    Good morning everyone,
Yesterday was lovely, complete chaos but in a good way! Food was excellent far and worked the way we wanted it to. We kicked off at 3pm with cocktails a whisky sour infused with smoked cinnamon and canapes - homemade pastrami cured salmon on crackers and prawn cocktail cups, Turkey and all the trimmings around 6pm and in the evening enjoyed a selection of homemade mini desserts. I ate a lot but never felt stuffed which was grand. The boxed chocs and cheese never got touched.
Loved all my pressies, got my wish list and a book and cushion I wasn't expecting. :)
Weather is foul here today so a lazy day of TV until my sis and her pooch come over for leftovers buffet this evening.
    Hope everyone enjoys their day.
  • I hope everyone had a nice xmas.

It was nice and sunny this morning so we went out for a walk with our dog but it was quite chilly so we weren't out for long like yesterday. Coop was open today so I bought a few things like kitchen roll. I am getting an Iceland delivery tomorrow.

I really fancied chips, mushy peas and bread and butter when I got home so that is what I had!:)

Nice to see people had a good Christmas 🎄

We a very baby focus one 😁 although she had no idea what was going on other than wrapping paper and boxes and she managed two portions of Grandma's Christmas dinner. I slept over so I'm stiff from sleeping on my sister's old foam memory mattress (she slept on the put u up) and his lordship has been sulking 🙄 buy lovely day yesterday and today with family friends joining us.  I've eaten too much today

    Good morning everyone,
Weather is still foul here this morning, DS2 and I have promised ourselves a lazy day. As the weather was so dire yesterday DS1 and DIL-to-be sensibly decided to head back  back to Glasgow in the afternoon rather than drive over the moor in the sleet and hail in dark. Poor DIL-to-be had a stinking cold so after keeping going on Christmas was ready for her own bed and an early night. The were suitably supplied with leftovers. My sis still came over but DS2 picked her up.
Leftovers are nearly all finished, there's enough turkey for some sandwiches, a little pastrami salmon and some profiteroles but that's about it. I'll go through the fridge later to check nothing that will spoil is lurking. Cheese and chocolates are still untouched and there's quite a bit of cream but it will be fine for a bit.
Need to start thinking about catering schedule for 1st January and get Friday's grocery order finalised.
Lettuce rolls for lunch filled with salad, turkey and HM LO marie rose sauce.
Simple dinner tonight of lentils and red peppers with ginger & garlic in black bean sauce with rice, shredded omelette and spring onions.
  • I only just looked at the clock and realised how late it is! I've been tidying up and decluttering today for when the charity shops open.

I have only had toast and PB with orange juice today and suddenly feel very hungry. I might have a freezer meal as I have (unusually) ordered an Iceland grocery delivery tonight so will need the freezer space.

Starting to get back to normal, the weather is back to normal, wet & windy after one day of sunshine

Lots of bits of half used leftovers, which I will gradually eat my way through, like half a Christmas pud for instance

Today I hope to sort out the turkey, plenty left, but I'll slice some off for the next few meals & freeze the rest in meal sized portions for stew, curry etc
Freeze the uncooked bangers, again into meal portions
That should give me more fridge space to see my way ahead clearly, I do know I have way too much cheese but t least BBD is March time for some of it

Lunch today, looking like cold turkey or maybe a BLT with slightly stale HM bread, yummy :/
Dinner, LO cold turkey with HM AF chips + Christmas present chutney

    Good morning everyone,
Tipping it down here and to get very stormy this afternoon. Hasn't deterred DS2 and Hector heading to beach to meet up with a friend and his dog. I suspect Hector will need a bath when they get back!
Domestics and New Year's Day planning today and I need to gird my loins and renegotiate my contract with Virgin Media as it expires on the 6th.
Lunch is tbc possibly banana on toast. Pasta for dinner with HM creamy mushroom and bacon sauce.
  • Tiger bread, one slice with PB and one with Marmite this morning.

Very dark and gloomy day here and it is raining too. I have been doing more decluttering. I think I need a break and will watch some TV. :D

Wet and windy here today so I stayed in. The lurgy has made a brief return and I've been full of catarrh the last couple of days. I tried to sleep on four pillows to ease my breathing last night but found it made my neck ache 🙄 so have been a bit bleary eyed today

Beef and horseradish sandwich for lunch. Dinner last couple of sausage rolls from the freezer AF with salad

    Good morning everyone,
The weather is still pretty foul here, a day for snuggling up indoors though Hector will still need walked. Thankfully DS2 has decent wet weather gear.
I'm tired this morning, DS1 managed to accidently pocket phone me in the early hours. He'd been on his annual "boys day out" and was trying not wake up DIL-to-be on his return! Took me ages to get back over to sleep after being startled awake.
Grocery order to finalise and will try and make a dent in the laundry but apart from that a quiet day.
LO pasta for lunch and I've salmon defrosting for dinner. Will decide later what to have with it.
