  • It’s felt cooler here again today and been very grey all day with drizzle this evening.

Lazy morning of Saturday cooking shows, although I did clear out old emails in front of the telly. Went to a local retail park this afternoon to research a large furniture purchase, called in at the farm shop on the way home for chicken and eggs. Completed the large purchase online when I got back.

Cheese and tomato tortellini for lunch with broccoli, sun dried tomatoes and pesto. Been out to a local am dram production this evening so we had early pub supper first 😋

Rain has stopped, now it's just dull & grey but supposed to be cheering up in the next few days, which should see all the pent up blossom burst open

Finalised my Asda online for Wednesday delivery, was going to skip it but with Easter thought I'd get it done while things are still showing as "in stock" Added in a lump of gammon, may not be as nice as Waitrose, but I expect I'll slow cook it anyway so should be tender by the time it's sliced

Blooming milk had gone off :o , only realised when my morning cuppa curdled, luckily I always have some Long Life just for such an event. Fresh will arrive on Wednesday

Lunch is another HM lamb burger, I may freeze the other remainder because I'm getting fed up with burgers, even HM can become repetitive
Dinner, due to Use By dates, it's RM liver, bacon + mash. I'll add some frozen posh veg as well

    Good morning everyone,
I had a lovely few hours with the kids and pooches. Frank is so much more confident than he was on his first visit. DIL-to-be brought a bag of wild garlic from the food market that runs monthly near them. Some was used in a dip to have with our lunch and I'll turn the rest into pesto for the freezer.
Plan to strip my bed and change to a lighter duvet today, then head to the kitchen. I need to clear the area near the boiler as it's getting serviced tomorrow.
LOs for lunch and I've a turkey breast defrosted to roast for dinner tonight.

I made myself a peanut butter sandwich and a cup of coffee and got back into bed. I'm watching YouTube videos and I'm going to read another cookbook I bought from a charity shop. Jamie Oliver's Ministry of Food.

I think I am going to batch cook later. I thought chilli, but I might change my mind if I find something in there that sounds better. I've got shopping coming tomorrow so I wanted to use up whatever veg I have left.

I need to wash my hair and clean the bed covers and do laundry later as well.

  • Turned into a lovely day late morning so two loads of washing chucked through and dried on the line 🙃

I’ve also done some voluntary admin, been for a swim, changed the bed and prepped work lunches for this week’s office days.

Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toasted bagel for lunch. Greek style chicken thigh traybake tonight. There’s LO chicken and roast veg to be turned into other meals. Roasted carrots with cumin seeds and chilli flakes whilst the oven was on for the work lunches.

Caught up with first episode of Blue Lights (very good) and just settling down to watch Grace. Happy Sunday 🍷

It turned into a lovely day here as well 🌞 it was quite warm out this afternoon so bedding was also done here

A pottering at home morning and after lunch my sister and I popped out to the large garden centre the other side of town, they have a nice little cafe which does just drinks and cake, handy if you want to avoid their busy restaurant.  We had hope to have one of their delicious scones but we were between batches so settled for a equally nice slice of Bakewell tart, we sat down in time to see the warm scones come out, gives us an excuse to go another time 😁 I picked up a little book for the baby who is one next week and will give my nephew cash as the rest of her present to buy something she needs.

Lunch was a little bit of LO salmon and egg salad. Late dinner was yotam ottolenghi recipe for lamb meatballs and braised fennel 😋 I don't usually put currants in the meatballs as per the recipe but did add some chopped dates this time 😋 I halved the recipe but not the sauce as I find that doesn't always give enough, with rice and broccoli

    Good morning everyone,
Frost first thing and still very chilly but it's lovely and bright. I'm up and organised early as I had a blood test appointment first thing, a follow up to the one I had last year when my blood sugar was slightly high so fingers crossed it's fine this time. I've been mindful of my diet and have lost 5lbs since mid-January which I'm pleased with. A steady 1/2lb a week loss works for me without feeling too challenging.
Boiler service today between 11 and 5pm. I'm hoping it's earlier rather than later in the time frame.
LO turkey with salad for lunch and I'm trying this curry for dinner tonight Potato and pea curry recipe - BBC Food

I just got another text about my thyroid blood test form. I will go and pick it up tomorrow. I had to order a prescription online today as well.

It is a lovely day today, bright and sunny. I went to Coop this morning to buy fruit and a few other things. It was so quiet on the streets now the kids are off school!

I have had the guys from the council come round to pick up the bulky waste this morning, the grocery delivery came and the workman came back to paint where he had filled in the crack in our wall. We finished watching the first series of Mindhunter this morning too so it has been quite busy.

I have eaten loads today, a fruit salad, a smoothie, a hot cross bun and a massive bowl of HM lentil soup.

I am just sitting down with a cup of tea and a couple of biscuits.:)
