Nice blue sky & calm after yesterday's battering, glad I was inside at least

Sorry to hear the baby, is back in Brambling, maybe once the weather improves and with fresh air & some sunshine she will get more robust, at least your CV seems a weaker version, not heard much about next booster shots, but I assume eventually they'll get round to those in need

Made another overnight French loaf, so crusty bread sandwich for lunch, salad most likely
Dinner, I have some LO cold chicken breast thing from the other day, so that and ? chips?, salad? sarnie?

Only other task is arranging routine NHS eye test, letter received & due. Seems it can be booked online at Specsavers, so I'll find out later

    Good morning everyone,
Hope both you and baby are improving Brambling. <<hug>>
    Mixed here today and chilly.
Another day of pottering and admin. Need to finalise tomorrow's Tesco order.
LO curry for lunch, the recipe worked really well though needed some garam masala added at the end to lift it. JO's one pan sausage pasta for dinner tonight.
  • Yes, sending healthy vibes, Brambling.

Finally had a really good, productive day in the office - does make me feel better at home time 😀

Rest of the tuna harissa couscous for lunch and made a new potato, halloumi and roast veg (LO out of the freezer) hash tonight.

Glad it’s Friday tomorrow, been a long short week…

I know what you mean about a long short week JKS  :| and a fun day planned for tomorrow as our system goes down early morning for updates until Saturday evening, so I'm sure there will be a lot emails from people who haven't read the several warning emails sent out, it also means I'm working for a few hours Saturday which I could do without   :(

The baby came home 9pm last night with a couple of different inhalers, my nephew was just two when he had his first one after my sister was told for months by her GP 'children under 2 don't get asthma'.  Hopefully it will help, I wonder if their two indoor cats help, but it's not my place to say anything and as I don't want two more (his lordship doesn't play nicely with others!) I'm keeping quiet 🤐

I think I'm getting away lightly with CV I'm still really tired and chesty but it could be a lot worst, foodwise I'm still not very hungry so lunch was turkey soup.  Dinner toast and marmalade

Another wet & grey morning, but it's also recycle bin day, like a full stop to the week

Caron, you talking of Tesco reminded me to do the same for my Asda order, it's costing less this time because I've left meat off due to me overstocking and then not eating it. I'm hoping to start getting my meat from Marks, which will cost more, but at least I can see it & sort it out.
No convenient local butcher of course
I have stopped using the online local farmer meat shop because of minimum quantities and my basket emptying once I close down, so I have to start over every time, just too frustrating to repeat everything

Lunch today, probably another salad sarnie
Dinner, sirloin steak, maybe with egg & chips or a salad

    Good morning everyone,
Good to read that baby is home Brambling.
Shame about the online butcher Farway.
Sunny but cold here, I'm sneezing like a good 'un hay fever I think, not helped by my neighbour's gardener cutting the grass.
Tesco have been, just one minor unavailable item.
Bathroom to scrub and then I'll see what the day brings.
LO curry for lunch and usual Friday tbc for dinner. I was going to have the curry yesterday but DS1 had to pop out and treated me to a sandwich meal deal from Sainsburys. Yummy prawn sandwich.
  • Wow, it’s rained a lot today! New gutters being put to work 😀

WFH today but out first thing to get the car serviced, waited for it and made use of the garage Wi-Fi to clear some emails. They washed the car which I think is what started the torrential rain 😂

Posh fishfinger sandwich for lunch, with pickled gherkins in a toasted pitta bread. Made creamy leeks and cannellini beans tonight, served with a piece of salmon. LO beans and leeks in the freezer for another day.

    Yep another wet day ☔️

Farway did I imagine you saying Waitrose has put the delivery charge up? As I noticed that mine is still £3, not that I've ordered one for a while

Turkey soup for lunch with the last of it going into the freezer, I made a big bowl full with a £1.50 drumstick from the farm shop, a some veg 😋

Dinner was was a posh fish finger sandwich, tartare sauce and raw spinach

Sun's struggling to make a go of it, but still chilly

No, I have just checked & it's £4 now, but maybe that is area related? I think it's a cost I'll have to pay though due to having champagne tastes with brown ale budget, and some things are just not available elsewhere, and it's not just quails eggs, wider cheese & jam choices for instance

I'm looking around at alternative local meat supplies, delivery is a tenner but could be worthwhile, and I may make a trial buy to try them out regarding quality & packaging, actually I suspect quality is a given as they are located in a local posh market town. I know I could go over to the garden centre farm shop, but stock is a bit hit-and-miss, I've coma away before without finding what I wanted

Trying to finalise my Asda shopping list, they seem to have run out of butter now, even the dear stuff and look alike are unavailable, very odd

Made another overnight French loaf for today, just cooling at the moment for lunchtime sarnie, probably a salad one
Dinner the remaining sirloin steak, maybe with scrambled eggs today?

    Good morning everyone,
Tesco are increasing their minimum basket to £50 next month. That said it's be £40 for at least 10 years so I suppose it's overdue.
Lovely day here though not hugely warm. This morning we brought the garden furniture out of storage so fingers crossed for some decent weather.
DS2 has taken Hector to visit ex-OH then later we are looking after Frank while DS1 and DIL-to-be head to a mate's wee girl's birthday party for a couple of hours. Hordes of toddlers and a 12 week old pup would not be a good mix!
DS2 in charge tonight. He received a sous vide stick for his birthday so has been having a play with that to make pulled pork https://www.seriouseats.com/sous-vide-b ... der-recipe. We'll have it with tortillas, salad etc. and he's made some quick pickled red onion this morning. Cheese and crackers for lunch.
