They look so sweet and innocent Caronc! I'll swap one for the grumpy old man I live with, he doesn't like the rain
I can do you a deal on some 1st Birthday banners and a number 1 candle
I hope were able to enjoy your steak today Farway
A mixed bag weather wise today, typical wet for a bank holiday so it was indoor jobs. I sorted the small chest freezer this morning, it's amazing how much room it gained being tidiedand it helped me to menu plan for this week. My hands were too cold to tackle the kitchen one but TBH it is a lot more organised and I mostly know what is in it
I found the turkey drumstick which had migrated to the bottom and I'll make soup with that this week before it gets much warmer otherwise it will be there until the Autumn. No surprises in there just a couple of duplicates
Lunch was sticky chicken wings and salad. Dinner will be rump steak, jacket potato, corn of the cob, stirfried tenderstem broccoli with spring onions and sesame seedsLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Yep, rainy bank holiday here too, especially this morning. Pottered around at indoor jobs and went for a swim. It turned into sunshine and showers this afternoon so I did make it to the tip - the excitement 😂
Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toasted bagel for lunch. Made creamy tomato, chicken and chorizo pasta tonight (also had the end of the mushrooms and some sweetcorn chucked in), served with green beans.
Pleased to have found all the past series of Shetland are now on iPlayer (I was late to the party but really enjoyed the two most recent series) so that’s my viewing sorted for a few weeks 🙃0 -
Waiting for the rain to arrive later, which will help decide on dinnerManaged my posh steak yesterday, very nice but debatable regarding "value" but OK for a treat once a year.Seeing JKS post about mushrooms reminded me that I have them still in the fridge, forgot them, Doh!
I'll take them out & leave on the worktop to prevent repeating that mistake
Lunch will be LO pizza from yesterday lunchtime, served cold this time roundDinner, depending on rain, could well be a RM stuffed chicken breast, roasties & veg. Or maybe more steak, eggs & chips + the forgotten mushroomsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good morning everyone,
They may look innocent Brambling but............
Love Shetland JKS and I wouldn't fling Dougie Henshall out on a cold night.
Breezy but bright here today, it's supposed to turn pretty wet and wild this evening. I hope it holds off until after we get back from my sister's. It's her week to host dinner.
Yesterday's quiet day didn't quite happen so attempt 2 today. Apart from tidying the fridge and straining the lamb stock I made overnight in the slow cooker there's nothing on the "must do today" list.
Salady bits for lunch.0 -
Indeed caronc, he’s easy on the eye isn’t he? And DI Perez is lovely 😊
Bright and breezy here to start with but been wet and grey since mid-afternoon. A quiet, productive wfh day then a bit of life admin at the end of the day.
LO chicken and chorizo pasta for lunch. Just had beans with toast so I can swim later 🏊♀️0 -
Another Shetland fan for various reasons as well 😁😋
I woke up with no sense of smell this morning and tested positive for CV 😷 other than that i don't feel too bad, tight chest and tired, hopefully it will stay that way as I'm too busy work wise this week. I was feeling better at the weekend after last week sniffles which I'm sure was hayfever as it almost disappeared after I upped my hayfever tablets and I tested negative before going out Sunday. I worked on my own again today and really didn't need it to be as manic as it was 🙄 or have to deal with somebody who was being a diva, I lacked the patience to deal with him 😡
I made turkey soup today, pressure cooked the drumstick to make stock first thing then the soup lunchtime, lack of smell and limited taste means I think I over salted it by my mouth feel this afternoon. I had a mug for lunch And scrambled egg on toast for dinner.

Very much calm before storm weather here, had one downpour already but much worse on the way they say, I'm all set though so will just sit and listen to it. I have discovered Mad Men on some streaming channel, so hooked into that for nowThe Easter hot X buns went stale before I could eat them all, so this morning they became the base of a cheapo trifle using my last OOD jelly and tin of Peach slices at the same time. Added new jelly to my online shop alreadyLunch I'm hoping to use up the going manky mushrooms, creamy manky mushrooms on stale crust toast, sounds delishDinner, salad despite the weather forecast. LO cold ham, HM AF chips + salad stuffEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
Sorry you've been smitten with Covid Brambling, I know a few folk who seem to have down with it on top of having another lurgy. Hope you don't feel too rubbish
Wild weather here overnight, lots of posts on the local FB pages of folk losing garden furniture coverings. Calmer now but very cold and lull before the next batch of squalls.
DS2 is Frank sitting so just me and Hector today, think it might be a day of "Hector, no" going on antics so far!
Call from the Drs first thing re last week's blood tests. GP wants a routine chat but I think they must be generally okay as appointment isn't until 12th May. When they were iffy last year appointment was in a few days. I'm hoping the minor diet changes and the lbs lost so far have nudged my blood sugars back down or if not they are no worse as they were only very slightly higher than they should be.
Pottering day on the cards and a bit of admin.
Lovely chicken Caesar salad at my sister's last night. Salady bits for lunch though I might see if there's any soup lurking in the freezer. Potato and pea curry for dinner.0 -
Usual offsite day today but due to various absences and clashes, there were only two of us for this morning’s meeting so had a good catch up but also got some tasks done. Then a looonnnggg meeting this afternoon.
Wet and wild on and off with sunshine in between. Very impressed that the guttering guys managed to get up and get mine replaced as planned - hoping to notice the difference in noisy drips outside the bedroom windows 🙃
Harissa tuna, chickpea, sweetcorn and roast pepper couscous for lunch. Quick sweet chilli prawn and veg noodles tonight after a good swim.0 -
I had a hot / cold night so sleep was a bit scare and today I've been tired and achy and a little chesty but well enough to work and not as ill as I was with the pre-Christmas lurgy. I'm hoping this is as worst as it gets.
Baby is unfortunately back in hospital the cold she had at the weekend (negative CV) effecting her breathing again but only the local hospital and although her stats dropped to 80 over night she was causing chaos this morning crawling around her room getting into everything, because she can cough she is clearing her lungs herself to some extent but the inhalers they gave her yesterday didn't work as well as they hoped they would.
I haven't alot of interest in food, so lunch was a mug of turkey soup and a toasted hot cross bun. Bagel with cream cheese and salad for dinner with some fruit. Menu plan has gone out the window this weekLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0
