Hope you feel better today Caronc.
I was feeling extremely tired since I had my flu jab at the end of November! I actually suddenly felt better a couple of days ago. I am debating whether to have the flu jab again as I get such a bad reaction to it. I might just get the Covid jabs. Saying that, I did avoid catching this "superbug" everyone has had. I haven't been ill since March 2022 when I last caught Covid.
I had a vegan "steak" and frites last night. It would have gone well with garlic mushrooms but the mushrooms I have bought have been gross lately!0 -
Good morning everyone,
Thanks everyone. my back is marginally less sore this morning. I think that's all the bruising out now, my it's an impressive array of colours!
Voluntary admin today, the manager has sent me a list of queries. That will keep me out of mischief. Though Hector has got up in holy terror mode so I'm not sure how much peace to concentrate I'll get. He's obsessed with seeing how high he can stretch or jump at moment !!
Had sausage stew and root veg mash last night. The sausages and gravy were LO from New Year's pie so and easy put together. LOs for lunch. Cajun spiced chicken, veg and rice tray bake tonight.0 -
Farway said:Back to howling wind & rain, guessing that it is same for Brambling, we didn't get much of a dry spell, but on a promise for tomorrow. My cunning pan to go mooching around the local churchyard on snowdrop photo shoot is squelching into the distance
my neighbour has a beautiful semi circle bed of snowdrops which I admire and envy every year, they were his late wife's pride and joy
the day started with a porridge eruption in the microwave, unfortunately I walked away when it only had 30 seconds left, I know better 🙄 I lost half of it
Lunch was a portion of tomato and sweet potato soup from the freezer. One of my sisters called just as I was about to start dinner so after a hour catch-up I ended up with fish finger sandwich for dinner 😋 followed by fresh fruit
my sister and BIL have had a shock their very good fuel deal came to a end at the end of the year and as it was set two years ago it wasn't pleasantmy BIL was tight careful with the heating before!

Sounds incredibly windy outside here, and didn’t feel properly warm for hours this evening.
In the office today and the day just flew by. This week is definitely going quicker than last week’s 4 days 🤔
Another portion of spicy butternut soup with toasted pitta for lunch (will make a batch of something different at the weekend) and tomato, artichoke and feta pasta tonight.0 -
Good morning everyone,
Calmer here today after a very wild and wet 24 hours.
Tesco due soon, just one OOS item (not essential) and no subs.
Hoping I might manage a trundle round the block later to relieve some of the stiffness.
LO chicken for lunch and usual Friday freeze/fridge rake for dinner.0 -
I hope the weather sharing has continued this morning Brambling, it's a beautiful sunny day but a bit chilly when I went out to the chiropodist, and collect my prescriptions while at itLast night's new to me KFC style Asda breaded chicken breast bits were not to my liking, too peppery for me.One more thing to eat because I've bought it but will not buy again. My trying new items has not been much of a success so far, but I'm sure somewhere on Asda's shelves is the wonderful tasty food I've never had, but to paraphrase, you have to kiss a lot of frogs before a Princess arrivesI've taken some posh bangers out to defrost for a sausage sarnie lunch, been frozen since last May so time to clear them outDinner, the not too keen on them LO KFC style chicken bits, with HM AF chips + LO beansEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

I was feeling sick this morning and I had to buy some milk of magnesia which has seemed to have done the trick. I just felt okay enough to eat and I had a banana and two slices of sourdough with marg.
I fancy pasta later. I have a jar of pesto sauce but I think I would just prefer a tomato based one. I will add garlic, red onion, green pepper and sweetcorn to the sauce.
It feels much colder here, nice and sunny, though. I've got my hot water bottle on my lap.2025 GOALS

Turned cold again here today so wrapped up for my wfh day to save having the heating on (except for my little oil filled radiator). Haven’t left the house but it did look nice and bright out.
Made harissa couscous for lunch with some roasted courgettes and peppers out of the freezer, feta, pomegranate seeds and flaked almonds. Treat tea of scampi, chips and peas 😋0 -
A rare occurrence this morning a blue sky and the sun, although it did turn cloudy early afternoon. Definitely colder today. I'm working a few hours tomorrow so not the usual Friday feeling 🙂
Lunch was some lamb koftas from the freezer in a pita with salad. Dinner was a lazy vegetable and peanut butter stew from the freezer with riceLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
And it's back to gales & rain this morning after yesterday's sun. Oh well on a brighter note I have a flower opened on my African Violet so at least a bit of cheerYou were lucky to find Milk of M Wednesday, on another thread they are saying there's a shortage of the stuff, anyway gald it workedNeed warming food today, so cold & chilly out.Lunch, I think I'll open a tin of cheapo veg soup, I say cheapo 'cos I was reading Heinz has shot up to over £1.50 a tin
, so not looking to be eating that brand anytime soon. If I CBA I could make my own but CBA are the keywords here
Dinner, has to be the not very keen on but have to eat it posh fish cake, probably with HM AF chips againI'll have a freezer rummage later to see about tomorrow and anything need defrosting overnightEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
