Hope the voluntary issue was sorted Caronc 🙂
my sister was complaining this morning about the water situation Farway and they live approx 10 miles from Southampton I haven't spoken to her since so I don't know if it is still causing issues
I walked into town with my sister for a late breakfast at the Swedish cafe we had a Swedish cinnamon bun (made this morning) and a pot of tea each with a long gossip 😁 my treat as it's her birthday tomorrow it is always very busy in there, we also took my nephew back some of their cake
I didn't need much lunch so just had some fruit before a 3pm appointment to sort out a new will as mine is 18years old. I went into Sainsbury's on the way home and spent a little more than planned which is very easy at the moment, I did pick up a pork joint half price with nectar, i did debate over the half price beef or pork but the pork was a lot cheaper.Turkey soup and a crusty roll for dinnerLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Very stormy when I got up, eased off now, but it's extremely soggy outside, I woke early so got up, treated myself to smoked salmon & scrambled eggs breakfast, a pre-Christmas trial run, I used smoked salmon trimmings not the real sliced stuff, but it was OK.I'll get another pack of trimmings for HM pate at Christmas, nice & easyLunch, a couple of warmed up cheapo Asda sausage rollsDinner, easy option of last of the cold LO roast pork, with salad & HM AF chips. The posh tomatoes are nice and OK as sub, but I'd not pay real full price, four for £1.25, over six shillings a tom is not for meBrambling said:

It is rainy today and i have to go out for a hospital appointment. I am tempted to call a taxi as by bus I still have to walk for 10 minutes at the start and end.
I had some toasted ciabatta with plant based Philadelphia. I didn't make the soup yesterday so I will do that when I get home. I might call up and get my dog home a day early as I don't feel like going out today. I have been rained on enough this week!
I am going to have a hot shower, get dressed and call the taxi and kennel. I need a hot drink too.0 -
Good morning everyone,
Voluntary issue isn't resolved but after much to-ing and fro-ing we have a plan!
DS2 has Hector at the groomers this morning and then this evening we are off to my sister's for my nephew's birthday. I'm in charge of "Taskmaster" and DIL2B and DS1 are making cake/dessert.
Fridge bits for lunch and I think my sis is cooking chilli tonight.0 -
My sister is also still waterless indoors Farway u fortunately she still has water lapping at the back door step, she isn't happy so I haven't told her it could be Wednesday as they are hoping for tomorrow
we did a escape room this afternoon for my sister's birthday there is a relatively new one in town and although I didn't like the one I did with work in Brighton this was good fun and we escaped with 2minutes to spare 😁 7 of us did the escape room and my eldest nephew his OH and the little one joined us for dinner at my sister's house, little one entertained us 😁

Sun is out, and a dry day is promised, to make a nice change, it seems to have been raining forever.Brambling said:My sister is also still waterless indoors Farway u fortunately she still has water lapping at the back door step, she isn't happy so I haven't told her it could be Wednesday as they are hoping for tomorrowLunch, grilled cheese on toast + piccalilliDinner, YS MFO chicken dinner, defrosting at the moment. I may have fridge clear-out and steam my solitary LO leek, parsnip & celery to go with it, make a more substantial meal while tidying up the fridgeEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
Last night went really well. My nephew's birthday is actually on Tuesday so we are all getting together again, usually DS1 & DIL2B don't join us on Tuesday but are this week which will make it feel a bit more special. Taskmaster was hilarious!
DIL2B made the most delicious cake, just the right hint of saltiness https://www.waitrose.com/ecom/recipe/bi ... -silk-tart definitely one to bear in mind if you want something impressive but straightforward to make.
Domestic bits and I want to do some food prep this afternoon but that about as far as plans go for today.
Roast chicken dinner tonight and a bacon butty for lunch.0 -
I started feeling very shivery and freezing cold when I got in yesterday so I didn't go to the vegan festival as planned. I think it might have been Covid as was similar to how I felt in February when I caught it. I sat on the sofa with about ten layers for a few hours and took paracetamol and it passed and I slept fairly well last night. I want to get some tests to keep at home.
I have woken up feeling much better today and I'm doing a big sort out of my bedrooms.
I had mango and then toast for breakfast and I have jacket potatoes in the oven for lunch. It is nice and sunny today which makes a change from all the rain I got caught in last week!
I have an Ocado delivery coming today so I might see if there is anything that needs using up and have it with the potatoes.2025 GOALS

Thanks for the link Caronc it's always useful to have something like that for when I'm asked to bring dessert, only so many times you can do key lime lie, banoffee, Bakewell tart or meringue roulade all which look more difficult than they are 😁
I hope you are feeling better Wednesday 🙂
my sister had water my dinner time yesterday Farway although she is weary in case it goes again
A dry day for a change 😁 so some outside pottering was done this morning 👏
Soup for lunch 😋 I meant to have pork roast for dinner but some idiot put the pork joint she brought Friday in the freezer 🙄 so a prawn pasta dish for dinner. I'll need to rethink my menu plan this week as there was a lot of LO pork factored in and the joint can wait for a weekendLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1 -
Back from my long weekend with family so have had to tune back in to CFO.Was fed brunch before I left and sent home with the obligatory food parcel so, along with what I’ve already got in the freezer and pantry, hoping a small essentials shop tomorrow will see me through most of the week 🙃
Tonight was salmon (from the freezer) with a creme fraiche (from the open tub in the fridge - seems to keep almost indefinitely) and pesto sauce, new potatoes and green veg.0
