    Good morning everyone,
Productive though very painful physio session yesterday and I'm very sore and bruised today. Turns out I have trapped one of my femoral nerves but thankfully my hip joint is okay as sometimes it can be an indication of hip dislocation. Apparently it can be tricky to resolve but I've exercises to do lying on my bed and I'm back next week for more manipulation and laser zapping. I'm glad I went rather than leaving it any longer as unlikely to clear up by itself.
Manky wet day here so no plans to stray.
My sis and nephew are coming for dinner, I slow cooked a gammon joint yesterday and will slice and reheat it with pineapple this evening. We'll have baby roast spuds, broccoli, carrots and corn with it.

Hi @Brambling and @Wednesday2000 - eww here! I read it that way too 😆

I’m vegetarian, mostly vegan at home and normally do pretty well with protein. I tend to have nuts with breakfast, nuts or tofu with lunch and dinner. I’ve realised that HM soup is all veg so top it with seeds and maybe cheese if there’s any around (I bought cheese to take to a Xmas meal - the host was sick so we cancelled and I am working my way through it!).

I’m not sure how my meal planning failed me, quite, as I plan it all in there, but it did and now there is no more mint chocolate left as that’s what filled up with!

That would be good if you can retire next year Brambling. What age will you be if you don't mind me asking?
I'll be 60 in May next year so 16 months away, I have a good 25 year pension from my previous job so tax wise at the very least I want to go part time but would love to retire early. Depends on cost of living costs this time next year 🙂

I'm afraid Eskarina you may have to live with EWW if I'm feeling lazy 😁

Wet day here so no going out until I realised at 8pm that my milk was dated the 8th. It has been ok today but I would hate for it to be off tomorrow, I need my morning cuppa.  I spent ages searching for my car key and ended up using the spare as I tracked back in my head when I last drove and did I come in with bags. There was a moment of panic when I remembered I came in Sunday collected the rubbish and put the bin out  :s luckily it was in the pocket of my top I wore Sunday in my wardrobe, I came in and changed and put a thicker one on 🙄 at least this time they weren't in the fridge (that time they were in my hand when I put milk away :* )

Lunch was a egg Mayo and watercress sandwich.  Dinner was LO roast chicken in a creamy pasta sauce with pasta and broccoli

  • Yep, wet, windy, grey and miserable day here too. Resisted having the heating on until about 3 and managed with my little heater in the bedroom I wfh in.

Warming scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toast for lunch (seem to have slightly overbought eggs and also realised the mushrooms weren’t planned into anything else this week). Made spinach and feta orzo tonight with some dill and lemon zest, was yummy and there’s LOs for lunch tomorrow (surely it will be good cold 🤞)

Rare appearance of sun this morning, but of course grot is on its way from The West later

The Asda delivery arrived, an early late arrival.
I had a message saying it will be later delivery, after ten [9 ish was booked], turned up at 9.30ish just as I'd settled on computer MSE.
One sub, my cereal, which has turned out OK 'cos they sent what I originally wanted but had to change 'cos that was OOS when I amended the order to the one that was subbed, if that makes sense.

The Sirloin steak was OOS, not that I'm worried because I only added it to make up minimum order cost., so they've done me a favour there

Food today will be "new" to me food, while making my Asda order I decided to try other things but not too exotic, so a Twofer Fiver offer was posh fish cakes with mozeralla  [sp?] & chicken KFC style breaded mini fillets

Lunch, repeat of grilled cheese on toast
Dinner, either posh fish cakes or KFC style breaded chicken, I'll make my mind up later. With HM AF chips and maybe frozen peas or some salad?

    Good morning everyone,
I'm still in a lot of pain and had a restless night, I'm glad the physio warned me to expect this so another quiet day on the cards.
CFO tonight but haven't decided what to have, JKS has put me in the mood for scrambled eggs so if I don't have them for lunch they could well be dinner.
  • Hello everyone, hope you sleep better tonight @caronc

I’m trying a new recipe tonight, a mushroom tofu thing.

lunch was fake chicken with a kind of bistro salad - lettuce, celery, radishes and grapes. Breakfast was Greek yoghurt, tinned grapefruit from the out of date shop and dessicated coconut. I try to remind myself tropical heat still exists on grey days like this! Snacks have been three hobnobs. My brain is clearly rebelling against my weightloss plans.

  • Gosh, I’m tired tonight. Didn’t sleep particularly well and have had a day that consisted of two long, intense meetings. I should have gone swimming this evening but have taken it easy instead, will be off to bed after Kirstie and Phil.

Lunch was the LO spinach and feta orzo in a lunchbox and easy tea of beans and fried egg with toast tonight.

Back to howling wind & rain, guessing that it is same for Brambling, we didn't get much of a dry spell, but on a promise for tomorrow. My cunning pan to go mooching around the local churchyard on snowdrop photo shoot is squelching into the distance

Hope you slept better JKS, I seem to catch up the following night by sleeping most of the night, and Caron's back is easing with luck. A sickly lot lately, I expect brighter days and sunshine will help

Made an overnight loaf in the Panny, that's lunchtime cheese & onion sarnie sorted
Dinner, some of the new to me Asda KFC style breaded chicken fillets, with HM AF chips and probably side salad
Last night's posh fish cake was fine, nothing to rave over and not sure if I like them but as PN used to say, I bought them so, I'm eating them! Shan't buy again though

I'm out to volunteer meeting later this afternoon so that meal will be quick & easy
