and beetroot salad with horseradish mayonnaise for lunch and Cauliflower cheese, corned beef and sweet potato wedges for tea.

  • Another office day today, covering absence - was a bit chaotic!

Last of the Thai sweet potato soup with some Lidl rye bloomer for lunch. Just made sausage and spinach gnocchi which was yummy 😋

Wine has been taken, been a bit of a week 😉
