A bit brighter & breezy here, but the storm comes over later today and being near the coast I expect it to be very windy. Your sister will be getting a deluge onto sodden ground Brambling, hope it keeps clear of her house, must be awful watching flood water creep up & unable to prevent it

Asda delivery arrived OK, one sub at same price, posh vine toms in lieu of cheapo economy ones, pack says "fragrant" and reviews say they smell like real ones from the garden, I'll soon find out

Made fresh loaf, so with the delivery it's BLT for lunch, not using one of the posh T though, save them for a salad
Dinner, I may roast the new pork joint given the weather forecast, but not doing a full roast, maybe with HM chips or some new potatoes

I'm hoping we are far enough inland to miss the worst of the storm, although we keep getting weather warnings 🫣 it has been raining hard since 7pm but it currently isn't that windy yet!

Scrambled egg on toast for lunch.  I went to my sisters this afternoon we were going to babysit but her son and DIL to be never left 😁 I was invited to join them for a roast dinner 😁😋

  • Another long day but that’s my working week done 🙌

Portion of nana’s magic soup from the freezer stash with a cheese topped bread roll for lunch. Use up pasta tonight with bacon, broccoli, red pepper, herby cream cheese and pesto.

No CFOing for me for a few days. Have a lovely weekend everyone 🙃
  • I've woken up to quite a bad storm here in Broadstairs. I'm wondering if my brother should wait until it calms down a bit to drive us back to Essex.

I don't have any food here at the Airbnb. Just some bread without anything to put on it. I would walk to Coop if it wasnt for the weather!

I might make a coffee instead.

Day started bright, but that never lasted, tipping down by eight & wind is starting up now, supposed to be bad later, but I'm battened down so should be fine, apart from "normal" gutter overflowing of course

I was thinking of doing a full on roast with the weather, but I'm going off that now, so I don't know. I roasted the pork joint yesterday and some has been sliced off & eaten, sampled while it was cooling in the kitchen

Lunch, was going to be BLT, but I had the B for a cooked breakfast, I may have a mushroom omelette now Asda have delivered mushrooms
Dinner, as above, not sure but roast pork will feature somewhere

    Good morning everyone,
We had a few hours of heavy wind and rain yesterday but it cleared late evening and was dry and frosty this morning.
DS2 is off to Newcastle so Hector and I will have a quiet day. I've some admin to sort out and will clean the bathroom but apart from that my book and the sofa sounds appealing.
There's LO veg and sauce from yesterday's casserole so that's going to be blitzed into soup for lunch. I've chicken defrosting to make curry this evening.

The worst of the storm seemed to have bypass us 🤞 there were some surface water flooding causing issues on a couple of main roads and a couple of trees down mentioned on FB, my sister drove to work with no issues this morning and the school she is working at today is on the coast whereas the next town to us also inland closed a lot of their schools 🤷‍♀️. I can now hear the wind blowing up and I'm wondering if putting my recycling bin out was a good idea  :|

I followed guidelines and stayed home today 😁 I made a turkey soup for lunch from the stock I made yesterday I had to swap leek for the usual onion as I seem to have run out of onions (still tasted great 😋) so a trip to a SM sometime tomorrow mainly for milk, fruit and veg as I'm determined to eat down my freezer so I've space for Christmas stuff as my sister usually asks for space.

Veggie Sausage and bean casserole from the freezer with veg for dinner although TBH I picked out the sausage as I found them too rosemary heavy when I made it but decided freezing them was a good idea! The beans and tomato sauce was nice 😁

Storm over, like Brambling I seem to have been bypassed, lots of rain & wind, but nothing like damage others had. DD over Southampton way is having to collect free bottled water, water to her area has been cut off, it seems the wrong sort of water got into the water works
Now it's breezy & sunny but very soggy of course

Meals today are undecided, plenty to choose from, just can't make my mind up right now. Could be LO cold roast pork + salad for convenience

  • The people who owned the Airbnb said we could stay longer due to the weather, but it brightened up a bit and we left. My brother had work the next morning. The rain eased off and then started again as we got onto the motorway coming home. It did ease off again, luckily. I didn't see any damage in my local area, but in Broadstairs there were a couple of trees on the road.

I felt cold when I got in so the heating went on for a good three hours. It still feels chilly today, but at least it is sunny.

I have had toast for breakfast.

I have a whole box of different tomatoes in the fridge so I am going to buy garlic and onion and make a roasted tomato soup later. I feel like I'm catching my brother's cold so lots of garlic will help! I have taken paracetamol. His girlfriend was ill, but it isn't Covid.

    Good afternoon everyone,
    Bright and cold here today.
I'm tearing my hair out with my voluntary role, why is nothing straightforward...... I have done all I can until I get a couple of call backs!
Tesco have been so the fridge is looking respectable again. Pork pie salad for lunch and usual Friday tbc for dinner.
