Good morning everyone,
Dry weather didn't last and it turned wet & windy (and bitterly cold) again yesterday afternoon so I didn't get my walk.
We're pooch sitting for my sister's dog today and overnight, he'll arrive soon and then the mayhem will commence!!
DS2 got a burger press for Christmas, one of the discs has a dimple so you can stuff them so some blue cheese will be getting popped in the middle of our burgers tonight. Salady bits for lunch.

Farway said:You were lucky to find Milk of M Wednesday, on another thread they are saying there's a shortage of the stuff, anyway gald it worked
I had sourdough and marg for breakfast.
I did make pasta yesterday with soya mince (I forgot I had in the freezer) so I have leftovers for lunch.1 -
So much rain this morning! Then it brightened up and is definitely turning colder…what strange weather 🤔
Very easy pottering day, moved some laundry around and did a food shop this morning. Main meal of pork in cider, mash and broccoli at lunchtime because I was at the cinema early evening. Just had a smoked salmon sandwich and a glass of wine for supper 😋0 -

I worked a couple of hours today with my manager and he offered to do the early part at 8amso I only had to work between 11-1, usually something goes wrong when I work and it takes hours 🤔 I'll get a Friday off at the end of the month in lieu
Other than going out to pickup my repeat prescription and milk and cheese I stayed in out of the rain
red chicory, blue cheese and pear salad for lunch, there are walnuts in the freezer but I cba to go find them. Rump steak for dinner, brought at Christmas when it was a third off in Waitrose, with AF chips, mushrooms, onions, runner beans and broccoliLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
And back to sunshine this morning, but much colder, ideal for brisk wrapped up walking for those that fancy it, but count me outI've got a loaf on the make in the Panny, was going to leave it until tomorrow, but my freezer rummage revealed Smoked Salmon, from Christmas buys this year, so I will be following JKS with a smoked salmon sarnie later, no wine thoughLunch, I think I'm going to have "Brunch" today, a bit of use up & a bit of something warming. I'm going to try "fried bread" in the AF, croutons work well, so I'm guessing fried bread is just a big crouton?Hope it works because I love fried bread, and if you use olive oil it's healthy, well maybe not really, but it is vegan, so it ticks one box at leastAlong with the FB will be use up fried eggs, fried [sautéed] fresh mushrooms and some grilled slices of Bacon Grill, and maybe a grilled fresh tomato?Dinner, I have found a well past BB date [2021] of pasta sauce, so could be pasta of some type, or the smoked salmon in fresh bread sarnieEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good afternoon everyone,
My we had some wild weather here yesterday evening and overnight. It's slightly calmer this morning but we've snow forecast for later. My sister's pooch had to be literally dragged out to do his business before bed, Hector was loving it!
A pottering day planned, I want to start a pot of soup amongst other kitcheny things.
LOs for lunch. Slow cooked peri peri lamb shanks, Nandos style spicy rice and garlicky mushrooms for dinner.0 -
Pottering day here too - have stripped and remade the bed, dusted the bedroom, made celery and Stilton soup, been for a swim and done some voluntary admin.
Lunch was scrambled eggs and grilled tomatoes on toast. Made honey and mustard chicken, parsnip and carrot traybake tonight, served with green veg. LO chicken in the plan for tomorrow 🙃1 -

pottering day for me as well although not wanting to disturb a sleeping cat the bed will wait until tomorrow. I spent the afternoon batch cooking and have lunch soup and frittata as well as a couple of dinners cooked and some prep work for veg etc
lunch was poached egg on toast. Dinner prawn and mushroom risotto with wilted spinach and peasLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Cold and dull & damp morning, no snow but forecast said maybe some later along the Sussex coast, standby BramblingBrambling said:Farway said:Lunch, I think I'm going to have "Brunch" today, a bit of use up & a bit of something warming. , my AF is not large enough to fit a decent slice of bread in so had to halve it, then came the olive oil application onto the bread, a right mess. The other half I did in the frying pan once mushrooms were nearly done, turned out much better but not like proper greasy stopping heart fried bread
Having the fried style brunch yesterday meant I was not hungry for a "proper" dinner, so had smoked salmon sarnie insteadToday's meals, lunch last of the smoked salmon, possibly in an omelette, CBA with scrambling eggs today even in microwaveDinner, the very OOD pasta sauce with whatever pasta shapes I find, seems to be loads of spirals for some reason, maybe they were cheap or only ones available at the time?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
It seems to me that most things work in an AF, apart from broccoli. I put it in there and it came out burnt even after about 5 minutes, never attempted it again since then. I just fry my veggies in olive oil or steam them now.
I have gone off olive oil actually, wondering if that is another post-Covid symptom. I don't like brussels these days either. I might buy avocado oil next time if I can find it.
I just had a Quorn roast "beef" toastie and a cup of Yorkshire biscuit tea with oat milk. It is raining (again) here and I have to go out later so I hope it clears up!2025 GOALS
