It's baking hot here, another restless night with the heat, but out watering the volunteer pots early with my hose. I had intended to mooch over the Co-op after for brad, lettuce etc but the heat was too much to bother, I'll get on and compile my online order instead

With the heat it was rummage in freezer for salmon fillet, defrosting one for dinner, with last of the salad + HM AF chips

Lunch, bung something in a sarnie, maybe cheese & chutney?

Apart from that, just flop around

    No change on gouty finger

  • I slept ok (good old covid) but have found today far too hot, it didn’t help that I spent 5 hours in a Teams meeting this afternoon - everyone else was in an air conditioned meeting room 😬

Bit rinse and repeat food today - rest of the celery, apple and Stilton salad with a bit of prosciutto and some cold new potatoes (grabbed in a 10 minute break 🙄). Made prosciutto, artichoke and Parmesan salad again tonight.

I think it’s actually cooling down here 🤞

Hot and sticky night followed by too hot day it was 30 by 10am 🥵 it started raining about a hour ago on and off and the temperature has dropped to 22 🙂 I think we could do with a thunderstorm to clear the air. I found some old flannels so was making them damp and putting them in the freezer to cool 🙂

Lunch was cheese, crackers and fruit.  Dinner was tuna salad with coleslaw.  My old fridge freezer is getting noisy I don't think it likes the heat so I need to stop filling it and eat enough to move to the little chest freezer in case it dies on me, I have a draw full of HM RMs I need to eat down

Another restless hot night here, we had a few minutes of rain yesterday evening, hardly dampened the ground so worthless

I completed my Asda online shop, delivery tomorrow AM, I suspect a lot f items will not be available, like lettuce & juice, but we'll see
There wasn't any coleslaw or large packs of fish Fs so had to delete them, but I'll go back later today and see if back, theyr'e not essential anyway

MY gout is creeping onwards, now in left hand as well, not too painful but very inconvenient, need two hands claws to pick up the kettle for instance, and I was struggling to remove the air fryer drawer last night
Because if this today's meals are having to be ready-made & pingable, no way I can prep veg or lift a heavy pan

I can still work the TV remote and poke the keyboard :)

Lunch I think omelette, I have some near compost mushrooms to use up and can easily slide that out of the pan
Dinner, some frozen RM duly pinged
Plus I have near compost banana, which I may have with some should've been eaten at Christmas Cornish ice cream

    Good morning everyone,
Sorry the gout is creeping Farway.
The heatwave broke for us late afternoon yesterday with heavy rain followed by a stiff breeze. It obligingly dried up so we could cook outside but we ate in the kitchen as the breeze was quite chilly!
Off out for lunch today with old friends from work, I've not seen them since last year so looking forward to a proper catch up.
DS2 is making dal tonight but depending on what I have for lunch I might just have a snack.

lunch was cheese, crackers and fruit.  Dinner a portion of chicken in cider sauce from the freezer with rice, peas and sweetcorn so nice and easy

  • We only got a few fat drops of rain last night but it did cool down and we are forecast proper rain overnight. Much more comfortable day in my home office today but felt tired by the end of it.

My morning didn’t go quite to plan and I was slightly saladed out so cheese and pickle sarnie with some cherry tomatoes for lunch. Tuna pesto pasta with green beans and peas tonight.

    Good morning everyone,
Hector sitting today and have been up since DS2 left at 5.30, typically after refusing to go back to sleep as soon as I was washed and dressed he went for a snooze!
Tesco order to finalise and then I'll see what the day brings.
Lunch yester was lovely, I opted for the open roast beef sandwich which came with the most gorgeous onion rings, proper chips and coleslaw followed by a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream. The place was slightly more expensive compared to similar venues in town but we all reckoned it was good value as the cooking standard was definitely a notch above most of them.
Only had a small portion of dal last night so LOs for lunch.
Easy option tonight of bought quiche with salad and baked spuds.

Cooler night but still too hot really, gout still with me and getting inconvenient now more than painful, learning to use my left claw quite well now but a bit awkward pouring tea and the milk carton is too heavy to lift, opening jars is a right bu66er as well, thank heavens for ready meals

The Asda delivery arrived on time and the very helpful driver decanted it all for me, just one item missing, salad dressing, but they still kept the multi buy price. However, I ordered very posh lamb, a new item by them, £13.50kg. My pack is price marked at £12.18 so refund request is already in, unfortunately there isn't a tick box for "overcharged" so ad to put it in comments, at leat W8rose allow photo evidence etc but Asda nothing I can see.
Just have to wait & see, I guess

Food, more easy cook stuff, in fact Caron I have Quiché just arrived from Asda, so apart from baked spud that could be tonight's dinner. I have LO boiled spuds so blob of Mayo and call it potato salad

    Lunch, salad sarnie for ease,

UPDATE, seems Asda do not read any comments, they have refunded my all the £13.50 not just the overcharged amount, no complaints about that, free meat is always tasty :D

its been a overcast day with no rain 😐 I think it's waiting until I'm off tomorrow 🙄

lunch was LO tuna Mayo with salad.  Dinner chilli from the freezer with rice and some broccoli
